I forgot to mention why Tempest Flurry is chosen for linking Minion Pact. This is the only skill that you can always use right after dodge rolling regardless of the combat situation. It could have been an interesting choice to link with Flicker Strike, but since you cannot gain power charges while using that skill, it is doesn't work.
Hey man Just want to contribute more into this video You can simply put "Minion Pact" into any socketed attack skill gems, for me I chose my siphoning strike, you can also put it into basic skill and with one point of "10% increase skill duration" you're nolonger needed "persistence"!
I'm wondering if it's worth sacraficing extra skill slot for it though? Maybe more viable would be using TWO tempest flurry skills, one solely for purpose of gaining charges? Or do we gain anything extra from having it on main tempest flurry skill?

Here's another one for you: You can generate max power charges really quickly for bossing by weapon swapping, without using extra spirit, being CI or needing Tempest flurry Fill your weapon swap with a Sceptre (+100 Spirit, roll doesn't matter because of the Monk spirit node) that has the summon Skeletal Warriors implicit (at least level 5, reservation per minion goes down over time) and any shield. It can have spirit if you aren't a monk, otherwise anything. Set up your weapon swap such that some or all of your spirit is reserved in the swap for Skeletal Warriors plus the Sacrifice spirit gem ("Skills can use your undead Reviving Minions in place of Corpses"). Weapon swap once and it creates a lot of skeletons / corpses. One cast of Profane Ritual later, you generates six power charges for them on demand. Cast charged staff, then repeat the process. In ~2 seconds you've filled your charges and charge staff This is compatible with the Blink weapon swap speed tech, since you probably have enough spirit to get minions already and can use the 50% cdr shield Happy flickering!
I'm generating power changes for my merc geml with lingering but I rely on mobs to get it. This system looks way better but I don't get. What is the "1 Spirit Sceptre"?

