Great follow up review. I just purchased this tonight ! ...excited to play my amazing (500 records)vintage collection that I inherited from my husband when he passed...mostly early Elvis from every corner of the earth. It's going to be emotional as he loved his collection so much. Thank you for the great review! Cheers
I hope you enjoy yours sorry for your loss of your husband ❤
Such a moving testament to power of music❤
This is one of the Best Record players I’ve ever Bought! I totally recommend this Beauty! Worth my Money
I purchased mine a few months ago because of your review. It’s a great all-on-one stereo. So far, my cassette player works fine. A little wow and flutter at first, but it sounds like it has gone away.
I saw your original review for this system and based on that, I bought this for my cubicle at work. I'm pretty happy with it for the most part. I like the looks, and the sound quality is pretty good. After reading the specs for the turntable, it says the stylus is good for about 50 hours of use. This indicates that it is a sapphire stylus. There is a diamond stylus available, which did improve the sound quality of the turntable, and increases the stylus life to about 1000 hours. The FM tuner works well in my office, which for the most part pretty radio dead. It pulls in a lot of stations other radios can't. I really like the CD player and the ability to stream music from my phone and tablet to it. Thanks for the review and recommendation. It is greatly appreciated.
hey, do you know where and which diamond stylus is should get?
Ironically, back in the mid-century, units like this had AM radio but no FM.
I swear those are SpongeBob songs 😂
Dead
Definitely giving Bikini Bottom vibes 😂
I have a similar Victrola 4 in 1 called the Highland that I like a lot. I use a separate CD player plugged into the aux in. Works and sounds great! Better than you would expect especially the record player. Big band and classical sound very nice and appropriate on a unit like this.
Very cool!
I just bought the Highland off the Victrola website.
This Is A Cool Little Machine
Just got one for $60 on marketplace in perfect condition. So excited!
I bought two of these; one for each of my parents. These usints blew me away! The quality is top notch and the line out is just something you almost never see on these types of units. I Higley recommend these.
This is a great record player
Prefer the look of this to the 6 in 1 victrola from before.looks so upto date.great video.
I agree!
Thank you!
I absolutely love mine!! I have had it for years and I haven't changed the styuls yet and it still has great sound I will be buying another one for my birthday
Great follow up. I've just ordered one of these for the living room. Love the design and it sounds great in your video. Can't wait to give it a try 🙂
The belt is probably already shot on that cassette deck, definitely a bummer. Glad everything else seems good!
I have a quick question so mine is having an issue with switching gears and stuff I guess easiest way to say it it will go to Bluetooth to cd even though I only want it to go to see D do you by chance know what that means?
To have a piece of home audio equipment that fails (tape deck) within a couple of months and also does not lower the tone arm lift enough to allow the stylus to track a record properly is shocking.
I know that this is not anywhere approaching audiophile however it should, at least, be able to perform the basic functions it has been designed to do. My fear is that someone will buy this thinking they can use it to relive their old music collections and will be disappointed in its build quality and basic functionality. Again, I am under no illusions of what to expect from a device like this but basic functionality surely must be a priority?
Rip
The tape player might add an interesting effect to "3 little fishies."
this is a really nice looking unit, and would be great if the tape player worked...i am one of these people who likes everything to work correctly...and have had 2 purchases on these style of units where the tape players never worked....thankfully now my 2 all in one units work great, apart from one..where the auto stop does not function.....there`s always something..lol...good that it performs for what you want it to do..some nice music there by the way...very tropical...
I like those Spinnn o Ramma records.
That's a rather cool looking player. It's a pity about the cassette. I think if it's been stored somewhere like a warehouse for quite some time I expect the tape heads would need cleaning, which could probably only be done with a head cleaner cassette as it's a slot loading one. Either that or the belt might be shot and needs to be replaced. Also I've learnt that some cassettes like C90's or higher may be too long and have too much tape on the reel for a small basic player like that to deal with. Try playing a couple of shorter ones on it and see if plays those better.
I just bought mine, I liked the look so much. I plan to just buy a better quality tip and hopefully it will sound better and be better for my records.
