this is the opening of the same show for SU's 16th birthday. death was the ending where she was crucified. it is a wild version but like other songs only Babymetal can get away with this and make it work. the neckbrace is from the headbanger video in a tribute to a metal band member for another group that hurt his neck banging.
This one was Yoshiki, the founder, drummer, composer and leader of the legendary japanese band X-japan. He got his neck damaged from intensive headbanger and also for this savage way of playing drums (also he never have got health anyway). Yoshiki is simply speaking a live legend in the metal scene worldwide. Maybe not know for a lot of people, but he puts the foundations of rock and metal music in Japan in the 80, change the concept the society have of this music and a lot more thing. He wears for years a neck protector and even go under surgery not much years ago to replace one of the neck vertebrae. The producer of Babymetal is a huge fan of this band and a lot of babymetal songs have little tributes for him. It´s difficult to put in a few lines who important are Yoshiki for the music in Japan, maybe a good way to understand is seeing the documentary film who made Stephen Kijak a few years ago

Just had to double-check that you've heard the usual version of 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!!'.
I prefer the heavier version of this song, but if Su wanted to have a rave dance party for her sixteenth birthday, that's cool with me. : )
This lipsynced version of 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (Night of 15 Mix)' was also performed at 'Legend D' in 2012, for her 15th birthday.
The neck brace is an homage to Yoshiki, the drummer/songwriter for the legendary Japanese metal band X-Japan, who headbanged so much he had to wear one to prevent further injury.
As far as what the statue represents, here's a translation of the introduction for this concert:
"The Second Impact. It was in the winter of 1997.
It was the birth of a new warrioress who transcends the law of nature, "SU-METAL".
Charged with the mission of the Metal Resistance, in exchange for her own life,
she waged a battle in the legendary "special night of fifteen".
Executing the Metal Resistance in many music festivals in 2013,
SU-METAL made the legends one after another.
Before the birth of a new goddess, she returned beside the holy mother.
The holy mother said,
"A soul is repeated. Return to me, tracing your memory…"

And yes, I know it's track playback, but if there is a more metal version of Ave Maria, I'd like to know about it, please. :)
P.s. and don't say Nightwish, I already know about Floor and Marco, but we can't have the Metal Goddess of the North go up against the Metal Goddess of the East. Su-metal vs Floor. No. The world is not ready for that.
P.p.s. I know that's not Su singing Ave Maria on the track, but... just for everyone's safety, can't have anything even remotely suggestive of Su vs Floor, or we are all doomed.

Rick Wagner has done his usual excellent job with the explanation for this version. I really didn't like this the first time (couple of times) I heard it - 'Headbanger' is a favourite of mine and this just wasn't right. However, it has grown on me to the point where I actually enjoy it ... no idea how or why, but that's Babymetal I guess.
You did see the live of the real 'Headbanger' just 4 days ago - and from this same concert (remember the smoke cannons and the gong?).

I'ved read all of Rick Wagner's comment in all Babymetal vids that I watched. I could easily say that he is a resident of the foxhole because of all the information he has from BM(wonder where he gets it)
I always thought the statue was the virgin mary (jesus' mum) and, just as you ask who it is (1:25), the hymn/song 'Ave Maria' starts up so I'm still guessing the same. Maybe it represents a goddess but they do smash it up at the end of the gig when Su transforms to a goddess/new state so only The Fox God knows, I guess. But it's definitely not anything to do with Babymetal and our slavish devotion to Queen/Goddess Su making us a cult. Because it's definitely not a cult. Note that on this Headbanger version all the sound is pre produced (by bloody Skrillex, I think) and the band is the old one with people dressed up in the bones costumes and pretending to play their instruments. It's different and, as ever, fun and danceable but I prefer the smoke cannons and Su's big microphone and the gong ending versions. Someone sounds like he's been entranced by Su's laser like death stare! We all have, so no worries!
I have read from various forums, and fans think that it is the Virgin Mary, but with oriental features, and that it is also a nod to Metallica. It is not that they are against the Catholic religion, or they did it to offend someone of that religion.
I think their is something about Su-metal's divine mom or was it the Fox God's mom in the lore...?