Just want to offer what I consider a less costly alternative, with Profane Ritual, that I use which can get you all 7 charges very quickly. All you need is Matsya Crescent (unique Quarterstaff that halves all Spirit costs, costs 1ex in trade), or any scepter. Using that in your 2nd weapon set, you can use Sacrifice and Skeletal Clerics with Ingenuity, along with Profane Ritual using Unleash to cast 3x to hit the 5 ritual limit in a single second, almost guaranteeing all 7 charges. From there, you can just throw out a Ritual as you clear to top off again, or swap back to the Clerics in boss fights to rebuild charges. If you use Matsya Crescent, don't forget to disable your Quarterstaff skills for that weapon set.
Hey man! Thanks for the shout out! I thought I explained the origin and CI part in another comment, but I guess I forgot to send. Anyways, I got this from a local Taiwan forum and tried it on to find it working godly. But mostly only with blink unless you have good enough roll speed, plus blinking is so good for backtracking and more deterministic flickering. PS: Another cool tech to mention, this one from TenFrenzyFlickers(also Taiwanese I believe) is that Infernal Cry/Mantra of Destruction buffs flicker strike to grant extra damage. The description says empowers only the next attack, but it seems flicker can go on and on until infinite as long as you have enough charges, procs with perpetual charge also works.
I was running the Mantra of Destruction method this way for a long while. With OKAY gear it carried me comfortably till about T13-ish maps then it started to feel really janky to keep uptime on it due to the high combo requirement to use it even with max quality. I actually got better mileage out of Mantra combined with Bell since the shockwave kills contribute as well, Mantra empowers the next _Attack_, aka Skill Use Attack (sorry doesn't work for Charged Staff...). It was really nice to be able to give Culling Strike to nearly any skill through Mantra and with Skill Duration you can get nearly 10 seconds of Purple Flames of Chaluya, but it just started to feel really tedious to keep uptime on it. Touching on the Perpetual Charge portion, it is really weird. Things like Mantra seem to apply to the subsequent uses of Flicker procced from not consuming charges but then other supports like Combo Finisher seem to need the combo rebuilt before the "second" Flicker procs from not consuming charges; at least it felt like Flicker never kept going for me with Combo Finisher slotted out of like 20 tries to get it to keep going with max quality and Perpetual Charge slotted. I would definitely still have Power Charges, yet Flicker would consistently act as if it had only used one set of Power Charges; I actually sorta suspect Mantra is behaving in a similar fashion though its really hard to test since as far as I can tell Purple Flames of Chaluya never seemed to reset its buff timer after hitting 10 stacks even when I used it with Bell. I actually sorta suspect that it is a placebo from the extra damage as chaos damage from Purple Flames of Chaluya lingering for the procced Flickers rather than the extra 22-41% the Empowered buff directly provides.
In poe 1 Mirror Arrow is considered a "Duplication of yourself" just like Lingering Illusion. It's even written that it is a minion skill gem so it truely makes you wonder if its intended or a bug.
No other minion supports seem to work, which suggests it’s unintentional. But who knows. Sort of bummed I can’t make my “minion” explode and blind enemies etc. Would elevate this further
Crazy tech, personnally I think removing persistence from charged staff is such a quality of life issue to me. I fixed it by taking "Preservation" node on passive tree, I don't mind losing 3 passives point for it. Thanks for your video Snoo as Always!
@@eury2761 it's not patched. you need to run persistent gem on optical illusion or take 50% skill duration at the top of the monk tree to make illusion last long enough. you also need some attackspeed.
Snoo, I discovered this helmet, The Three Dragons Solid Mask (1ex on the market) Once equipped, lightning damage contributes to freeze buildup. We already apply so much lightning damage that we can remove every passive skill contributing to cold and freeze buildup and respect that to raw damage passive skills like Pure Power. We save over 10 skill points initially allocated to freeze build with this helmet, which we can respect to pure damage nodes. Freeze is so intense with the helmet that all my bosses are permanently frozen, and I'm not even running any of the buildups passive skills; instead, they are moved to damage increase nodes. For the double herald to work, you have to move all lightning gems from Herald of Ice to the Herald of Lightning (because now lightning contributes to freeze buildup. That's really great because we can double our Herald DPS) and add Fire gems like Fire Infusion and Fire Penetration in Herald Of Ice (because on the other end, the helmet also adds that fire damage now contributes to shock chance, and cold damage now contributes to ignite chance).
Do you have a maxroll build sheet for this showing gear/passive tree for this along with skills/support breakdown? (Im a visual person and would enjoy seeing the maxroll for this as it sounds pretty fun and interesting!)
i like this a lot, for me cast on freeze still feels a lot smoother while mapping, dodge rolling around especially being surrounded by delirium mobs or breach mobs gets me killed if im in need of power charges, but this is huuuuuge for bossing, just a simple swap back to illusion when boss is encountered. good work
For boss fights like king of the mist, i just use hand of chayula with a curse and snipers mark, sniper's mark will give a frenzy (power with resonance). Its not as comfy as starting with full power charge, i guess its possible to use this tech on second weapon set.
I saw this while of was thinking of using gathering storm/flicker strike. I tried putting the minion pact on gathering storm and ended up with a rotation like: dodge roll, jump to a pack with gathering storm, blow them up, then flicker strike anything that's left. I use gathering storm once or twice to get up the charges and then flicker and repeat. Its insanely fun to dash around the map in between flickering blowing everything up and dodge rolling to reposition/dodge/set up for the next dash with gathering storm.
@@snoobae8553use crest of ardura shield as 2nd set, can even path on skill tree for 2nd set for some extra cooldown recovery spirit isn’t reserved if you enter the skill detais and check only weapon set II blink will have a very small cooldown. there is a very short delay for swapping back to quarterstaff. for blinking, raise shield + blink is pretty much instant sure, flicker is cool and all, but it pales in comparison to just blinking all over the place and just one tapping a critter to blow up the whole screen with HoI
@@snoobae8553 only costs spirit when 2nd set is being used (if you set up correctly) use crest of ardura and 2nd wep skill tree for shorter cooldown when playing normally with quarterstaff, use raise shield to swap - raise shield + blink is instant. swapping back has small delay but very well worth it imo. I mean no offense to your flicker setup, but playing with blink + herald of ice is simply much much faster
@@snoobae8553 theres no delay when using raise shield as the method for weapon switching. You can tap raise shield then blink with no delay. But there is the delay when going from shield back into attacking. But once youve played with it for a bit you start to pre-empt the swap. But its good for allowing the option to blink and dodgeroll when and where ever you choose (think re-positioning against a boss). It also speeds up mapping in those scenarios where we have to walk back across the map to find a rare. and the shield give s 50%cd reduction on blink taking it down to 1.5s. this also free'd up points on the tree as i allocated all the movement passives to my shield weapon set as i didnt need the ms while attacking, only in the downtime between where id be blinking. I also allocated slow potenty reduction to reduce temp chains map curse for those kinds of walks.
I blink too far, soo i lose the range to kill the copie, Someone got a solutiong ? i try to currupte a blink 14 to get blink 13 that drop the blink range stilld doesnt work

