  • For quite a few people, flying can be a stressful experience. Even folks who’ve been doing it for years will tell you that. Not only do you need to be a savvy passenger that organizes everything in advance, but you also need to be prepared for the unexpected. Some people even follow a strict schedule in order to be one step ahead.
However, this method isn’t always enough. There are certain things we tend to forget. For example, are you aware of the things you should never do before flying? For those of you who have no clue what this is about, here are some of the mistakes that you might not even know you’re making at the airport.

    SUMMARY:
    - If you lose your backpack at the airport, you have a good chance of finding it because it’s large. A smaller bag will be more difficult to spot, and if an opportunistic thief spots it, it’ll be easy for them to hide.
    - With the online check-in options, you somehow guarantee your arrival at the airport for your flight. So, the sooner you do it, the better.
    - You can always weigh your luggage at home, or you can restrict yourself from packing some necessities that are already available at the airport.
    - Right before your long-awaited journey, make sure you check some websites that show you the secret. For example, which seats have more leg room.
    - It’s better to invest in a good quality lock for security, or try a reusable cover that can keep your luggage nice and clean.
    - Many people automatically go to the first check-points that tend to be overcrowded. The main reason is that the last checkpoints don’t have a queue, and passengers assume that they’re closed.
    - Next time you travel, make sure you double check the amount of liquids you’re taking, and place them in a transparent pack to speed-up the process.
    - When trying a new cuisine or new food, you don’t know how your stomach will react to it, and doing that right before a flight is a huge no-no.
    - The best time for turbulence sensitive passengers to fly is during the winter, in the morning or late at night. And if you’re wondering why turbulence has the luxury to pick it’s time to shine, let’s get into some sciency stuff.
    - The airport is one of the most infectious places you can be in. So, having some anti-bacterial wipes and sanitizer to protect yourself is literally life-saving.
    - 93% of flyers experience jet lag. So, the best way to avoid this is by adjusting your watch, and maybe the time on your phone, to the time of your destination.

Fly as early in the morning as possible. The first flight out is less likely to be delayed because the plane it already at the airport, not flying in from somewhere else. And if you live in a crowded city, it's less stressful to drive to airport before the morning rush hour -- you can always sleep on the plane.

Since most people are right handed, their tendency is to go to the right. Anecdotal evidence has shown that lines to the left are generally shorter.

I have a couple important tips. These almost everyone know them already, but not a few people keep doing it!!!
1- Do not leave your luggage or personal objects unattended at the terminal!!!! that will trigger the terrorist alert, and the security protocol.
2- In the security point, do not feel funny and joke saying things like "bomb" or anything related, even though it´s a joke, it will activate the security protocol, and you will be arrested for investigation!!!
3-Do not forget to declare your money if it exceed ten thousand dollars, or its equivalent in other currency.
4- Do not act suspiciuos when the dog comes by you. XD lol
Of course this rules can be different depending on the country you are in, but those are international regulations.

    My Airport Tips:
    1. Arrive in the airport early as possible like 2 hours before the flight, in case security holds you off for a long time.
    2. Never joke about terrorist attacks or bombs. Security and airport police won't take it as a joke, and you will get arrested.
    3. Don't accept any luggage from strangers. Usually, luggage that you took from the strangers contain drugs or illegal substances, putting you in the big trouble.
    4. Usually, I prefer using check-in kiosks at the airport to save time.
    5. Leaving luggage unattended can trigger a terrorist alert. In addition, your luggage won't be there when you come back since it's been stolen.
    6. Try to be in front of the gate 1 hour before the flight, so you can board without having a problem.

I recently made two mistakes while flying
    1) I put my 2 passports in the travel bag...and $1,000 cash...then forgot to take it from airline counter. At security I discovered I was missing them. I ran back and fortunately they were still there at the same place I left them. Don't put cash and passports in the same place.
    2) There was a Wendys restaurant...with free refills..I refilled 3 times and it was a super sized cup. During the flight I had to go 4 times to the bathroom...and since I had a middle seat I had to inconvenience the passenger who sat in the aisle seat...would not have been easier if I had aisle seat...so don't drink plenty of liquids if you have window or middle seat.

    Another tip at #3
If you have multiple boxes, suitcases whatever you’re using... Don’t fill them up completely!! If you have some spare room in other luggage you can put the overweight items in there and you don’t have to pay for anything.
MAKE SURE, that those bags are at least 5 kg away from the total weight, so you can put the “rest” from the items in your baggage.
Tried it once and it changed my life trust me!! I fly about 8 times a year so it saves up quite some money!

Here are some tips from me -
1.Put a lock on your suitcase. This may seem obvious to some people, but not everyone does it.
    2. Put a sticker or label on your suitcase, especially if it’s a common color/pattern. This way, when collecting your luggage at your destination, you will know which suitcase is yours!
    3. Especially if you’re going on a long flight and going to sleep, always keep your seatbelt on when in your seat. It’s already hard enough to fall asleep on the plane, so if you take your seatbelt off and fall manage to fall asleep, but then get woken up by the flight attendant telling you to put a seatbelt on, it’s gonna be annoying.
    4. Have one responsible person in your group keep all the passports and tickets. It’s just easier, Trust me
I hope these tips helped at least someone!

