    Why gator less population than croc?

    • @hobomike6935
      @hobomike6935 2 года назад

      they're much more aggressive & hostile than crocodiles are, and as a result are often targeted more by humans.
      by nature, crocodiles are a bit more reclusive, and flee more quickly if a human approaches from afar. these traits have inadvertently protected the crocodile from most poachers

    • @brodofraggins4688
      @brodofraggins4688 2 года назад +1

      @@hobomike6935 everything you just said is wrong. Alligators are normally more timid than crocodiles and I believe only the American Crocodile is less aggressive than the American Alligator. Chinese alligators are much smaller than the American species and only get 5ft long MALE, they are as such very shy of larger animals such as humans.

    • @hobomike6935
      @hobomike6935 2 года назад

      @@brodofraggins4688 well I couldn't remember which one was more aggressive, I just knew one of them was a bit more shy than the other and picked based on the fact that Alligators seem to go up on land more often than crocodiles do (their legs allow them to walk, while crocodiles can only crawl due to having legs on the sides of their body)
      I would assume that because they prefer to stay in the water where they have the advantage, crocodiles wouldn't interact as often with humans as alligators do

    • @brodofraggins4688
      @brodofraggins4688 2 года назад +1

      @@hobomike6935 actually some crocodile species are the ones who have the straight leg dog-galloping gait as you describe. An example being the Cuban Crocodile which can be a VERY aggressive species. Both alligator species have the sprawled leg gait from the sides of their bellies, when they walk is when they have the straight gait.