Most people who are trying to do this setup and failing either have very slow attack speed and missing persistence support on Linger Illusion or they aren’t Chaos Innoculation, which is required for player/minion health component of the tech to work.
Can someone tell me if "Considered Casting" works with " charged staff"? support gems say "Supported skills deal 40% more damage with spell hits". "charged staff" - is a spell, and technically it hits, but with a different skill.
Charged staff itself is a spell, but the hits are attack hits. I think if I remember correctly you actually cannot even slot that support gem into the skill.
I'd recommend in that case just take a working loot filter file, copy it to the same folder with a new name. And full copy/paste the text in here to that one.
Important info: You need really fast attackspeed for this to work, because the illusion duration after dodge is really short. My solution: Put the Persistence gem (+40% skill effect duration) into the illusion skill. That solved my problem and it works now!
@@buddylord3276 How many attacks per second does your Tempest Flurry show in the info screen? I have around 2.8 attacks per second and it works for me. Do you have the support gem Martial Tempo in your Tempes Flurry? That also gives 25% attack speed. You can also test it by picking some passives with attack speed.
Question how do you make that illusion thing work? Because I have it on my character and it says when you dodge increase an illusion but when I dodge I'm not seeing a illusion.
it works with blink perfectly. BUT i am having trouble with it not working with dodge roll... it worked once... went into a map came back into hideout and now nothing.
question... for mapping, is the rotation: get powercharges > use charged staff > get more power charges > use flicker? i have all the same gear as you and same tree, but my flicker rarely ever goes to different enemy packs. always seems to explode just one pack even if the others are close
You might want to check my flicker strike deep dive video a couple back and check Setup #5 on the timestamp to make sure you have it the same. That was the setup that gave me nice flicker chain.
You saved my Monk. Super casual, only played Monk so far but I was looking at re-rolling cuz building combo seemed anti-"flow" but now I just need a few more lvls to get Blink and I'm cooking with gasoline! Thank you so much.

@ I tried it one day but didn’t like it much because I’m not scaling chaos damage and because it seemed much more fitting for Falling Thunder than Flicker Strike. I can’t recall if it works for Charges Staff. If it does then it would be really strong. But I think it just applies to the first damage instance of it.
@@snoobae8553 so realistically, only way to get 10 stack of purple flame of chayala is to run optical illusion and stack a bunch of skill duration nodes in the tree? that's so slow. even if you had 200% duration on it, it would only give you like 60 second of each stack. by the time you get 10 stacks, your first 2 stacks disappear. not to mention that whirlwind and tempest bell don't really work that well together with charged staff b/c the shockwaves from charged staff and also stun fist skill make shockwaves like go all over place. so you can't focus your damage. only whirlwind and bell work well with the mantra which hyper limit the potencial of chaos monk. well if you find a tech to make mantra work on boss fights, a video would be amazing.

