4:34 I love this version!! The way she articulates the lyrics, singing them in a more staccato fashion. Su metal and moa metal sing this part legato. So momo's staccato version really stands out to me. Also, I've seen moa's version and she doesn't seem to have the same energy as momo. So yes, Momometal shines very bright here.
@@kronkorken_ none of it is "playback" as it usually is. all screams, growls etc are prerecorded by them and then re-used cause there is no need to ruin your vocal cords in todays time when you can easily do it like this. that way they can continue babymetal for at least 50 years instead of 5 years because their voices are dead.

For years, I've wondered why they kept the twin tail hairstyle for both Yui, Moa, and Momo. Technically, there are some pictures of Su in her Sakura Academy days with twin tails while the other two had ponytails. After watching a particular song's choreography multiple times, I just realized that when they raise the twin tails in the air, it's supposed to resemble devil horns.
It's how the girls are styled. Su pony tail, the other two pigtails. They also do it with their outfits as well, or used to more. Like if Moa and Yui wore red skirts Su's would be black. However Su looked the other two would be styled in an inverse.
Babymetal is metal, as long as Su is singing live. The first few minutes were metal, then it turned into a playback show. This performance is a perfect example for the haters to use to claim they aren't metal, sadly.

Su loves stepping back and letting one of the other ladies have their turn. She doesn't mind being front and center most of the time, but enjoys taking a break from the spotlight and letting someone else have fun for a bit.
@@traugdori feel like this idea of letting the other girls do singing and the other two do backup dances is such a good idea considering all the girls used to be traditional idols, and i still consider babymetal a metal music idol group cause of their origins. I would LOVE to see them start rotating the vocalists for songs. If they're gonna still maintain aspects of idol groups, I'd love for them to try to take some of the less limiting aspects of idol groups such as rotating solos. All 3 girls are talented but i really want to hear moa get a solo too

I mean we're starting to see it already, how massive of a deal she's becoming for the trio's performance. Their crowd control even in smaller venues where half the people have no idea who they are before the show was already immaculate, yet her added growl on Metali really became the cherry on top of that song and it sure can bring together ONE SERIOUS MOSHING PIT!!! I´m 54 years old and at least 40 years a metal/punk-fan and I hate all those gatekeeping idiots who discredit everything that doesn`t fit in their picture what metal is or is not...I like good music, that energizes me and/or makes me feel happy and Babymetal does both. I´m definately not their biggest fan but their most known songs certainly hit a spot in my music taste: Headbanger, Monochrome, Megitsune are all great and their colabs with EC or Bring me the Horizon are really uinbelievable good. ANd Su knows how to perform...!
As much as I still miss Yui out of nostalgia of having been one of the earlier fans when they first started getting international traction, but Momokos been one hell of an amazing addition to the group.
You know what? If it wasn’t for Momo-Metal and her version of Headbanger, I wouldn’t have listened to BabyMetal at all. She was a missing piece I guess. I like their music now! Thanks Momo! Edit: this is not to say that BabyMetal’s music prior to Momo’s joining is bad (because I actually really enjoyed those songs for the most part), I’m just saying that if I never saw Momobanger, I probably wouldn’t have wanted to listen to the rest of BabyMetal’s songs (which are of BEAUTIFUL QUALITY).
i think that if you wanted to introduce someone to Babymetal, show them 4:15 to 5:00 and they'll understand pretty quickly what Babymetal is like. The way Momo can go from that growl/scream to her cutesy, high-pitched voice is really incredible and a massive contrast showing how she brings so much to the group. I also love how if you look at Su or Moa's renditions of Headbanger, they sing it very different to Momo. Momo's is special in that it's very staccato which I feel works well with her voice and is very unique. My favourite version of this song for sure.
Babymetal has changed a lot since they first debuted over 10 years ago, i think you should check out their old stuff to get a full context of how much they've evolved
I gotta admit, I never really cared much for Momo. But holy fucking hell, that scream, on top of her sweet cute voice, how could I not love her now? Why didnt they let her shine like this before? Moa is still my favorite but now I definitely won't be dismissing Momo as just a replacement anymore.

I got to work security at the barricade for one of their US stops on their recent tour with Dethklock and holy shit! The energy was insane! They put on such a great performance and have crazzzyyy crowd control like I've never seen!
Momoko Okazaki grabbed front and center that night and made it both HER style and gave the world a moment to remember. She has one of the sweetest singing voices I've ever heard, pure and sweet, but a switch gets flipped and Momometal goes from sweet and adorable to a death growl siren, she has mad, and I mean MAD vocal skills that are more than a lot of people expected from her, and she has range as well, I've said this somewhere else that if they utilize her vocals correctly she could be an amazing metal performer. Babymetal got the rarest of gems with Momometal, she became the living embodiment of talent, perseverance, skills, and heart. I will state this, I KNOW Yui 'Yuimetal' Mizuno is loving this version of Babymetal immensely, and I can see in my heart Tomato-kun is headbanging to this. I believe in heart she knows that Momometal is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and 💰 💰💰💰💰💰💰 and is ONLY going to get better. This needs to be Su and Momo's song every time (with the handover and all). The gutteral screams add so much. Such an awesome performance. I didn't think I'd ever fully warm up to whoever took Yui's place. It turns out that I just wasn't aware of how great Momo really is until I saw this. I think she's an excellent addition and I can't wait to see them live again soon.