This is the only thing Babymetal has ever done that I do not like. The proper version of Headbanger is one of my top 5 but this version sucks. But, If they had fun doing it, I can put up with it. Lol
Seeing them live in Japan was one of the greatest moments in my life. The vibe is so different from a western crowd. If you ever see them, make sure you turn up at least 5 or 6 hours before the concert to meet all the cool fans.
I was at Utrecht day 2, some of the regular fans there who travel all over said: the atmosphere was the similar as in Japan. So I won't say it's impossible.
wish i could see them live i have seen so many bands over the years metallica, slayer, anthrax, megadeath, ac/dc, van halen, poison, sepultura, pantera, kiss, whitesnake, ozzy and more but i cant anymore for health reasons
Moa or Yui also sing this song when they are in birthday too, and you will find something different, when Su stop singing then gives the mic to Moa or Yui, and then Su dance completely, without singing.

Fun fact: in 1997 I was 20yo and usually into raves with some hardcore techno music that sounded pretty much like this version of Headbangeeeeerrrrr!! :)
Of all the Babymetal things I expect to confuse Westerners, the giant statue of the Virgin Mary and the song "Ave Maria" are not among them. I'm not a religious guy at all, but familiarity with the Virgin Mary and her song are pretty inescapable in the West, I thought. Ave Maria is also the theme song to Hitman games, as well as being in countless movies and TV shows. The neck brace is a symbol of headbanging, since it hurts your neck.

I went to one BM concert in Japan and it is dozens of times better than live here. The neck brace is an homage to XJapan, a Japanese power-metal band. Good for you to use the correct title for this song "Head-bangya!" It is a mix of headbang (which means headbanging in Japanese) and bangya (which means band girl, or "groupie").
Is representative of the Virgin Mary. Is a take on with Metallica once did in a concert. This isn't the best representation of headbanga.
The song is basically about a girl who goes out to a metal concert for the first time. When she was 15. On that night she falls in love with the music.

The source tape is Maria Callas, the great Italian Diva, accompanied by piano. All the other instrumentation is the Skeleton Band. The statue is Mother Maria.
Yoshiki, the drummer of X-Japan cracked a couple of vertebrate in his neck headbanging, and for years had to wear a neck brace in concert. The neck brace is an honor to him, X is sort of the Iron Maiden of Japan, and the neck brace has become a symbol of Babymetal.
You still haven't seen Headbanger live, this is the Night of 15 remix version. The heavy version is better in my opinion

I wasn't sure about this remix at first since Headbanger!! is my second top favorite (first one being Megitsune), but it grew on me and it's been on my playlist next to Iine!, Uki Uki Midnight, and Megitsune (Tekina Remix). And yeah, looked through your videos and you did watch the live performance of the original version of Headbanger!! from this same show a few days ago.

Not gonna lie. I absolutely despise this. It is simply horrible. I’m a huge BABYMETAL fan, and I love the risks they take. But this is a massive miss for me.
T-Mac, thank you for checking out this rare (dub step remix) version of Headbanger. It was only performed twice, so not many RUclips reactors ever get to it. Basically, you are doing an awesome job. There is no such thing as a bad BabyMetal song. And at your pace, you may need to start looking at BabyMetal roots. Before BabyMetal, Su-metal was in a group called Karen Girl's and all 3, Su, Moa and Yui were in a group called Sakura Gakuin together where they met and where BabyMetal was started as a heavy music sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin. There is so much more for you to explore, the foxhole is deeper than you can imagine.

The statue is the Blessed virgin Mary, in the apparition of Akita. The opera opening is the Catholic Hail Mary prayer in Latin.
No, it is not the Hail Mary. It is Schubert's "Ellen's dritter gesang" (Ellen's third song) taken from his Lady of the Lake. And the lyrics are in the original German (except the words Ave Maria which are of course Latin). It is a prayer sung by Ellen to The Blessed Virgin asking for rescue.

You ask questions sometimes about stuff we already told you about 3-4 times but thats ok I guess plenty of infos to absorb. Would be cool if you paid more attention to what the comments say. Would also be cool if in the subsequent videos you do of BABYMETAL you acknowledged that your previous questions have been answered, that way we really feel like there's communication between you and us :D.

The night of 15 remix was done by the same guy who made Megitsune (and a bunch of other Babymetal songs).
Actually, in the normal version of Headbanger live performance she has a microphone stand, I think they are praising at the microphone stand, but she didn't have it in this performance.
Probably the only bad thing about this song/live performance, it's lipsynced because it's a remix with a bunch of effects on the vocals.
