The cake pops were a huge hit! Even Mr Firefly who doesn’t usually eat dessert ended up having seconds 😊 It was nice to have a success after that pancake fail 🤣🤣🤣
Hello Chana! Thank you for the great video, as always. Yes, recipes/hacks from those viral cooking videos/posts don't always work for me either... I did have more luck with using heart-shaped cookie cutters to fry heart-shaped sunny side up eggs :) congratulations on your Siyum! I'm sure the kids loved hearing about your reading and learning experience. Those cake pops look soooooooo yummy! As does the key shaped Chala. Great to hear you started to feel better in the afternoon. Lots of hugs to you and your family from (a very sunny today) Switzerland! :)
Channa,. The pancake thing was not a fail, it was a learning experience. Nothing we try our best at is a fail,. Because we learn something from the experience. When we learn we cannot fail.
Wow, baby firefly is certainly growing in there. It's good that you and baby are doing well. I love 1st and 2nd Samuel too, but you're right, they'd wreck it if they made it into a movie.
I thought those pancakes were so cute, Chana. The Texas one was my favorite.I have a friend who makes Cake Pops for parties etc and they are yummy and easy to serve as well. I just love those new chairs...they are so nice and look so comfortable too. Be gentle with yourself in these last weeks of pregnancy....I know it is hard when you have three other children who need you but take time for those naps when you can!!
I made our first ever key challah this year (gluten-free also). What a wonderful experience! I'll tag you in my IG post :) you've inspired me to give cake pops a try! when our kids were little we would often use a turkey baster to make pancake shapes. what a fun season! Now our kids are such big eaters that we do sheet pan pancakes for efficiency, lol. congratulations on your Siyum! Shabbat Shalom!
It is so nice to hear the jiddisch word for key because it is derived from the German word for key Schlüssel. So nice to see the orthodox customs, because in the Netherlands we don’t see them anymore 😔.
I am a relatively new subscriber so I am catching up on some of your previous videos. I was brought up in conservative Judaism with an increased exposure to Orthodox practices when I spent a summer in Israel (many years ago) on a trip with Yeshiva University. I am learning so much from your videos. For example, I had never heard about the key challah nor the observance of "taking challah". I recently ordered a siddur because watching your videos has rekindled an interest in my faith. Thank you for the time and effort you put into making your RUclips channel so entertaining and informative.
I make my kids pancakes in the shape of their initial or hearts. I just drip the batter slowly from a spoon but I have thought of using a condiments container from the dollar store
I love how your kids are so eager to help their Mom! The table looked so nice for Shabbat. You truly make a loving and cozy home. Lots of blessings and enjoyment as you continue to study Torah!
I let my granddaughters help with the cake pops, they love crumbing up the cake, with clean hands or wearing gloves, and rolling the cake balls. I mix in the frostings and do the dipping in the melted chocolate. They also enjoy decorating the cake pops with sprinkles, colored sugars, decorating Jimmie’s or very fine chopped nuts.
Congratulations on finishing your learning !!! The challah looks amazing your so creative and come up with really good ideas . Cake pops do look really good glad everyone enjoyed .
First, congratulations on your Siyum! How exciting. I didn't realize how easy it is to make cake pops!!! Gonna try that soon. Much love and prosperity to you and your family. ❤
I so enjoy your family videos! I miss having my kids at home and all the fun things we did. My daughter and 3 grandchildren moved to Fort Worth (from San Francisco) last summer and I so miss all our activities together! Shalom 💖
Feeling the baby move is always so exciting! I love that your children are so excited to help. It shows that Momma and Poppa have taught them that teamwork makes everyone’s job easier and that family is the most important team. Those cake pops looked delicious. And I love the key challah tradition. Until Thursday-Blessings!
I have done the cookie cutter pancake trick. I think the key is to funnel the batter into a squeeze bottle or pastry bag. Easier to control than with a spoon. It helps if the batter is not as thick. Using the squeeze bottle you can make your own designs (squiggles or a Mickey Head) or silver dollar pancakes too.
I always smile through your entire video! Your precious baby is growing fast and zapping your energy right now. How exciting to have a new blessing growing in your womb!
Congratulations on your Siyum! You’re such an inspiration. The cake pops look delicious and the key Challah looks adorable. I hope you feel better soon. Much love to you all ♥️
Hi Hannah my name's Penny i live in Jamaica and love watching your show. I've always been interested in the Jewish way of life, so your vlog has opened my eye's completely. So Thank You I enjoy learning about other cultures.
Hi Chana! Looked like a successful baking day to me! There is something about cake pops that is universally appealing. I am not that fond of cake, but a cake pop, now that's a different story. As always a pleasure to watch and learn....
Hi there Channa, you are such a precious Mama, I love watching you share your journey with us. Your children always look so happy and content it's a joy to watch!! I love being a Mama and now a Grammy it's wonderful. I am so grateful to God for His unthinkable blessings. 💝💝💝
Love your focus on family. Siyum sounds incredible and I love highlighting the blessing of reading and studying scriptures with something sweet. Never heard of Siyum before, but so happy to learn about it!
So cool to see your baby kick! My mother had also let me feel my own sister kick just before my sister had been born, a great experience for any child to have!
Congratulations on completing your learning. It’s always great to learn new things at any age. I love watching your videos as I’m learning so much about Judaism and constantly Googling different topics. I hope the end stage of your pregnancy goes well and you you manage to res. God bless your whole family xx
MAZAL TOV on your Siyum-what an achievement. Your family should be very proud. It’s quite a commitment to set aside time daily with your busy schedule. Kol HaLavod!
This was so fun, Chana, and you taught us more about Judaism, too! Pancakes were adorable, and those cake pops looked really yummy..no wonder they were a hit. The kiddos are super helpful, even though I believe you must be the hardest working woman on RUclips! Yet, you never complain and have such a wonderfully pleasant and cheerful demeanor. 🤗 I love all your videos; thanks so much for sharing. I'm glad you're feeling better! Rosemarie 💖
From one of your fan club, I enjoy watching the videos and the calming attitude of " That's ok" as that is so important to have with the daily flow of events. I find myself using that term so often now because of you!! . You do a wonderful job of explaining different Jewish customs and enjoying the special beauty of them as well. Kol Hakovod, It's nice also that the children get to feel the baby moving and kicking, something that they weren't able to appreciate years earlier when they were that much younger. Have a great week!
The cake pops look so good and easy to make! Going to have to try them sometime. Love how the kids wanted to help set the table. They will be big helpers when the new baby arrives! Thank you for sharing with us that moment of the baby moving and the kids getting to see/feel that. Hope you have a blessed week.
Congratulations on your educational progress. I am curious. At what age do boys start wearing a head covering, what I always knew as a yarmulke? Also, at what age do they start going to synagogue and learning Torah? I find all facets of your life so interesting And I’m learning a lot. I love seeing the kids hands on the baby. Your looking healthy and good. The Samuels are a lot to learn but lots of interesting times back then. Good for you.
Hi Chana, A really lovely and interesting video today. So beautiful seeing the kids feel the baby kick.. They must be so excited to be welcoming their baby sibling soon! Enjoy your week! Lesley
Congratulations on your siyum & what a way to celebrate with yummy cake pops :) What a beautiful moment you shared of your children feeling the baby, move so much love in your home.
Hi Chana, Mazel Tov on your Siyum on Shabbat! May you continue and have many more! The cake pops were such a cute idea. The new chairs are lovely in your Dining room. Are they hard to clean if someone spills something? Really nice Shlissel Challah. I am not a Challah baker at all but I love to see others Challot that they prepare. Feel good and get more rest if you need.!
Congratulations on your Siyum dear Chana! I think you did an awesome job with your pancakes and I know your children enjoyed eating them which is all that matters. I love how your children always want to help you with everything, that is so sweet. Sending you big hugs and much love to you, Baby to be, and your sweet family!
Beautiful video, Chana. Congratulations on your siyum of the Books of Samuel. Your baking looks delicious. I think you are a natural-born teacher because of your curiosity and logical step-by-step explanations.
So excited for your Siyum!!! :). Mazel Tov! I and II Samuel isn't easy.. SOOOOOOOOOO much in there. For you to complete and distill this for kids is amazing!! it's so nice to celebrate this.
You making those pancake shapes took me back to my childhood (and I’m 50 so that was a long time ago). My mom attempted something similar with worse results. I can remember her laughing so hard. Mazel tov on the upcoming siyum! I look forward to doing my siyum in the new future. Chana, you bring much joy and happiness to my Jewish experience. Thank you!❤ By the way, I am joyfully anticipating your new arrival. Your children have huge hearts of love towards one another.
For years I’ve made my grandchildren pancakes that I would add food coloring to. When I would travel to visit them I would have them ask their mom’s if I will make colored pancakes when I get there. Making pancakes with a griddle(flat pan) is easier to do cookie cutter pancakes.