The last two have the same name but significantly different passive tree and skill gem setups, is was just wondering what the difference between both are and which one to follow? Thanks
Hey thanks. I think you're referring to the Crit CI Attribute vs CI Attribute vs CI Crit. It's getting a bit convoluted now but the latest is Attribute stacker, and if you're going Pillar/HOWA while leveling and getting up there you should go non-crit. Crit is best for bossing by far and better for mapping once you're like level 90+ with good stats on gear that can help offset the loss of attributes since you gotta dump a lot of passives into crit.

there is some skills at top of tree for monk called "Skill duration" so if you want save your duration gem, you can get skill duration at top of the tree.
By the way im trying to optimize the build... for boss i realy have trouble to keep my health going back up i am missing sumting? OFF hand i use another staff for using blink But im thinking of changing it for a meditation build on OFF hand for boss only your though?

I got one green jewel for blind hit chance and some damage. I got one red for rage on hit plus some damage. And the rest is sapphire jewels for max ES and ES as stun threshold. Plus a half-way decent megalomaniac with 2 value notables, Metamorphosis which I made a video on before. And Time lost diamond which I had help me cap my resistances and get some fire damage into the build.

I am using it. I'm also using Profane Ritual now. I actually really liked having both. Cast-on-crit is very strong with ~40-50% crit chance especially single target.
Could you please share the upgrade path for skills and support gems for this particular update of your build (with jactor2's setup). Also, if you can share the same for the passive skill tree, it would be fantastic. I am new player to arpgs and poe2, so would really appreciate if you could do that.
So I found that using Minion Pact support on just the Quarterstaff Strike skill still allowed me to generate power charges with this tech without sacrificing a 5th support gem from the main skill. Hopefully this is helpful!
how do you have 10 spell slots? i only have 9 at level 72 as a monk and can't equip all the required spells if i want to incorporate this tech with the options you provided. Is it something in the passive skill tree or something further in the engame as im only on tier 2 and 3s right now.

Also i got like 2k Shield and feel like im getting tapped. im doing good damage but i only have 3 slots for all my current skills. and i know the build will strive the more i have available and the better gear i have but im taking soo much damage on tier 1 and 2
I think I remember reasonably early on you mentioned wanting to use Immolate somewhere but it is pretty hard to get Ignite going or something along those lines. Have you tried mixing one of the Curses off a Cast on X with Burning Inscription? And instead of Herald of Thunder freezing things why not let it set things on fire like IRL lightning and make Bell the freeze machine again? Add Immolate to Flicker Strike with some sort of Cast on X with Lightning Ball, a Curse (probably Temporal Chains), Lightning Warp, Burning Inscription, bonus if can fit in Despoiler and profit. Would probably work better on Elemental Invocation rather than a Cast on X for better user control of when the ground surfaces are there but should work OKAY either way still. Elemental Invocation method is preferred for me since easier energy build up and I can control when I want the ground surfaces AND Lightning Warp doesn't decide that I should be exactly in the middle of the ground explosion pile I literally just dodged out of a half second ago. additional edited shower thought Actually, Burning Inscription would probably work with Profane Ritual as well since I think that sets a Runic Inscription on the ground too but I haven't tested that, only tested with a Temporal Chains and it works with that; the Ignited Ground starts as soon as the Runic Inscription on the ground disappears, the entire curse duration does not need to expire first for the Ignited Ground to appear and ignite enemies, yet be safe for the player to walk over.
You Can just put Flame wall on Cast on Freeze or get enough Flat Fire dmg. And Immolste would make Most Sense on the bell then since its conditional and mostly up on Single Target
Hey after using this build for a day its realy good but maybe im not well enought geared yet... like i said on earlier comments i find it hard to fight boss like my life and mana flask get empty quick and i changed some nodes for meditate with a OFF hand build for faster meditate + blink Whats your though on this ? but now entought EY "eternal youth" its harder if my life goes down fast but at least i can stay for ever in a boss fight
So, im playing a gemling howa/pillar build, and i will end up pathing to resonance so i can use combat frenzy. Since i won't be going CI, is this gonna be the best way for me to get charges? The only issue is there is a little ramp up time on bosses where i will have to freeze my bell to get my first charge so i can use charged staff, but for mapping it feels great. Well, ok my deadeye it felt great at least. Im still leveling the merc.
Skill speed counts as if it was attack speed for most monks, because it increases the motion speed of tempest flurry (and other skills), which is the same as if it was pure attack speed in this case. But in the passive tree we use a node that transforms frenzy charges to power charges, so we end up getting them instead and we get damage for it
How do you get the item drops to look like that. I’m on default and it can be hard to see materials if you are running around. Is that an add on or something in game I can change
In PoE1 we had a great site, Filterblade, with a nice interface to create and adjust a loot filter for our needs. That’ll come again eventually, but for now we only have a text file and need to edit it manually. You can check the description of this video for my loot filter. If you have a filter already from Neversink, then just copy/paste it into a backup copy of that file. Otherwise you have to download it, put it in your My Games PoE folder with a .filter extension.

