Just got an Iridium, it’s nice to see how close it gets to a lot of different amps, the difference in your video was more noticeable on the second song, something in the mid frequencies but it’s funny how my ear was used to it the more I listened to it. Great video
I must say they both sound pretty different here but thats because you used the wrong channel on the Iridium for this match. Try out the Vintage, it sounds very similar to the famous Revv Purple channel (Thomas and EytschPi42 ran a comparison with the Revv 100P and there they used also the Vintage). The modern channel is more in the ENGL ballpark.
I'd go with D20 just because it feels more dynamic and it has made every pedal I've thrown at it sound great. The Iridium and D20 are obviously very different products though and if you're not specifically going to a pedal platform type of amp, the Iridium is also a great choice.
Really close! Slightly shifted mid range, probably because of the G20. Distortion style is plain the same. I'm so happy that I got my g3 pedal 2 years ago, it works so well.
Yep, G3 is my favourite drive pedal of all time just because it does those few sounds so well. They never feel like a compromise, as with some other pedals I've had in the past.
@@CatPickStudios It's more of a character thing in the high end. Both sounds are great but Iridium to me at least is that pinch closer to the real tube amp which I love. Maybe I am biased :D
Great video it's a close call. What is weird to me is I have a revv 100p(the old model not the new one) but the amp 1 and the g3 seems to have more gain then the amp. I run a mud killer infront of my 100p to get it sound how I like. But good job 👍.
@@CatPickStudios clarity , big sound like a pipe organ vibe , more focus high gain sound , the clean is more open than other amp , versatile , i prefer a real tube amp sound

Between the clean on the D20 vs the Iridium - which do you prefer?

Here's the video of the Revv vs. the Amp1 that someone else already mentioned with the timesteamp: ruclips.net/video/Qf15L3mmcZU/видео.html

Iridium sounds more amp like, maybe because it is amp. It has more "tube" like feel. Both sound great!
Well techically there's tubes in the D20 but I get what you mean. I think I would have been able to tweak these even closer with more time. :)

It’s a close call, I’m still leaning towards the REVV. the Blug is more affordable but the Imbedded Two notes is the real kicker for me.
Yeah listening back these get CLOSE.
Amp 1 definitely has more clarity. Amp like.

Thank you, much appreciated!
Great review my frind, are da Revv g3 good to play grunge? G3 RULES!!!!
Now that you mentioned I think G3 could do a killer grunge tone with the right guitar. I kinda want to try that out now.
@@CatPickStudios tkanks my frind Revv g3 rules!!!!!!
Wish you would have done just the guitar. Sounded muddy.
OK.
definitely, iridium wins
What do you especially like about it more?
