    A few people were requesting this song and after doing some research I found a few tutorials online that i felt weren't teaching it well. They either had parts wrong or didn't explain it in detail exactly how he does it. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff on youtube is wrong and its cluttered with people looking for more likes and not necessarily the best content. This video should cover EVERYTHING he did on the song. Even Wilbur himself has a cool tutorial on it. As the composer he's having fun with it and doesn't describe it exactly like the recording (on purpose I assume). So here it is EXACTLY HOW HE PLAYS IT.
    The song really only has a few tricky parts, A tapping technique and slapping the guitar. The form of the song is confusing as per usual with his music but if you're watching the video you probably already know the song well.... Don't give up! Keep practicing!
    PLEASE SUBSCRIBE/Like and or DONATE. I need all the help I can get through these tough times to be a musician. Love you all! Thanks so much for the support and nice comments. It makes me happy to read everything!

    great video but just saying at the end of the lyric "my optimistically set alarm clock wise" where you use ur pinkie and then tab on the other string (20:35) you don't need to tab on the other string, you can simply just remove the pinky and plug the same string. Again, amazing video, just helping out for others who might fine this way easier :)

    • @JustinRothberg
      @JustinRothberg  Год назад +1

      Thanks! I'm not sure what tab means but i suggest using the pinky. The pinky is often neglected by guitarist and will make everything easier if you put in the time. The stretch with the third finger may be easier but only if you don't have your pinky finger developed.

    i was really struggling learning from wilbur's own tutorial and this was really helpful in going into more detail and explaining it in an easy to understand way. i now know the whole song and just need to practice until i can play it at full speed without mistakes! thanks so much for this :D

    Not sure if this is right but, I slowed the video down for the second and third strumming pattern and I this is what I ended up with:
    022000= down down down down up up down down
    440000= down down down down
    220000= up up down down
    Play two times then move on
    Hope this helps I saw some comments that people were confused tbh I was to :)

    Hello Mr, thank you for making these tutorials! I recently picked up the guitar and Since I Saw Vienna was the first song I learned, thanks to your tutorial! Beforehand I thought learning the song would be much more difficult than it actually was, you explain it very very well. There is something about making the music play at my fingertips that makes the process more enjoyable. I am so appreciative of you!, I turned on your post notifications to learn more in the future.
    When I played keyboard a few years ago, I learned my songs from tutorials on youtube with the green and blue bars shifting down. They were effective, but your in-depth and accurate tutorials vs. the over simplified ones is the key to what I am trying to achieve. I took initiative to try and learn some theory, learn the name of the notes, chords, and your videos help me so much. Knowing the techniques behind my favorite songs is like listening to them for the first time again. I receive a better understanding on what makes songs sound the way they do, and it's easier to apply these techniques when I try and make music in the future (if I ever will, I sort of feel lost and overwhelmed sometimes). Thank you so so much! I will update how learning this song went in the future. I will do my best to support you in the ways I can, because I think you don't receive enough recognition for your efforts. I am sure I will come back to learn songs that Wilbur has not made, because of how well your tutorials are made. Thank you :D

    Helpful as always! If you have the chance and are up to it can you maybe tackle Welly Boots by The Amazing Devil? The only lesson I could find online isn't exactly clear on the fancy fingerstyle in the beginning as it only shows the chords.
    Will keep following your tutorials as you help clear up questions I have

    Your videos are like the only ones I can learn off of you do an amazing job, I was wondering if you can do (privately owned spiral galaxy) by crywank. I’ve been looking up so many videos and everything and I just can’t figure out the cords. Much love keep it up.

    Thank you for this tutorial! Its really helping me out though I have only made it 11:58 minutes in but I have learned most of the intro already though the tuning may be a little off but that is only because I really didn't know how to tune it to its correct tune for the sound but its still works sorta ^^ :)
