@@Bassslayer0 well they updated it to where you can move your ps5 games to the expanded storage. Basically the external becomes essentially a storage locker. When you want to play the games on it you move them back on to the internal drive itself. Honestly yeah it does suck but I think I know why they did it. External hard drives generally suck when it comes to gaming. The data speeds are limited via USB. So you would definitely experience a significant down play in performance, load times ect. Where ps5 is suppose to be seamless loading. Thats my only theory as to why it's like that
@@Carlos-jj5vh thats what Im told. I havent tried it out yet with mine. PS4 games will work. But not PS5 games. I think it probably has something to do with the fast loading times. Youd need to expand the internal storage which Playstation is allowing I guess
This external ssd is amazing. Superb fast load times with the ps4 games, not as fast as my internal seagate m.2 sd inside my ps5, but i mainly use that to push ps5 games back and forth. I use the external for all my ps4 titles, literally only a few second load time differnece

I'm loving my PS5 and it's internal SSD for faster load times for PS5 and PS4 games. I'm definitely gonna get P10 external drive just to archive PS5 and PS4 games when i'm done playing them for awhile so i can make room without having to re install my games.

Its a bummer that disc version of ps5 can't directly play ps4 discs and only download updates on hard drive. It has to rip the entire disc on the hard drive in order to be able to play it. Its weird!

One of the commentor on reddit suggests that turning off PS5 is the best way to avoid the issue and never put PS5 on rest mode with external hard drive ever. I also would suggest this just because after putting my PS5 on rest mode the external hard drive seems to be still on or spinning. I then turned my PS5 off and thought that seems about right. The external hard drive is off completely even tho it plug-in to the power. What are your thoughts on this?

Basically you can expand storage for PS4 games but not PS5 games thus still very limited storage for PS5 games at present time.
Literally all my games are ps5 so a external hard drive would be useless since its only for ps4

No you can move back but you still need to put the disc in to play.
