Close Class Battle - CSCC Jaguar Challenge / MG Trophy Silverstone National Race 2 - June’24

For Race 2 Nick Dyson in the Red XJ40 had reclassified his car into class C as the modifications on the car made it eligible for the same class as the diesel XJ.
There is no doubt the XJ40 is a well sorted and quick car and the XJ Diesel doesn’t have the same straight line speed but appeared to handle the corners better.
A great race and good early battle with Rick Walker who was back out in the ‘lean green’ XJS and once I got past him, I had a brilliant race with Nick and with 2 laps to go he got passed me.
However, I was unaware that the ‘naughty 40’ had been placed in our class, so as the chequered flag fell, I thought I had secured another class win, to later discover the red XJ had in fact taken class honours.
A great couple of races and good to have another car out on the grid - on to Anglesey on 20th July!