Just what I'm thinking! What tip did you buy?
the tape player is such a shame. I really want a tape / vinyl player. they always seem to skimp on the cassette part
I think your tape player problem can be blamed on the fact your unit is a preproduction model, or one with a very early serial number. It generally takes a month or three to work out early production hangups.
I bought one of these brand new but the problem that the volume is so quiet when I use vinyl player any idea ???
What a great review! I just got one. I look forward to plenty of wonderful listening.
It looks amazing, Im thinking about getting one, but here in Europe it costs almost double of what it costs in the US :-/
Does anyone know of any or recommend any Diamond replacement stylus to get or where to get it from? Because I don’t think the stylus that come with this 8 in 1 player is diamond right?
I ordered the 8 in 1 but just canceled it for this after seeing your two reviews!
the cartridges those use really don't sound bad at all someone on youtube put one in a
Collaro changer to replace the dead ev26 . I actually liked the chou denshi better
Your platter wobbles too! I just got the 4 in 1 and my platter is wobbling a bit more than I'd like but I cant find anything on fixing it
A lot of these players have platter wobble
Its usually due to variations in the molded plastic platter...shouldn't cause audible issues however.
@@Recordology Ive reached out to the company for assistance with it. Just hoping not to damage my records in the long term
Suggestion on the cassette player: find something to.keep the tape level and fully connected to the mechanism, even if it's only your finger(s). You will get much better sound if the tape is not drooping--especially if it's an older tape. I don't like side-loading tape players much for that reason. But I put up with mine on my Victrola Empire Mid-Century, since it's mostly focused on playing LP's and 45's because it's in my front room. I don't use the tape player that often. That's a job for my Jensen 1250 with a dual cassette deck, which is in my bedroom.
Hey I can’t tell from the video but does your volume knob ever spike the volume at certain points? I got one and it spiked and I exchanged it and the new one spikes even more than before. I’m wondering if I just got super unlucky getting two shitty ones but just curious what your experience with the volume knob is.
Not on mine so far.....does it just spike to loud volume for a split second?
@@Recordology mm not exactly. The whole turning of the knob is a smooth uniform increase/decrease. There is a three points on my knob where it isn’t a smooth increase but more of like a pop up when going up and a pop down when going down
very interesting.... I haveant come accross this.
@@StrawberryKilla yes! mine does exactly this.. I thought I was the only one.
Because of this video I bought one . Comes in the mail tommorow. 😁
I'm curious if anyone has experienced a loud grumbling noise from the player whenever you play a CD. I've played about 20 different CDs, and some make the player grumble really loud, others quieter, and others there's no grumble at all.
Also, it's not the CDs. I have other record players that I've tested with and the CDs play perfectly on them.
I have a Victrola 8-in-1 and yes there is a grumbling sound (but not loud on my unit - can only hear it when I stand next to it) when I put in a CD but it only lasts for a few seconds and then is quiet. Don't know why but as long as the player works and the noise does not get worse (don't think it will_ I will not complain. That sound does not interfere with the CD content.
Update March 2024. I returned the 8-in-1 to the company offering the extended warranty because 1) the CD player got even worse. The skipping issue became more persistent and the the metal door in front of the tray did not open and close properly and the tray jammed.2) The radio (FM only) started to periodically stop and I know it was not the reception. So I am looking for another unit but am hesitant to purchase another Victrola all-in-one.
I have owned this unit for just over 2 years and records play very slowly now. I have changed the belt and stylus and it hasn't changed anything. Perhaps it could be the motor which is failing? I'm upset but maybe time for me to purchase another unit now?
Brilliant player. Excellent review as always. Where's your platter mat?
Thank you - mine has the rubber nubs only....its a very early production unit.
Knock on wood, the tape deck on mine sounds awesome, so far!
I love mine 1 year latter!
I just got mine, but the turntable doesn't turn around. I'm very curious about it.
Thank you for your sharing. Would you recommend which one should be chose 8-in-1 (VTA-600B-ESP)or 6-in1 (VTA-270B-ESP)
One more Idea--carefully clean the tape player, either manually or by a cassette designed for that purpose.
