Black Panther is an upcoming 2018 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero Black Panther. I bet you Michael B. Jordan feels A LOT more comfortable playing Erik Killmonger than Human Torch, if you know what I'm talking about (And I'm not talking about because Fantastic Four's bad reception). Every question won't be HOW DO YOU FEEL BEING BLACK or fans won't say HUMAN TORCH CAN'T BE BLACK. Thing is, Erik Killmonger is black. So, I'm happy that Jordan found a new Marvel character to portray that he can actually put his acting chops into without getting hate.
he should feel comfortable. Because he is playing one hell of a great and formidable character. Not just because Killmonger is black. Though that helps too.
Y'know it works both ways. There's an even bigger outcry when a non-white character is cast with a white actor/actress. Most recently, Tilda Swinton was lambasted for being cast as the Ancient One in Doctor Strange.
Michael B Jordan's Human Torch came under more scrutiny than all the other white characters Marvel changed from white to black for their movies, mainly because Sue Storm was white in that movie _(played by Kate Mara)_. She and Jonny Storm are full-blood brother and sister in the comics, which plays a big part of their characters, so it was strange to change that to where they were not blood-related and Susan being adopted in that movie.
i.e. not only did Fox change the race of Johnny, but his blood-relation to his sister Susan _(no longer blood-relations)_. In the end, that was the least of that crapfest of a movies problems, but there you have it.

Nothing could save Fantastic Four. That script was garbage. The Ben Grimm character was the worst cast. Since when was Ben Grimm a midget (little person)? Miles Teller was bad. I picture Reed Richard more Anglo white boy than jewish guy from Yonkers. I like Michael but I need an INTERESTING Johnny Storm; no matter the race. Oh hell, leave Johnny a white boy. An INTERESTING white boy! Sue wasn't hot and she too was uninteresting. Dr Doom is a bore in both versions of this comic. What am I saying? All the players were boring!! I didn't give a damn about ANY of them. BORING!!

An attractive cast doesn't exactly equal a good movie, otherwise High School Musical would be Oscar worthy.
+The Greatest That's not what I was getting at. This cast is beautiful not only by their looks but their achievements. It's beautiful that we're finally getting a movie with colored people where the movie has nothing to do with slavery or any of that. The cast that you see in this video, are people who have worked hard and fought for where they are. This cast is more than just being beautiful appearance wise, but beautiful in other areas. You have Lupita an academy award winner. Lupita deserved every award she gets because she's good at what she does. Michael B. Jordan, even though being in movies that weren't high praised, he's still a good actor and I think he's an even better actor than ever when I saw Creed. Danai in Walking Dead was in my opinion, her big break. Now she's doing a big Marvel movie, and I can only see it going up for her from here. Chadwick, I don't really remember him before the recent Captain America movie, but when he plays this role, I just get so excited because he becomes the character and portrays it so nicely. If you put all those achievements and where they are at and how they got here, this cast is pretty beautiful and a cast being really attractive appearance wise, is a bonus for any movie.

I swear it looked like Bozman was nearly in tears and praying while he was on stage. Some say it looked like he was shy, which my be the case, but to me I saw a man who was emotionally enduring a moment where his life choices lead to a groundswell of success and gave him a reward that many will never know. He seemed to be taking the moment in with grace and poise. If he was nervous, I can respect him for it. As that shows he was wanting to present himself and his current project with dignity and respect. If he was acting the way he was because he was overwhelmed emotionally, I can respect that, too.
This film seems to mean a lot to the actors, as well as many in the black community. As it is truly a strong, moral character. One that does not have a criminal record or a stereotypical "black" persona. He's a king, he's a warrior, he's a leader, and a very smart man, with a very strong moral code. There is much to respect in the character and, as fictional characters go, he's a good one to point to as a role model for a young child. That's something that, sadly, isn't often offered from the mainstream media outlets. So, if it stays true to the character we all know and love, as it seemed to in Civil War, then I think this film will be exceptional.
I just also want to point out, what an embarrassment of riches they have in the cast. Jesus, every one of those actors have been in some weighty roles and knocked it out of the part. I think everyone on stage should, or could, be Oscar or Emmy winners. It's crazy to think about that ensemble. I don't think "Heat" had as much talent per capita. Say what you will about Marvel but goddamn are they amazing in their ability to cast the perfect actors to take up these iconic roles.
Both Lupita and Danai looked gorgeous.

It's nice :-) Now I only wish they'd added Storm. I would REALLY love to see her character used properly. I don't think the Xmen movie has ever done much with her and it's always disappointed me. She was one of my favorite Xmen growing up.