Gotta love that the biggest strongest mechanic so far for Monk are things like this and sorceress literally goes "screen goes BOOM! HEREBY CRAAAAAASH PC!!!!!!!!
Regarding the tidbit about whether or not the copy is a minion... Didn't intend for this to be long but I don't think there's away to shorten the explanation and connect all the dots properly lol... Here we go: On the passive skill tree there is a node named "Attack dmg with nearby Ally". ALLY is the key here. The description of ally says "other players, Minions, and any other ENTITY that fights alongside you and HAS ITS OWN STATS". Then the description of Lingering Illusion mentions the copy of yourself can be damaged by enemies and goes on to say it has 20% of your max life aka ITS OWN STATS. Thus, the copy is considered an "ally entity" by the game, the same as a minion. Which leads me to believe this is working as intended, so it may get nerfed, but I don't think it should be outright patched.
Maybe it's worth changing the topic on the build page (maxroll site) on the part that mentions "Heavy Reliance on Triggered Abilities", and a question. Is it possible to use both types of generators? (cast on freezing and lingering illusion)

I just checked out your maxroll guide, the blink setup is not in there at all? Do you just have this setup for every boss encounter randomly or are you not using it anymore?
i made a lot of currency using your methods in poe 1, but i'm struggling hard in poe 2. doing maps all day and getting nothing. hoping for a video on mapping strategy for currency making.

Several things in the game must be coded as a minion as its base. I've seen several other games do this exact same thing. League of Legends is the best example I can think of. Almost everything is coded as a minion/creep. This must be why minion pact works with lingering illusion.
Any thoughts on using blink+frenzy charges with ur stat passive tree? I've had great success with milky's build that you talked abuot in your other video, but i want the additional charged staff range your build has and the faster attack speed. What are your thoughts about this? Also, can you showcase your new build and full resistances as your last one had lacking resistances? Lastly, do you enchant your amulet with a distill formula?
I've been trying to test the dodge rolling, is there a thresh hold on how much movement speed is needed to use this tech? im at 35% with boots and 5% on chest ms
it would be my honor to get ready of siphoning strike wow. Fixes alot of annoying boss swapping techs too. I want to switch to attribute stacking but something tells me it will be gone shortly.
u can snapshot all gain dps skills and mechanics in the game with flickerstrike cause all future hits count as the first hit so for example things like ambush will boost ur flickerstrike till it ends cheers
It is interresting that it works. Because Minion Pact is bugged, it doesnt work on actual minions. I tried it on the fireskulls and other minions, because i wanted to trigger cast on minion death with it. But it didnt work. Just for the future, if they change/fix it, there is a chance that it will work on normal minions in the future. So even if they nerf it, it is very likely to happen, that you could probably use profane ritual on cast on minion death and just use a couple of spirit to send some squishy minions to their death. Because the cast energy you need depends on the cooldown of the spell, it is very easy to trigger profane ritual this way. Also cast on freeze works with profane ritual. I dont like cast on shock on them, because the shock chance is just nerfed to death. As a Monk, the minion topic is quite interresting. You are not too far away from the mage skill tree, there are a couple of uniques and tricks you could use to create a minion monk. I tried some proof of concepts with it, and a minion monk with fireballs is actually quite fun. But I want to farm a little bit more gear on t15/t16 with my "normal" monk until I can make the minion monk work perfectly well. But I think it could be a really great fun way to play. There also some Cast on Minion Death combos which trigger Comet quite a lot. So depending on how or what ggg nerfs next, there might be still some chances.
Big @SnooBAE85 I'm really struggling with scaling this build, I have similar-ish gear with 69% ingenuity, where can you scale the damage up? Is it mostly the cold/fire/phys on rings? I'm fully linked but for example my tempest flurry is only at 27k, heralds at 7,2k and 4,8k etc, your numbers are wild by comparison
Most people with this issue are prioritizing attributes too much and flat damage too little. Try to get two tier 8+ flat damage rolls on each ring. See what that does. One of them needs to be cold damage though.
@@snoobae8553 Okay I must be doing something wrong, I have a t8 cold + t4 fire on one ring and a t8 phys, t7 cold and t6 fire on the other ring, and my quarterstaff strike is only at 35k lmao. 69% ingenuity btw :D Any tips for what you reckon it could be? I’m so glad the algorithm has realized I don’t watch the slop content being made and is starting to show me real path videos.
Just want to offer what I consider a less costly alternative, with Profane Ritual, that I use which can get you all 7 charges very quickly. All you need is Matsya Crescent (unique Quarterstaff that halves all Spirit costs, costs 1ex in trade), or any scepter. Using that in your 2nd weapon set, you can use Sacrifice and Skeletal Clerics with Ingenuity, along with Profane Ritual using Unleash to cast 3x to hit the 5 ritual limit in a single second, almost guaranteeing all 7 charges. From there, you can just throw out a Ritual as you clear to top off again, or swap back to the Clerics in boss fights to rebuild charges. If you use Matsya Crescent, don't forget to disable your Quarterstaff skills for that weapon set.