Hi, thank you for this review. I recently bought this system and although I love it, I'm a little disappointed with how much I skips on newer records and I don't hear any of the bass the music has. It's as if all treble. I was wondering if you happen to know if adding speakers would actually help at all. Thanks in advance!
I have one of these, but I’ve been having an issue with it turning just sliiiiightly too fast and slightly higher pitched and I’m not sure what to do to fix it. I got it for free from my boss, so obviously I wouldn’t be able to take it back. Any thoughts?
The record player sounds out of tune and I think it’s the belt but I don’t know how to change it. Any tips?
Just to satisfy my curiosity or just for jitters, I'd love to see you take the unit apart. I think your followers would also be curioud.
Would you recommend the Crosley Rhapsody or this one? They both have the look I’m going for and I’m very new to record players.
Better yet go with the AudioTechnica LP60X..... very very affordable and outstanding quality! You will need powered speakers however.....
does it convert Vinyl or cassett music to mp3 files? Thank you!
Not this one....
Just bought one for my girlfriend. Came with a USB cable. Pretty sure you can send it to a laptop or desktop then download it to a thumb drive.
Excelente amigo, sería genial hacer un tutorial del cambio de aguja. Gracias
Thank you! ruclips.net/video/t8v4gW_K-F8/видео.html
@@Recordology thanks man, greetings from Guatemala
So you have a thing for Hawaiian music.....😀😀😀
I may have asked you before, but which is your favorite all in one system? You like this one, but is it your favorite?
One suggestion: see if you can fix the tape player, and report back with the results. It would be a service to your audience if you could report that the tape player can or can’t be fixed. That would save the hassle of sending it back for a replacement if we know that if the tape player can be fixed.
I would say this is my favorite all in one.....
I'm considering this one. I have a great CD collection, however few vinyl. I'd like a machine that could save space and play both, so this one looks promising. Do I need to worry about record longevity with this one?
it's very beautiful, but the first time I used it in cd player mode it turned off and won't turn on again, it's a shame
Hey there! Just got this unit for X-mas and am new to record players in general. Followed the set up instructions (and tightened the screw) but the platter has significant wobble, all the records I’ve tried (brand new) sound distorted/warbly and change pitch occasionally (unlistenably bad). Is this user error or do you suggest I return it?
I think I'm having the same issue with mine & came here looking for possible solutions...
It’s a pity about the cassette player not working, I also am one who likes everything working the way it’s meant to & it’s driving me nuts my cassette player isn’t working … ugh …. Mine is making a static sound when a tape is inserted, tried flipping it to the other side and got a cassette tape kit cleaner but both made no difference. I have an old tape & a new modern tape but both play static sounds. Any recommendations or videos on how to fix this as its really annoying me not working?
Like watching your videos, but I was wondering if you could connect this Victrola to a TV when watching movies?
I just got this and in the picture and video it looks like there are other lights around the knobs that go on when you power it up, besides the tuning dial. Mine only lights up around the tuning dial, is that right? Just wondering if any of my lights are defective. Thanks!
It should just light up around the dial....
Record-ology thank you! I appreciate your help and thorough videos!
I have this record player and love it but worry that recently I've seen a lot of talk about players that don't have a counterweight on the back of the arm could eventually damage your records. I don't want to get a new record player if I really don't have to, but I don't want to damage my records. Any advice would be awesome. Thank you!
Can you shut the lid while playing?
Yes
i have a victrola vta -800B it is a little different from this one you have on video but, the radio works fine sounds good ,but the turn table turns on and runs but there is no sound only you can hear the record songs but like whispering. and i wanted to know is there a way to fix it as for some reason the record player does not produce sound?
Mine is about 1 year old and has stopped turning on. I replaced the cable but no joy. The central light on the dial flicks on when the switch is turned on and immediately goes out and no power. Any ideas folks? 🙂
My turntable is playing slower than it used to. Is there a way I can adjust the speed?
When was this released to public? I got one on sale 2 days ago.
It was late 2018 I believe ....
Where's the 8 track player? lol
Do you know what type/brand of cartridge i can buy if it needs to be replaced? Is there a reference or something? Thank you!