I haven't been listening to baby Metal for a long time but the fact that they give the microphone to Momo I think shows the respect that her colleagues (original members) have for her. Something that not many bands do. I loved this version!
technically speaking it was for her birthday celebration, Su also did this with Moa and Yui for their 15th birthdays since the song is about a girl seeing a metal concert on her 15th birthday, then they did 20th birthday celebrations bc 20th birthdays are a big deal in Japan so this is for Momo's 20th birthday but i agree!! it's a massive sign of respect to be given the microphone for this performance and Momo definitely MORE than deserves her chance in the Headbanger spotlight

I just saw them live on their South American run with Slipknot. 4:30 pm, broad daylight, short set (about an hour) and minimal production (not even an LED screen in the background). They still blew my mind, haven't had that much fun in a metal show in ages. Now it's pretty obvious that once in my life in need to see them in Japan with this kind of set up

Typically I'm blown away by their dance routines but the crowd work during this makes me think of paid actors. Just phenomenal.

I´m 54 years old and at least 40 years a metal/punk-fan and I hate all those gatekeeping idiots who discredit everything that doesn`t fit in their picture what metal is or is not...I like good music, that energizes me and/or makes me feel happy and Babymetal does both. I´m definately not their biggest fan but their most known songs certainly hit a spot in my music taste: Headbanger, Monochrome, Megitsune are all great and their colabs with EC or Bring me the Horizon are really uinbelievable good. ANd Su knows how to perform...!

As much as I still miss Yui out of nostalgia of having been one of the earlier fans when they first started getting international traction, but Momokos been one hell of an amazing addition to the group.

You know what? If it wasn’t for Momo-Metal and her version of Headbanger, I wouldn’t have listened to BabyMetal at all. She was a missing piece I guess. I like their music now! Thanks Momo!
Edit: this is not to say that BabyMetal’s music prior to Momo’s joining is bad (because I actually really enjoyed those songs for the most part), I’m just saying that if I never saw Momobanger, I probably wouldn’t have wanted to listen to the rest of BabyMetal’s songs (which are of BEAUTIFUL QUALITY).
Hearing Momoko take the mic almost brought a tear to my eye.
i think that if you wanted to introduce someone to Babymetal, show them 4:15 to 5:00 and they'll understand pretty quickly what Babymetal is like. The way Momo can go from that growl/scream to her cutesy, high-pitched voice is really incredible and a massive contrast showing how she brings so much to the group. I also love how if you look at Su or Moa's renditions of Headbanger, they sing it very different to Momo. Momo's is special in that it's very staccato which I feel works well with her voice and is very unique. My favourite version of this song for sure.
I'd honestly never listened to them before their Electric Callboy collab but this is one of the coolest performances I've ever seen 🤘

I gotta admit, I never really cared much for Momo. But holy fucking hell, that scream, on top of her sweet cute voice, how could I not love her now? Why didnt they let her shine like this before?
Moa is still my favorite but now I definitely won't be dismissing Momo as just a replacement anymore.
This performance is something else, the opening takes you completely off guard in the best way and the way they get the crowd involved is something special

I got to work security at the barricade for one of their US stops on their recent tour with Dethklock and holy shit! The energy was insane! They put on such a great performance and have crazzzyyy crowd control like I've never seen!
Momoko Okazaki grabbed front and center that night and made it both HER style and gave the world a moment to remember.
She has one of the sweetest singing voices I've ever heard, pure and sweet, but a switch gets flipped and Momometal goes from sweet and adorable to a death growl siren, she has mad, and I mean MAD vocal skills that are more than a lot of people expected from her, and she has range as well, I've said this somewhere else that if they utilize her vocals correctly she could be an amazing metal performer.
Babymetal got the rarest of gems with Momometal, she became the living embodiment of talent, perseverance, skills, and heart. I will state this, I KNOW Yui 'Yuimetal' Mizuno is loving this version of Babymetal immensely, and I can see in my heart Tomato-kun is headbanging to this. I believe in heart she knows that Momometal is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and 💰 💰💰💰💰💰💰 and is ONLY going to get better.

This needs to be Su and Momo's song every time (with the handover and all). The gutteral screams add so much. Such an awesome performance. I didn't think I'd ever fully warm up to whoever took Yui's place. It turns out that I just wasn't aware of how great Momo really is until I saw this. I think she's an excellent addition and I can't wait to see them live again soon.
It helps if you realize Momo is Yui's _sucessor_ more than her _replacement_

I haven't been listening to baby Metal for a long time but the fact that they give the microphone to Momo I think shows the respect that her colleagues (original members) have for her.

technically speaking it was for her birthday celebration, Su also did this with Moa and Yui for their 15th birthdays since the song is about a girl seeing a metal concert on her 15th birthday, then they did 20th birthday celebrations bc 20th birthdays are a big deal in Japan so this is for Momo's 20th birthday
but i agree!! it's a massive sign of respect to be given the microphone for this performance and Momo definitely MORE than deserves her chance in the Headbanger spotlight

I just saw them live on their South American run with Slipknot. 4:30 pm, broad daylight, short set (about an hour) and minimal production (not even an LED screen in the background). They still blew my mind, haven't had that much fun in a metal show in ages. Now it's pretty obvious that once in my life in need to see them in Japan with this kind of set up
