How is it even POSSIBLE for so much STUFF to be in such a small AREA | Garden Transformation

  • You're not going to believe how much stuff was crammed into this space, it was crazy. The owner of this property can no longer work in the garden for any length of time, due to a disability and lack of mobility. I was called in to give it the once over and make this area shine again. Right at the end of the lane there was a pile of builder's rubble, left behind after a renovation. It's pretty bad when trades people can't even take away their rubbish!
Remember, folks, never pay a trade's person for the job until you are 100% satisfied with the result. Otherwise, you may need to pay someone else to come in and fix the problem afterwards.
Workers on this job: George (Me).

    FAQ's:
    Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 4 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!
    Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!
    Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why dont you have help?
A: Ive had a lot of problems with employees in the past, so I now work alone.
Q: Why dont you have a ride-on mower?
A: Weel there are a few reasons.
    1. Currently, I don't do enough jobs like his to justify spending 15k on a good ride on mower.
    2. I don't have anywhere to store it.
    3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride on in there.
    4. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering we always take the green waste away.
    5. I will get one as soon as all of the above are solved!

My heart goes out to this home owner. It looks like they enjoyed pottering around with plants and decorations and it's very sad that they have serious mobility issues now. If I was there I would just love to plant some pretty flowers along that strip and help them look after the planters. What happened to the little wooden seat? I hope they have a place to sit out there now, if the caregiver can help them get outside.
I feel so angry at the slack tradesmen who left their rubbish behind!! Taking advantage of a frail person. Disgusting. I could use a few descriptive words for people like that, but I'd get kicked off, lol.
Thanks so much for fixing the gate!
I wonder what the front and back of the place was like?

Another stellar job, George! For someone with mobility issues, that was a nightmare and a death trap! You have made it safe again. And so much tidier!
Made my temperature rise a bit when I saw the mess at the end of the walkway left by those who did the renos. They were probably making changes to the home to accommodate the owner’s health issues and decided she’d never get back there soon so she’d never know that they just dumped it until it was too late. I strongly dislike people who take advantage of the vulnerabilities of others! You, my friend, are the polar opposite of that.
I’m curious - do you have a dog of your own? You always seem very happy to meet the dogs you run into while working. You have a way with them and it’s obvious they are drawn to you. Hope you have one of your own to go home to!

Well George, as one of your faithful followers in my seventies, I can explain all the “stuff” in the yard. It’s decorating your outside as well as the inside. Some call it “shabby chic”. My yard has knick knacks and all kinds of shells, beautiful rocks, rocks my grandkids have painted, etc, etc. I think it’s lovely and I thought your client’s side yard was lovely. I actually am still able to do my own lawn maintenance (thank God), so no one else has to move my stuff around periodically.
I’ve noticed when you come in especially for winter maintenance that you do what I consider “severe” cut backs, but I also note you have an artist’s eye and knowledge of plant growth on the best way to proceed. I’m even using some of your techniques myself, having for years felt that kind of cut back was “brutal”! But I’m seeing you know what you’re doing and now completely accept and understand your techniques.
I just wanted you to know a lot of us “gals” love our Knick knacks!
You’re a great landscaper and mowing expert! I love, love your channel and you! ❤❤❤❤

Thanks for figuring-out a gate fix George. Being hard to use would have been a daily occurrence. I am watching and thinking that a narrow space is both a question of, "What can I do with it?" and the problem of nearly not being able to turn around. You weren't kidding that a rubble pile contributed to problems. It ultimately took-up/ruined a chunk of the available space. Nice you sorted it all and brought it back to usable. Restart nicely accomplished.
