Thank God for the old days, where great musicians played. They had class in singing and playing and none better than Christy and Declan. When you think of the "shite" that we see nowadays they would never have got through the auditions. Great singing, great guitars and great audience too. This is just one great post on youtube.
I remember dancing around the kitchen table with my dad when he was a good person but now its gone this song brings back so many emotional feelings. I was 4 at the last time we danced and now im 13 so well done 😢💔
And drunk as hell I left that place, sometimes walking, sometimes crawling. A hungry sound came upon the breeze, I gave the walls a good talking And I heard the sounds of long ago, from the old canal that's poetry
@@trevscribbles I think that line works perfectly after hearing the first part of the story-- the guy has a snippet of memory on his drunken walk home - so great
Absolutely. I always imagine the first lines as the opening of a novel or a short story, in prose: One summer evening, drunk to hell, I sat there nearly lifeless. I can also imagine a novel or story ending with the last words from 'Dark Streets of London': And every time that I look on the first days of summer, it takes me back to the place where they gave ECT, and the drugged-up psychos with death in their eyes, and how all of this really means nothing to me.
poor christy has to try so hard and shane has natural abillity , which is a rare thing indeed still love shristy , hiroshima nagazaki russian roulette , great lp ..
One summer evening drunk to hell I stood there nearly lifeless An old man in the corner sang Where the water lilies grow And on the jukebox johnny sang About a thing called love And its how are you kid and whats your name And how would you bloody know? In blood and death neath a screaming sky I lay down on the ground And the arms and legs of other men Were scattered all around Some cursed, some prayed, some prayed then cursed Then prayed and bled some more And the only thing that I could see Was a pair of brown eyes that was looking at me But when we got back, labeled parts one to three There was no pair of brown eyes waiting for me And a rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go For a pair of brown eyes I looked at him he looked at me All I could do was hate him While Ray and Philomena sang Of my elusive dream I saw the streams, the rolling hills Where his brown eyes were waiting And I thought about a pair of brown eyes That waited once for me So drunk to hell I left the place Sometimes crawling sometimes walking A hungry sound came across the breeze So I gave the walls a talking And I heard the sounds of long ago From the old canal And the birds were whistling in the trees Where the wind was gently laughing And a rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go A rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go And a rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go For a pair of brown eyes For a pair of brown eyes

This is just one great post on youtube.
No costume changes, no crotch-grabbing, no pyrotechnics, no obscenities. Just genuine emotion and an undenible connection with the audience.
Flike I like you're comment . little she xx

I love your style
One summer evening drunk to hell
I stood there nearly lifeless
An old man in the corner sang
Where the water lilies grow
And on the jukebox johnny sang
About a thing called love
And its how are you kid and whats your name
And how would you bloody know?
In blood and death neath a screaming sky
I lay down on the ground
And the arms and legs of other men
Were scattered all around
Some cursed, some prayed, some prayed then cursed
Then prayed and bled some more
And the only thing that I could see
Was a pair of brown eyes that was looking at me
But when we got back, labeled parts one to three
There was no pair of brown eyes waiting for me
And a rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go
For a pair of brown eyes
I looked at him he looked at me
All I could do was hate him
While Ray and Philomena sang
Of my elusive dream
I saw the streams, the rolling hills
Where his brown eyes were waiting
And I thought about a pair of brown eyes
That waited once for me
So drunk to hell I left the place
Sometimes crawling sometimes walking
A hungry sound came across the breeze
So I gave the walls a talking
And I heard the sounds of long ago
From the old canal
And the birds were whistling in the trees
Where the wind was gently laughing
And a rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go
A rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go
And a rovin, a rovin, a rovin I'll go
For a pair of brown eyes
For a pair of brown eyes
"i like your style"
For all you irish folk like i am irish
and a roaming I go