As an aviation geek I just love the whole experience of being at an airport. It’s the whole experience, what I always do is buy a check in bag and board last that way I don’t have to worry about overhead luggage. I understand you can’t probably do this easily if flying for business and very frequently but I would rather be early and relax than be stuck in a security line or for some delay to happen on the way to the airport.

Most of the times, turbulance is caused by other planes as well. They create a small vortex at the wing tip. It will grow bigger and bigger. Thats why winglets are made. Plus, its usually caused by the difference between the air below and above the wing

Tying or hanging a coat or jacket (if you're not gonna wear it) to your carry on is going to help save up some if not a bit of space inside the bag and saves time when you need to use it during the flight. It may be a no brainer but a lot of first time flyers usually miss this tip.

For the duty free one, you can always just pay attention to the clock, board and announcement systems. For me, I happen to be blind (I can only see light, acolour and large objects), so I'm always listening out for things, so I'm usually the first one to know if it's time! When you're on a long hall flight, particularly 10+ hours, you need to relax, get iood and buy some things for the flight or even your trip. This is also true for if you're seeing family and want to get them a last minute gift. Oki that's enough of my rambling

Connecting flights: Always bring an empty bottle with you and fill it up in the first flight with water, if your transit terminal does not offer free water refills. Water can cost 5-10 USD on some airport! Consume before you pass the transfer security check. (You will need to pass 1.5 hours before your next flight departure)
Check-in: Check in online. After that, just use the baggage drop. DO NOT arrive at the checkin counter prior to opening it! (Usually 4 hours before the scheduled flight departure) Arrive around 1 hour before the check-in closes. (About 2 hours before flight departure) - This way most of the nervous (and unexperienced) passengers will be gone, and the check-in and baggage drop will be almost empty. Avoid going too late, as many people are lining up just before the check-in counter closes.
If the check-in counter is about to close in 10-15 minutes, and the line is too long, you can go to the business checkin and ask them for an exception. They will grant it to you as they want to avoid you missing your flight. But Please do not abuse this exception, this is for real "emergencies" only.

If you have a passport when asked for ID, when flying either International or Domestic, use it. Most people have their home address on there license/ID card. If the airport worker has friends who are thieves, they could call them and have them check out your place and rob it, as they know you aren't home. Another reason is that they could stalk you. Your passport is a legal Government ID, and it doesn't have your address on it. ... If you know that you will want water, take an empty waster bottle with you, as you can take it through security. Once on the other side, in many airports at the water fountains you can refill it. You really want to do this with the super discount airlines, as they will charge you for water on the fight. ...

I got question because of Empty water Bottles I never heard of it. If you refill it and can I take it inside the Airplane to the next airport or i need to finish it and refill it again in the next one?

    • @ecwjr3549
      @ecwjr3549 4 года назад +9

@@justpaula3999 You don't need to finish it on the flight, so if you are connecting on another flight you can take it with you as long as you aren't going through security again. If you need to go through security again, just empty the bottle and refill it after you go through security again.

Just wondering, after the security check (walking through the x-ray) a staff at the airport asked me if he could look at my passport. So I gave it then I saw him write my name on a notebook he has with him with the list of other names. So I asked my colleagues (we were headed abroad for a company tour) if the staff also did the same thing to them. They said no, which left me confused as to why am I the only one who was approached out of all the 33 people we have in our group. Was it just a random check? what was it for? Or is it just their protocol?
By the way, I wasn't the first nor the last person in our group who went through the machine.

What about to drink plenty of water and fruit juices 3 days before a long haul flight. This I've heard is good for jet lag, and they give out small quantities of water for passengers.

  • @greenup41144
    @greenup41144 4 года назад +2

My family used to live in the Middle East. To minimize jetlag, I preferred traveling from the US to Frankfort, Germany. I would always take the red-eye (flying at night). Basically, my flight left from Cincinnati at about 8:30 PM and land in Frankfort about 10:00 AM. I would then use the Airport hotels showers and take a shower and change my clothes. (Always put 1 or 2 outfits in a carry on bag in case your checked bag became lost. I usually had a layover between 4 & 6 hours. So I would then go get a coffee and a lite breakfast.

Another tip: Don't fly hungry and dehydrated, to Florida, or anywhere else for that matter, unless you want to risk your bloodsugar dropping to zilch, losing consciousness and stopping breathing when the plane depressurizes as it begins descending and then with difficulty wake up to a beautiful doctor from India pounding on your chest telling you to come back and stay with her, followed by a whole lot of medically oriented privileges. Which, by the way, is common enough the paramedics there called it "Plane-itis" and said they see it every day. Ask me how I know. Wish I could thank that doctor. Maybe she will see this, you never know.

#2 In your purse or carryon, our your liquids bag, electronics and boarding pass in the same place for quick access.
#3 Before you leave home, clean out your purse and/or carryon for those thing that will get you in trouble from your last trip - like liquids, prescriptions or sharp pointy things.
