Memory Lane.. In 1984 I purchased my 1963 Ford Galaxie Notchback 427 factory 4sp. Rangoon Red .. I didn't always win at the start of a race, but I assure everyone, at around 2nd. gear I was neck & neck. By 4th. Gear I was 2 full car lengths ahead.. Btw, M/Rd Street slicks on factory gas.. F.E BLOCK FACTORY DETROIT LEAD SLED. Corvettes, Mustangs, Novas, Buicks Ecetra Ecetra.. My 63 kicked ass..
I love all hot rods, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, but seems that cammed up Ford racing engines sound great at idle. Had a big cammed 468ci in a '79 Chevy Short Wide and it idled rougher than a corn cob but didnt make that sweet sweet music like this on. Nice engine man
If this was a Ford Boss/dart/world products block that allows a 4.125-4.185 bore, then revving it to 7000 rpm's shouldn't be an issue. With a stock windsor block (Even the 71-73) I'd want a main stud girdle and a forged assembly. The big Windsor is not the weak sister the 289/302's are around the main webs. It's a good design.
Mr skipper you got JT here okay so they boarded out to a 427 I don't mind that motor sounds great buddy and I get where you're coming from with the side Oiler if I win the lottery you can bet rest assured I'll be getting a Stang with the original in it by the way the best thing in the world is on RUclips called the black mamba nobody beat no one and I'm sure after you look at it they're going to say it's a showpiece doesn't matter the motor that's under that hood is the original 427 you have a great night Mister skipper maybe we'll talk again take care buddy
What could be a cooler automotive experience than having an engine like this in a nice Cobra replica? One could look dismissively at Ferraris, Lambos and McLarens!
Bet you have fun adjusting those carbs. Sounds healthy. Like to see a real 427 FE block being built with those goodies. It may cost a little more, but it would be worth it. Thanks for posting..
@TimsSpeedShop Awesome - and that's from a Corvair owner. Imagine putting this thing and yourself into a car, for a total weight of a little over a ton, and then turning corners downhjll with the tail out, for 2 hours plus - rather than driving straight as you can, for 8 seconds. It boggles the mind to know that's how people won Can Am races. As scarey & mighty as is this mill, I recall that McLaren settled on a 590 ci aluminum block, injected, with pipes like these, although shorter. Nasty really took on new meaning. Racing in that day was so outrageous, it should be subject to a cover-up
I just love it love it love it you can tell she's an eater nobody beat that's one of the greatest Motors of all time nobody the blue oval first on race day fast on race day and last but certainly not least ferocious on race day no damn to bitten junk Chevrolet leave the Dodge guys for another day
So they get all the displacement from stroke I see. The real 427FE had a much bigger bore and shorter stroke. I wonder how different they feel from each other?? I tend to like short stroke fast winding engines. I had a Chevy 327 that would wind up like a weed eater and I loved that thing lol. 302 Fords are fun too with that tiny 3 inch stroke and a 4:10 gear ratio! I never had a engine with over 4 inches of stroke. Maybe I should try one someday
Hello TimsSpeedShop I am building a 427 and this motor you posted a video of is Exactly what I’m looking to do !!! Would you please reach out to me and tell me the details of the build??? I would be forever grateful!!!! -Ben
O_O!!! that is one hell of a beast and a beauty u wouldn't want screw with, just listen to that beautiful idle of that engine, ahhhh, i think i just jizzed myself, lol
i need one of these for my '83 Lightning tribute trk. that's a '83 shortbed 351W, soon to be replaced with a roller 351W, with a '93 body, & No electronics!
Should I put this in my van...would my neighbors feel safe? Would this cause idiots to think of how to steal my baby? Would the cops carry a picture of me in their wallets? So many things could go wrong, yet if I don't, my joy would be hindered. Something to ponder :)
Is that the crate ford racing 535? I just put one in my superformance cobra, i went with a super victor and a holley 750 XP...Love the look of the dual quads but wonder about keeping all that stuff in tune? Nice looking build!
Hello Tim... Super Clean build and such a sweet tone from her! Who was your contact at the TBR machine shop? I have a stock re-freshed 351W (20 over). Could you share the parts list for this build? My son are building his 1st car together. A 1968 Ford Galaxie 500. Thank you!
What are you dropping this into? Dad and I built the same thing. Originally for his Thunderbolt clone he was making but he sold it. so now it's going in my 68 drag car. No complaints with the way the engine sounds or where its going for me! haha
This is about as bad ass as I've seen. I've got a 351 Cleveland, 4V CC heads, and I want to model it after this build. It's going into a 1960 F100 daily driver. Any advice?
Ahh!!! The sound of a beautiful Blue Oval on song. It's like a choir of angels singing on high!!!
Sounds like a line a character in Mad Max would say. Dig it.

