Take em to church!!! THE CAPE ROUTINE!!! and the walking with the beat of the drums LOVE IT !!!just all around excellence!!! AND MUSICAL GENIUS AT BEST ❤️❤️❤️ I keep rewinding😩 TRULY THE GODFATHER OF SOUL ♥️♥️♥️
He was truly one of the best performers ever! Being on that Ed Sullivan Show too! He knew when to change his songs of the times back then too! His slow songs were the bomb too! Can't ever forget him either!
I know James Brown was not a rock or metal singer, but I think he definitely had to be the inspiration behind the metal scream like he did @ 2:24 when he screamed he's looost!
Ohhh, how I miss the days of great black performers . Fabulous voices, beautiful clothes, brilliant choreography.. nobody could match them. So why are so many now screeching obscenities about rape and murder, and dressed like total deadbeats? You couldn't pay me to attend that sort of garbage, but back in the 60s, I would've sold my soul to attend ANY concert by black artistes.
They were the greatest performers unmatched and really changed society and made it better. People take it for granted the contributions of Black performers but they inspired everyone. People take good things for granted. People won't learn to appreciate something until it leaves them. Another is that music industry is no good and has stolen from lot of Black artists. Plagarism across the board, no royalty checks and ripping off Black performers. Black artists today don't care about creating music just what sells. Why produce gold when you can produce for crap for cheap, more money and no effort.
The FAMOUS FLAMES were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. James Brown was inducted in 1986. James Brown’s band was nominated, but not inducted in 2015.
I was able to see him perform at the Uptown Theatre and he had put up a wonderful performance , he was awesome in person that was back in the 80s. What a great performer. 😮😊
Lol, iconic performance! BUT...as you see him near the top of the walkway going off stage, you see him fining the hell out of members of the band for missin' their cues! If you listen carefully you'll hear it. He doesn't react, he just makes a mental note of it and on his way off stage, flashes all 5 fingers of his hands to let them know, yeah, when you get ya ass off stage pay up. LOL
JB was TOUGH to work for--it better be perfect or your a$$ got busted!! (I read somewhere that he'd fine you for something as minute as having a scuff on your shoe--EVERYTHING had to be on point!!)
I can see the five finger flash to the drummer(s), but there's definitely nothing you can hear from James after leaving the mic to exit. So I'm not sure what part you're talking about where you can listen carefully to hear them say something. Oh, you mean the band (guess that one drummer) screwing up. Trying to find a timestamp on when they messed up.
This was must see TV in 1966 for black people. James Brown on national television? You might not see another black performer on tv for several weeks, if not months.
This was a 10min medley. He performed: Papa’s Bag/I Got You (I Feel Good)/Ain’t that a Groove/Man’s World/Please, Please, Please. I don’t get why they NEVER EVER showed this in its entirety. 🙄
Poem essa aí naquela tarde de domingo... Reflita na vida irmão pensa no bem no bem da vida e vai levando na levada junto com a música igual agora que vc está ouvindo aí... Desse jeito deixa a música levar vc... E só vai 🚀🚀.....
Many Years ago I had the Pleasure of being Employed at B.B. Kings on 42nd Street in Manhattan as one of Mr. Browns Personal Private Security for Two Nights. On the Stage was his Young Wife who was White and performing with him the Place was Crowded...I was positioned at his Dressing Room. After the show Ended on the Second Night we Escorted Mr. Brown to his Limousine waiting for him on 42nd Street...We Stopped Pedestrian Traffic and he was Roped off with Red Carpet getting into his Limo...When Some Young Brothers wanted to know who was All that Ceremony for and Someone Said James Brown and one of them said All of that for him? I Said to bad he Didn't know how Stupid he Sounded...R.I.P. ✊🏾✊🏾
No one could do it better. This was the embodiment of black excellence at that point.
Agreed.. but seal also does a great job in this song man.. totally out of this world..
That would be the women beating and rape accusations
Yup but now its young thug
@@eddievalenzuela3255 No the hell it's not. Many talented black artists in this day and age
@@mariahyohannes but they’re not as famous as they should be
Pay homage. This is the man that a young Michael Jackson and a young Prince had to learn from.
You can hear his influence in their music, for sure.
Loleatta Holloway was perhaps somewhat his female equivalent (but widely unrecognised as so) ?
That’s why they were talented. They had someone they could learn from. Now a days it’s pitiful!
Love it !!!!! James Brown was literally untouchable in his prime !!!
This was his prime? I’m curious on when his prime was
Literally?
@@toolbandfreak no bro 😂 ik James was literally in his prime age wise and everything
He was still doing splits and spins at the age of 50! The only man I know of that NEVER gave a bad performance ❤️
@@reggiewitt6813 id say 1956 through 1969 was his prime prime
I fucking love James brown. Best entertainer EVER.
The transition from it a man world to please please is so smooth
The Undisputed King of Soul the Showstopper, Mister Dynamite, Soul Brother Number 1the Godfather, James Brown- No one tore it up like him.

Word!
James Brown and Michael Jackson , are the greatest of all the time !!!!
Don't forget Prince!
Don’t forget Jimi, children..!
That spin and collapse at 3:43 is unmatched.
James Brown is unmatched in talent, skill and execution. He creates a universe with every song.
May 1st 1966. Let's remember the era and Ed's audience. This must have blown peoples minds right?
( its hard to believe he allowed it- must have stepped outside or took the private elevator upstairs.
James was the coldest of them all!
James was the beat man! the tempo, the soul, and the inspiration! for anyone that appreciated excellence.
James Brown and the BIG band, what a showman.
R.I.P. Danny Ray - James Brown’s ‘cape man’
Ed Sullivan could be a really cranky, mean dude at times but you could tell how much he loved and respected Brown for coming on his show.
Other people cover this. But its James' song all the way.
And when you hear them it sounds weak!
Chadwick Boseman did a hell of job as James Brown
@@jonathanclary3992 they used James browns song recordings though
@@moehouse_thegxldenboy745 yes but I think some of it was Chadwick Boseman
The full performance included Papa's bag,I feel good, ain't that a groove man's world and please please please.
Classic soul from soul brother no. 1
I envy everyone that saw JB at his prime.

All popular music in the western world except country is literally black music. White people copied our style
one hell of a performance!
Everyone from the the Beatles Rolling stones MJ Prince learned from this Man.
I saw JB around this time . His show ...Nothin like it . No one like him!
Extraordinary then; Beyond measure today!
Thank you, Mr. Brown..!

Mr. Brown fined the 🎷🎺 section heading off the stage. Earlier in the performance of "Ain't That a Groove" the horns missed their cue.