Maybe I will try cake pops for Miss Iris.
Thank you Cate!!! These books are sooo exciting! Love that you are learning them too :) So funny you mentioned about the visuals, I was thinking that the next time I learn these, I will journal them with maps and images and questions etc
Love the baby kicks or hiccups at the end!!! So sweet! My kids liked to feel our baby move too! If time would allow, wouldn’t you just love to devour all those great books on your book shelves!!???? I know you can’t wait to dig into that commentary on Psalms that you got yourself for your birthday!!! You will have to tell us about it! I looked up Artscroll! So many great options! Will go back when I have more time and search the site. 🥰
Fun cake tip! -> mix 1 can diet soda with your cake mix (use like-colors…ie - Diet Coke for chocolate mix, diet sprite for vanilla + lighter mixes). Don’t add the oil, eggs, etc. Just the cake mix + soda, and bake as usual. It’s delicious!! Fun vlog mama 🤍
Hi Chana. Here is a suggestion for the gluten free key Halla bread. Look for a loaf or cake pan in the shape of a key. Gluten bread batter is very much a cake batter. Cake pans come in so many shapes. I bet there is a key shaped pan out there. Take care.
Thank you for sharing that sweet moment at the end of your children getting to feel and see those precious baby movements. What a miracle God allows us mothers to experience! ❤️ I had just discovered the shlissel challah and “coincidentally” my mother came across a challah bake happening at a local synagogue here in my city. I was so thankful that I was allowed to join in this special tradition. 🥰

I second this! Super easy when you're in a rush or out of an ingredient!
I love your new dining room chairs. Such a pretty color. I have a question. Is there a special reason why you put plastic on top of your tablecloth?
The plastic is just to protect the white tablecloth from stains that inevitably would happen with little kids at the table

I was so thankful that I was allowed to join in this special tradition. 🥰
