Hi Sean, I always love to seeing 360 footage and being able to put on my director's hat and framing the shot myself. the mics, do enabled some super lear audio, would be great to see how they perform on the slopes!
side note - as action cameras have developed, I can see the next big jump to be a separation of audio and video. rather than trying to squeeze both mics and sensors into a small form factor. why not remove the mics from the action camera all together?
think about it, no mics = a reduction of holes in the cameras outer casing. more space for bigger sensors /screens. no need for any anti-noise processing, therefore able to dedicate more computing power to handling visual processing. makes making it waterproof easier.
the camera then comes with a dedicated audio module, which is designed to do that job very well.
what's your thoughts on this, could this be the next big jump in action camera technology?

i personally would hate if they removed the mics. i like having the options to use them (and the newest are so so so so good). wind reduction can be turned off and you can use a wind slayer. waterproofing is already solid too!
we already can use wireless mics with many action cams and keep them water/ snow proof. rode wireless, dji mic and even apple ear buds on some.
i would hate to have an option removed that works so well 99% of the time and force me to use external mics 100% of the time.