That is one sweet sounding engine! When it's in a car, the sound of both of those carbs snapping open will be hard to get enough of. Nicely done, Sir.
Wow, 600 Ft. Lbs of torque is really impressive for a naturally aspirated small block.
My my...GM and Slopar take a note: Ford will always be King
yes
King of what?
@@hankdagmar2167 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
There's a reason that Carroll Shelby grabbed a Ford engine for everything he built.
@@kennycampbelljr5896 Yeah he was paid to.
That idle sounds awesome.Nice engine. Those strokes make a heck of a lot of torque.
Man , that sounds pissed off. Sweet.
That thing sounds pissed off. Love it!
Gauges jumping like they're afraid of it. Just like it should be.
Straight from FordRacing with a 2 yr warranty, SWEET!😎
I would love to see a competition between a Ford Coyote vs 427 Stroker
I could sit there and listen to this all day
Really good looking and healthy sounding motor! Would have loved one of these back in the day to drop into my 302 Mustang :)
After all these years, I now see how simple it is to create an engine testing stand. I'm in the wrong business...lol
Nice engine man
“is that a thing of beauty or what?”
love it!
Glue some wheels and tape a chair on it and youre good to go!

Choppy rough sound is good for your health, just something calming about a healthy motor. Sounds like work or fun ready to go.
Who doesn't want to run errands with that under the hood .
Pretty awesome build! I think it might need a dual cooling fan system though.
It's pretty cool when you have a cool engine, it's even cooler when it's inside a vehicle.
Would be a nice replacment for my bone stock 351w in my 87 ford short bed 4x4 and would probably get the same 10 mpg
punch that windsor out to 412, easy 500hp
5:02 that rev growl!
i love Ford motors !
that's right buddy listen to that motor no Chevrolet and no. Phenom Ford first on race day
yeah , on my fourth one. same block
Working on starting my first!! 331 to go into a Ford Ranger.... Love the sound of a Ford v8
Me too there so much easier to work on than Chevy or mopar and they sound way so much better
The dual quads look fantastic.
Steve
Quad webers look the best of all !.
Beautiful. Would love to have one of these in a Crown Vic.
The 427 one of the greatest racing motors of all time no junk Chevrolets will put Dodge at Bay

mannnn....that sound is what ears were meant for!!!
just a little 351w in my brand new Shelby Cobra replica thats gonna be on the road veeeerrry soon.
DAMN FORD SOUNDS SWEET , WISH I WAS 25 AGAIN!
Shit. That is approved for all ages😊
I like to know more about the exhaust. Looks and kinda sounds like straight pipes but not sure...
Yes it is! That's dragracing 101 EXHAUST!
What could be a cooler automotive experience than having an engine like this in a nice Cobra replica? One could look dismissively at Ferraris, Lambos and McLarens!
I think this would be too much motor for a shelby replica, imagine how insane that thing would be. It'll be extremely hard to get traction.
Actually I have a 427W in my cobra it’s perfect but it is on the edge!
@@wizerulz Which Cobra do you have?
427w and Gt40 kit.
I like that home made engine "test run stand" :-)
listen to that motor nobody beat built right nobody beat have a great night what a motor
SOOOOOOOOOO S-E-X-Y!!! Want it for my '89 Fox Body LX Restore!!
That would look real nice sitting in a kit car Cobra or a kit car 67/68 Mustang. That is quite an engine for sure!
Simple engine build for any use that's what Ford is all about from the get go, that's what people don't know, simple
Yes it's a thing of beauty! And boy the sound - as you say gorgeous!!!
that engine sounds awesome
Its time to turn the idle down where it's supposed to be. Around 850-900 would probably be good and the oil pressure would still be over 45 PSI.
95 per cent of all Ford's are still on the road the other half made it home!!!!
same combo I'm building right now but with AFR 205 heads, and Howards solid roller hope it runs as good as this one!
I would like to see a comparison between one of these and an FE Side Oiler both on the dyno and in otherwise identical Cobras.
screw having a pet cat. Just let your 427 purrr instead
Ryan Robinson or just name ur cat 427
Jeffrey Bemma fuck that only thing I name a CAT is a Caterpillar diesel
PSD Mayhem Funny shit dude
The cat did the first burnout when it started. Probably hiding in the neighbors' doghouse.
Have both.
Bet you have fun adjusting those carbs. Sounds healthy. Like to see a real 427 FE block being built with those