I just got mine yesterday and came across an issue where it simply shuts down and loses power when connected to bluetooth after about 20 minutes. Ever heard of this issue?
Figured it out more or less, the system appears to go into "economic stand-by mode" after 15 minutes. But when I'm listening to bluetooth that doesn't make much sense does it? Faulty programming.
oh no
What were the songs you played on CD?
Also what is the name of the CD and the record?
I’ve got one would you recommend connecting it to external speakers?
Meh - it will make a small difference.
Hi what is the number stylus for this and can you change it to diamond
i have seen other people who got a diamond stylus on this unit..however they are easy to replace..just use your thumb nail to lever the red plastic cart downwards from the front top,,,and then click up the new cart in place till it snaps into position....diamond ones can be got on amazon and if you can get a metal shank going down to the stylus from a rubber bit,so much the better,,,record ology has done videos on replacing these carts,,,,here`s the link...ruclips.net/video/XtFBIa39U0U/видео.html&ab_channel=Record-ology...
hey so my player is a little slow and the sound is wonky, does anyone know how to fine tune the speed on this model. Everything else about it is great but i dont know how to fix my problem
Do these fit older records? Since their bigger records I'm always thinking they won't fit. Thanks
It fits 7,10, and 12 inch records
What player would you recommend for Pop records?
Is it as loud as modern day speakers?
Small ones perhaps....
Is the cassette player broken, or is that just how it sounds? lol
my cds stopped spinning on mine has this happened to anyone and do you know how to fix it?
Are there any upgrade recommendations to improve the sound?
If the sound issue is with the record get a diamond stylus - that will improve the sound and give you around 1000 sides playing time.
If the sound issue is with the other components then call Victrola or the gentleman at Record-ology.
I can't understand why the vinyl player gives problems with music... pop?!!?
Can you use the turntable with the lid cover down?
Absolutely yes. This was demonstrated in the original review. When looking for an all-in-one I always look for a unit with a lid that covers the record completely.
Does anyone know how to transfer vinyl to mp3? I'm returning it if I can't do this.
Put a RCA cable on OUT connectors , connected to a soundcard or microphone in on your computer and record the sound on an audio capture software
Vinyl album name ? Please !!
yall listen to spongebob music in the bedroom?
im intrigued
It sounds like it came from Spongebob
Mine doesn’t work
I blew out the speaker on mine 😬 had to connect external speakers
uh oh!
Do external speakers need an independent power source? I am trying to get better sound out of mine
@@AngerThePeople Passive ones require amplification, but if they are active that means they have their own included power source inside the speaker housing. You could look up the Mackie CR3-X as an example of cheap active monitors that will play music out of the box.
You definitely have a poorly built or installed tape player on this unit. I haven't had any problems with mine, other than it doesn't like extremely old or poor quality cassettes. I can sometimes work around the issue, and sometimes not. But the player itself is not to blame and works fine. The guarantee on that unit of yours is likely expired, but I'd call Innovative Technologies anyway and see if they're willing to help you out, or maybe give you a discount on a newer model of the same style.
Note the current Victrola name has nothing to do with the famous Victrola name
It does. Innovative Technology owns the brand outright.
Can you listen to this on bluetooth speaker such as like bose andharman kardon?
Does it have a preamp?
No it does not.
I have owned 2 victrola record players the suitcase one was poorly made it quit working only after a month of buying it I had to get another one that's an better quality
Yeh that tape player might need cleaning.
My CD player won’t work
Mine works still, but does your record player make these loud grumbling noises whenever you play a CD?
the cassette must need a new belt
Can you make a video at night?
Spongebob music
cassette player sounds like a dry bad belt
Actually this thing is just a hunk of junk, don't buy one. I bought one recently and the tuner really stinks, picks up next to no radio stations. I go to play a record and it doesn't work(yes I do know about the screw) Motor doesn't work on it. I go to listen to a cd and it makes a noise the whole time it's playing. I'm not even going to try the cassette player, but no worries the company will fix it as long as you pay to ship it back which is 3/4 of the actuall cost of it. Spend a little more for something better. It does look nice sitting on the shelf though.
