Well the crossing has outlived its designer. Back in the 90s the late Bob Andrew designed Manea and a few other level crossings on that line. Bob’s dad was a Concorde pilot and insisted his son had a proper job!
I love halogen lights, but unfortunately the crossing near my house which had them, which was also an AOCL with continuous bells on all four wigwags (for some reason?) was replaced recently to an AOCL+B.
I'm surprised the relay worked, as it had faults in my last 2 visits. And because that's a wrap, it's time to catch a train up north for what's to come... 👀
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings they mess up the flashing sequence, which is rather ugly. You'd likely stereotype that at more older and retro crossings with halogen warning lights
@@EastAngliaLevelCrossingsUK Manea is basically a Marston Vale crossing separated from the rest of them I feel. It's very similar to Lidlington with the relays - just part of a 2004-ish batch that weren't done particularly well tbh
Great video! I’ve been here, one my favourite crossings I’ve been to!!!
Thanks! It is a nice one
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings indeed.
Outstanding video of such a cool crossing! Nice catch of the 37s aswell. Like the angle in the last lowering
Thank you very much!
Those 37s were massive! 800 had a spedometer fault which is the sole reason for the convoy up to Derby. Nice video 👍
Thank you! Interesting to note.

Nice Videos! So nice to still have Halogens here! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
Great video, crossing, and catch! Love how you can hear the levers in the signal box being thrown. Looks like a lens gasket is coming off at 4:22?
Thank you very much! Always love a mechanical signal box. The lens looked quite strange like that.
Excellent video, love the halogen lights 👍
Thank you! So do I!

What crossing was it?
@@joeplaysgame These people call it "Dalfaber" - it's on a heritage line in the Scottish Highlands

Absolutely!
I've funnily enough not seen its relays fault on any of my three visits here, but I've sure seen what they can do.