Great sounding ford motor

music to my ears
Very sweet, very sweet 😋 that would be awesome in my Ford van! Giddy up
I sleep this music every night
Sounds great. Only complaint is a vacuum gauge on the stand would have been nice.
Wow that's a huge idle
Replacing my V10 in my excursion with one of these.
yeah you should slip that in an envelope and drop it in the mail to me... and i will tell every one your a great man,, haha,,,,, nice...
no doubt if you're still reading this three years later no doubt Ford first on race day
Hello TimsSpeedShop I am building a 427 and this motor you posted a video of is Exactly what I’m looking to do !!! Would you please reach out to me and tell me the details of the build??? I would be forever grateful!!!! -Ben
Yep I think this is what my son and I will put in our 63 Lincoln Continental project......
I would love to replace my Mustang's 460 and do a motor just like this. Wonder what the cost would be in 2020? Guess I have some research to do.
That is one awesome Engine right there. BAD ASS! I love it.
O_O!!! that is one hell of a beast and a beauty u wouldn't want screw with, just listen to that beautiful idle of that engine, ahhhh, i think i just jizzed myself, lol
I am thinking about dropping one of these in an 85 RX-7....
Hello Tims Speed Shop!! Can I contact you to get the specs on this motor?? Thanks -Ben
I can't believe this was 9 years ago!
I sure hope you have a good flywheel! I've seen engines fired with a stock flywheel first to save some money! It never ends well!
beautiful mate , im going to build one for my 67 fastback.
Beautiful idel.
The sounds of heaven. Then GOD created the Ford engine and found it good!!!
i need one of these for my '83 Lightning tribute trk. that's a '83 shortbed 351W, soon to be replaced with a roller 351W, with a '93 body, & No electronics!
hmmm...this might just be perfect for my little 1964 ford supervan. ahhh... a man can dream :)
Beautiful motor, my Love! ;-)
The sound of a huge stampede! I love it!

Bet your neighbors love you!
Damn that does sound good. How do you get the lopey idle? Could you build it without that idle?
That would work in my 46 Ford very well. Make it "Quick" enough.
why not put the gauge/control panel on the side or front of the engine, so you don't need to straddle the pipes?
Is that the crate ford racing 535? I just put one in my superformance cobra, i went with a super victor and a holley 750 XP...Love the look of the dual quads but wonder about keeping all that stuff in tune? Nice looking build!
Steveo H ~ No it’s the crate engine 351W.😎

Let’s put it in a World of outlaw Sprint Car and go racing!😎
I'd love to drop this motor in my '97 Ranger, can we say " mini Farmtruck', :D.
Ford has the better sound all day. Blue oval power
It'd look good in my '66 Shelby!
54 dislikes are the 54 Chevy guys who shit their pants.
beauty.sponsor my chassis with that and ill help market your skills.
Sounds Great!! wish it was in my '65 Falcon 4dr. Wagon!!
I want a set of valve covers like that!!!
So... What is that beast going to be dropped into?
Im going to do a similar build. Did you go with hydraulic roller, or solid roller cam?
Sound hotter than my 4 cilinder car :P
What are you dropping this into? Dad and I built the same thing. Originally for his Thunderbolt clone he was making but he sold it. so now it's going in my 68 drag car. No complaints with the way the engine sounds or where its going for me! haha

MT Poland have alot of money
Well...ya got er built? 4 yrs
I need this exact engine for my 67 mustang. With no change to the exhaust
Badass 427w man!
Why is it you have the idle set so high on that hot-stand? Is that the norm for these stroker 427w's?
the run stand is badass as well!!!!!!!!! I am envious I need that here....LOL
nice motor i really want to turn my 351 into a 427 what oil pan did u buy
like the heart of some great beast , beating in a jar!
Idomake I GOT A JAR OF DIRRT!!... oh wait, wrong video...
damn that sounds nice.. you should let me have that to put in my truck ,,lol
Thing sounds GREAT!!
It would be nice to know some spec's but it sounds good, where did you get the valve covers?
CrapHitting TheFan - Crate engine from Ford.😎
Yessir its a thing of beauty and sounds nasty, love it
Are you using Cleveland style heads? Looks like it to me...those certainly don't look like windsor valve covers....nice engine dude!
+steve Fowler Cleveland's have 8 bolt valve covers. Great sounding engine
Their aluminum heads
