    Dude, killer as always. Love your playing. Thomas Blug is a genius. His amps are amazing. I’ve played Hughes and Kettners for year because I was always impressed with what he did with them. This amp is definitely on my short list of amps to add to the arsenal.

    I'm so glad I found find this video. I've got a digital practice amp currently and I've known for a while whenever I upgrade I wanted to get a cab with a Creamback H, and lately I've also been looking at the Iridium here. They sound freaking fantastic together in this video, really makes me think these'll be a fun pairing.

    Damn, thats exactly my own setup. An Iridium, your Solar Killertone and Celestions. Total riffage!
    Thomas is a genius with all his products. He is an excessive guitar (tone) nerd and even if he is no metal guy himself, he combined his own knowledge with that of many metal players to create the Iridium and I must say it's astonishing. If you are into metal and on the road the Iridium is made for you, whatever the genre you are in, the Iridium will fit you for sure.
    Thomas also has his excellent weekly "Academy Of Tone Stream" and although he is in Germany and you are in Texas it would be completely awesome if you could nevertheless do someday a Academy Of Tone Episode with each other. Would totally dig that!

      Does it make a good bedroom amp or should I go with a modeller?

    • @nihilistictanuki6947
      @nihilistictanuki6947 3 года назад

      @@brandonf5432 this beast is extremely loud but has a half power mode (still about 50-60W) which can produce with master around 1 a suitable sound for home usage (could be still too loud for bedroom but your neighbohrs wont call the cops). For real quit practicing it has a record out where you can also connect your headphones (comes with a very good built in IR). For excellent bedroom sound I would suggest a smaller cab and a power soak for best results.

    I’m late to the Iridium party but I just got mine a couple of days ago and to say I’m impressed would be an understatement.
    This thing is LOUD!!! Not only that, it easily goes toe to toe with my Splawn and SLO and even can cop my Silver Jubilee’s sound on the vintage mode.
    I’ve got one of those Universal Audio OX stomp box cab sim’s on the way for DI to the mixer live.
    Not much I could say I’d have done differently…maybe used conventional switches that are easily replaced. I’m using a 2 button switch instead of the built in switches. I’m not sure how durable they are.

    i reckon this beats the helix and core and studio devil ive had them all tried into neve api preamps prism gear and for clarity that tube adds the right amount of transient bite to the note to let you get on with making music, not feeling the flat experience from 2d plugs and models, i used to use tube pedals into plugs models etc, but this has an amp too so can add a mic to cab and blend against the di gets it done bang for the buck

    How do you feel the 'tube' sound fares against other tube power amp sections? To me for some reason it sound more tube like than a lot of bigger class A-class A/B rigs.. What do your ears say? Not to mention that riff at 1:35 is tasty as fuck!! Great video!

    • @killertone