Anyways, I got this from a local Taiwan forum and tried it on to find it working godly. But mostly only with blink unless you have good enough roll speed, plus blinking is so good for backtracking and more deterministic flickering.
PS: Another cool tech to mention, this one from TenFrenzyFlickers(also Taiwanese I believe) is that Infernal Cry/Mantra of Destruction buffs flicker strike to grant extra damage.
The description says empowers only the next attack, but it seems flicker can go on and on until infinite as long as you have enough charges, procs with perpetual charge also works.

I was running the Mantra of Destruction method this way for a long while. With OKAY gear it carried me comfortably till about T13-ish maps then it started to feel really janky to keep uptime on it due to the high combo requirement to use it even with max quality. I actually got better mileage out of Mantra combined with Bell since the shockwave kills contribute as well, Mantra empowers the next _Attack_, aka Skill Use Attack (sorry doesn't work for Charged Staff...). It was really nice to be able to give Culling Strike to nearly any skill through Mantra and with Skill Duration you can get nearly 10 seconds of Purple Flames of Chaluya, but it just started to feel really tedious to keep uptime on it.
Touching on the Perpetual Charge portion, it is really weird. Things like Mantra seem to apply to the subsequent uses of Flicker procced from not consuming charges but then other supports like Combo Finisher seem to need the combo rebuilt before the "second" Flicker procs from not consuming charges; at least it felt like Flicker never kept going for me with Combo Finisher slotted out of like 20 tries to get it to keep going with max quality and Perpetual Charge slotted. I would definitely still have Power Charges, yet Flicker would consistently act as if it had only used one set of Power Charges; I actually sorta suspect Mantra is behaving in a similar fashion though its really hard to test since as far as I can tell Purple Flames of Chaluya never seemed to reset its buff timer after hitting 10 stacks even when I used it with Bell. I actually sorta suspect that it is a placebo from the extra damage as chaos damage from Purple Flames of Chaluya lingering for the procced Flickers rather than the extra 22-41% the Empowered buff directly provides.

u can put ur minion pact to ur weapon slot instead of tempest flurry, and use ur staff attack on ur skill slot
In poe 1 Mirror Arrow is considered a "Duplication of yourself" just like Lingering Illusion. It's even written that it is a minion skill gem so it truely makes you wonder if its intended or a bug.

No other minion supports seem to work, which suggests it’s unintentional. But who knows. Sort of bummed I can’t make my “minion” explode and blind enemies etc. Would elevate this further

Crazy tech, personnally I think removing persistence from charged staff is such a quality of life issue to me. I fixed it by taking "Preservation" node on passive tree, I don't mind losing 3 passives point for it. Thanks for your video Snoo as Always!

