The China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda has welcomed 24 newborn cubs since the beginning of 2021, with a relatively high number of twins among the panda births recorded. Cubs ranging in age from three months to 10 days old are being cared for at the centre’s Shenshuping base in the southwestern province of Sichuan. In July, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment said the country’s wild population of giant pandas has increased to more than 1,800. The species is now classified as “vulnerable” rather than “endangered”. But some conservationists said the successful rebound for the giant panda overshadows the difficulties that “less adorable” animals often face.

Survival of the cutest
Socrates with yet another philosophy
Pandas could've naturally just died out. They're not a keystone species, have extremely low birth rates, and out of all the animals in the animal kingdom have minimal survival skills. We saved them bc they were cute
That is it exactly. No one cares about a lizard or a bug, but the fluffy adorable Panda? We gotta move Heaven and Earth.
@@john-bb5qw this. they're not apex predators so they contributions to ecosystem is hardly important. compared to shark which are really important to keep tab the numbers and also little land snail that keep the ground fertilized. this why i hate those animal lovers that only ever like mammals bcs 'cute'
@@john-bb5qw you forgot they are also lazy
Incredible how such small creatures grow to be hundreds of kilos.
You talking about humans
Yes indeed i mean they’re barely bigger than a palm and the grow up to be hundreds of kilos

U did not!
Great timing
Um
Congratulations to all the amazing scientists and caretakers who have helped the giant pandas! And all the best wishes to the babies and their parents 🐼
I think this program is important, not only for the giant pandas, but also all other endangered species. It proves that there is always hope for population growth and we should never give up on any animal. Let's support the scientists so that they can help even more lives!
1:18 you didnt have to show them banging we get it
These baby pandas are so cute and adorable.
I would do anything to cuddle a baby panda 🐼
I'm happy to have heard about the rebound of an iconic animal, rather than their extinction, in my lifetime.
We have a new panda cub in our Singapore Zoo and the whole nation is buzzing! Hope the baby will contribute more to their population when it becomes a full fledge adult!
Ok ok… tell me something else ..
Pandas are adorable

I love pandas, it is my favourite animal. but i can say that all the money used on pandas gives almost nothing in return to the enviroment compared to many other animals or even insects. Hope China will start funding more useful species of animals that will help the ecosystem.
Pandas are as cute as useless outside human affairs.
But still an endangered species
Althoug( they are an endangered species, you are right
Red pandas are better
China has already done lots of work to protect a wide range of animals, NOT ONLY PANDA! … But I’m pretty sure they are not well reported …
If they stop eating everything then maybe
Giant pandas are the flagship species of animal protection, also known as umbrella species.
China has designated nature reserves for giant pandas to protect a series of animals and plants, including golden monkeys, partridges, giant salamanders and firs, including giant pandas.
In the reserve, more than 290 species are classified as threatened by the IUCN Red list, more than 400 species listed or proposed to be included in China's national key protected species list, and more than 500 species endemic to China.

It took a lot of time, money and hearts to preserve just one specie. And even if one have all the resources, there’s no guarantee that specie can be saved from endangerment or extinction.
Better to celebrate and learn from it, and use it as an opportunity to encourage others in preservation of other endangered species.
Hope some panda Cubs will be gifted to Hong Kong’s ocean park next year. As it will be the 25th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong, which deserves celebrations🇨🇳🇭🇰
I want a panda😣😣
I used to have a stuffed panda when I was a kid. My favorite thing.
Do pandas attack on humans? Has there been any such instances? Considering the fact someone does not intend to hurt them.
The wild ones run at first sight of humans… 😂 but there are reports of humans being attacked when ventured into their territory and tried to pet them or accidentally dropped into the captive enclosures, startled them and stuffs.
Now people will pay to be attached by panda!
@@JR-vc4gm don’t be silly… they don’t attack humans unless u are dumb enough to provoke or startle one.. pretty sure u get a more violent reaction from other wild animals, try a baboon for a start. they are more than meek in character. Studies have shown if they are familiar with a person, they get emotionally attached until they will throw tantrums, just like kids …
Yes they do, they're still bears. We've had a caregiver in Pairi Daiza here in belgium who didn't follow the appropriate protocol and got attacked. I think it was pretty severe too, people tends to only see them as cute animals but they're quite big and one wrong movement from them could be fatal.
@@mariatheresavonhabsburg I know the attack is real but we don't know if this person mistreated the animal or not. Plant eating animals rarely attack humans unless they feel cornered or threatened. If that's the case, it's not the panda's fault.

Why do they keep trying to save pandas, clearly they can't survive on their own anymore.
if people didn't destory their habit, pandas can surely survive~!
they are the most powerful animal in their area~!
I think 🤔 it was listed vulnerable about 3 years ago. Source national geographic wild
The Chinese species of beavers need protection in the Northwest.
What is meant by less adorable? I think title should be changed to less focused instead. It’s so insulting to other animals!!
Oh no we know how pandas are made why at 1:18
maybe CCP should make program for humans who refuse to breed
No longer endangered
大熊猫保护计划可以缩减规模了,资源应向其他地区和物种倾斜。

24 babies only in 2021. I wish panda can be as common as cat or dog, so we can have a panda pet. That would be great!
it’s 2021 now, while some reporters from South China Morning Post are bla bla bla that CUTENESS is the standard why a country chose to protect an animal….😩so disappointing…
Can we let these things die out already. The efforts for keeping Pandas around are millions of dollars and hundreds of hours wasted to save an animal that does literally nothing, but make people like it’s look.
That's their case with most animals.
Only valuing animals on utility is cruel and senseless. You don't care and that's alright but you have no right demanding other to do the same. Shame on you.
@@mariatheresavonhabsburg Ok, you may have a point on me being a bit harsh on that one, no you’re right on that we should also give a fair chance for pandas on things, but my issue is that’s it’s practically only pandas that receive this level of care given. It’s my opinion that it’s also cruel for other animals to get shafted for one bear. At minimum 2.5 billion is spent a year on them alone, while others are being wiped out at extreme rates.
@@cleverusername421
I completely agree here, although I do think that raising attention on the loss of those species would be more productive than just basically blaming it on the panda's.
We are experiencing The Holocene extinction, wich is literally our sixth known mass extinction going since 440 million years ago. The main cause is human activity, changing our environment to suit us has been a thing since we've developed societies. But throughout the last few centuries we've seen lots of changes in our societies, accompanied with a massive increase in human population. We've increased 7-fold since the beginning of the 19th century.
Sadly such big changes will always come at the cost of other animals habitats but it has also brought us a more developed science and the ability to fight back. I hope we'll be able to live in harmony with nature one day but there is still a long way to go.
Actually they make a lot of money for the zoo due to their attractiveness! I have been to China Sichuan and their panda sanctuary makes lots of money!!
Literally the most ecologically useless animal gets the most help, way to go china.
I hope they don't start eating them
Your Seven words already showed how annoying and racist you are👎
Ignorance
Wow..what an uneducated comment...
this aint even just hate towards the CCP. This is simply disgusting racism
That's enough. No one in their right mind eat panda. There's a limit to stupidity.