@@eury2761 it's not patched. you need to run persistent gem on optical illusion or take 50% skill duration at the top of the monk tree to make illusion last long enough. you also need some attackspeed.

Snoo, I discovered this helmet, The Three Dragons Solid Mask (1ex on the market)
Once equipped, lightning damage contributes to freeze buildup.
We already apply so much lightning damage that we can remove every passive skill contributing to cold and freeze buildup and respect that to raw damage passive skills like Pure Power. We save over 10 skill points initially allocated to freeze build with this helmet, which we can respect to pure damage nodes. Freeze is so intense with the helmet that all my bosses are permanently frozen, and I'm not even running any of the buildups passive skills; instead, they are moved to damage increase nodes.
For the double herald to work, you have to move all lightning gems from Herald of Ice to the Herald of Lightning (because now lightning contributes to freeze buildup. That's really great because we can double our Herald DPS) and add Fire gems like Fire Infusion and Fire Penetration in Herald Of Ice (because on the other end, the helmet also adds that fire damage now contributes to shock chance, and cold damage now contributes to ignite chance).

i like this a lot, for me cast on freeze still feels a lot smoother while mapping, dodge rolling around especially being surrounded by delirium mobs or breach mobs gets me killed if im in need of power charges, but this is huuuuuge for bossing, just a simple swap back to illusion when boss is encountered. good work
For boss fights like king of the mist, i just use hand of chayula with a curse and snipers mark, sniper's mark will give a frenzy (power with resonance). Its not as comfy as starting with full power charge, i guess its possible to use this tech on second weapon set.

I saw this while of was thinking of using gathering storm/flicker strike. I tried putting the minion pact on gathering storm and ended up with a rotation like: dodge roll, jump to a pack with gathering storm, blow them up, then flicker strike anything that's left. I use gathering storm once or twice to get up the charges and then flicker and repeat. Its insanely fun to dash around the map in between flickering blowing everything up and dodge rolling to reposition/dodge/set up for the next dash with gathering storm.
No lie. This made me finally try CI. Also found a 700 ES chest yesterday which I wanted to try, so the timing was just chef’s kiss
I feel like that's broken/bug. Because it literally says you gain charge WHEN enemy kills your clone, so you killing clone shouldn't be affecting it?
If you don't need weapon swap for damage, can reserve skeletons and sacrifice on weapon swap and cast profane ritual.

You can put the Blink on weapon set 2 to still have blink if you want for movement around the map.
Is there not a delay back and forth for that? Plus it costs a skill slot and spirit which are a bigger deal to me.

for blinking, raise shield + blink is pretty much instant
sure, flicker is cool and all, but it pales in comparison to just blinking all over the place and just one tapping a critter to blow up the whole screen with HoI

when playing normally with quarterstaff, use raise shield to swap - raise shield + blink is instant. swapping back has small delay but very well worth it imo.
I mean no offense to your flicker setup, but playing with blink + herald of ice is simply much much faster
@@snoobae8553 theres no delay when using raise shield as the method for weapon switching. You can tap raise shield then blink with no delay. But there is the delay when going from shield back into attacking. But once youve played with it for a bit you start to pre-empt the swap. But its good for allowing the option to blink and dodgeroll when and where ever you choose (think re-positioning against a boss). It also speeds up mapping in those scenarios where we have to walk back across the map to find a rare. and the shield give s 50%cd reduction on blink taking it down to 1.5s. this also free'd up points on the tree as i allocated all the movement passives to my shield weapon set as i didnt need the ms while attacking, only in the downtime between where id be blinking. I also allocated slow potenty reduction to reduce temp chains map curse for those kinds of walks.

Most people who are trying to do this setup and failing either have very slow attack speed and missing persistence support on Linger Illusion or they aren’t Chaos Innoculation, which is required for player/minion health component of the tech to work.
Can someone tell me if "Considered Casting" works with " charged staff"? support gems say "Supported skills deal 40% more damage with spell hits". "charged staff" - is a spell, and technically it hits, but with a different skill.
Charged staff itself is a spell, but the hits are attack hits. I think if I remember correctly you actually cannot even slot that support gem into the skill.

I'd recommend in that case just take a working loot filter file, copy it to the same folder with a new name. And full copy/paste the text in here to that one.

My solution: Put the Persistence gem (+40% skill effect duration) into the illusion skill. That solved my problem and it works now!

@@buddylord3276 How many attacks per second does your Tempest Flurry show in the info screen? I have around 2.8 attacks per second and it works for me. Do you have the support gem Martial Tempo in your Tempes Flurry? That also gives 25% attack speed. You can also test it by picking some passives with attack speed.
Question how do you make that illusion thing work? Because I have it on my character and it says when you dodge increase an illusion but when I dodge I'm not seeing a illusion.

it works with blink perfectly. BUT i am having trouble with it not working with dodge roll... it worked once... went into a map came back into hideout and now nothing.
Some people have had issues with blink when it goes too far from the minion. Not heard of anyone having problems with roll.

question... for mapping, is the rotation: get powercharges > use charged staff > get more power charges > use flicker? i have all the same gear as you and same tree, but my flicker rarely ever goes to different enemy packs. always seems to explode just one pack even if the others are close
You might want to check my flicker strike deep dive video a couple back and check Setup #5 on the timestamp to make sure you have it the same. That was the setup that gave me nice flicker chain.

@ I tried it one day but didn’t like it much because I’m not scaling chaos damage and because it seemed much more fitting for Falling Thunder than Flicker Strike. I can’t recall if it works for Charges Staff. If it does then it would be really strong. But I think it just applies to the first damage instance of it.
@@snoobae8553 so realistically, only way to get 10 stack of purple flame of chayala is to run optical illusion and stack a bunch of skill duration nodes in the tree? that's so slow. even if you had 200% duration on it, it would only give you like 60 second of each stack. by the time you get 10 stacks, your first 2 stacks disappear. not to mention that whirlwind and tempest bell don't really work that well together with charged staff b/c the shockwaves from charged staff and also stun fist skill make shockwaves like go all over place. so you can't focus your damage. only whirlwind and bell work well with the mantra which hyper limit the potencial of chaos monk. well if you find a tech to make mantra work on boss fights, a video would be amazing.

The last two have the same name but significantly different passive tree and skill gem setups, is was just wondering what the difference between both are and which one to follow?

Hey thanks. I think you're referring to the Crit CI Attribute vs CI Attribute vs CI Crit. It's getting a bit convoluted now but the latest is Attribute stacker, and if you're going Pillar/HOWA while leveling and getting up there you should go non-crit. Crit is best for bossing by far and better for mapping once you're like level 90+ with good stats on gear that can help offset the loss of attributes since you gotta dump a lot of passives into crit.
u can pair it with "Serpent's Egg gold amulet" to get even more power charges

there is some skills at top of tree for monk called "Skill duration" so if you want save your duration gem, you can get skill duration at top of the tree.

I got one green jewel for blind hit chance and some damage. I got one red for rage on hit plus some damage. And the rest is sapphire jewels for max ES and ES as stun threshold. Plus a half-way decent megalomaniac with 2 value notables, Metamorphosis which I made a video on before. And Time lost diamond which I had help me cap my resistances and get some fire damage into the build.

Are you using this tech or not? Because at your build planner there is cast on critical at late game ci attribute mapping build?? Which is better?
I am using it. I'm also using Profane Ritual now. I actually really liked having both. Cast-on-crit is very strong with ~40-50% crit chance especially single target.
How do you have 10 equipped skills? And the basic quaterstaff skill. Please explain

I did it for the CI crit call of the brotherhood version and attribute version.

So I found that using Minion Pact support on just the Quarterstaff Strike skill still allowed me to generate power charges with this tech without sacrificing a 5th support gem from the main skill. Hopefully this is helpful!

how do you have 10 spell slots? i only have 9 at level 72 as a monk and can't equip all the required spells if i want to incorporate this tech with the options you provided. Is it something in the passive skill tree or something further in the engame as im only on tier 2 and 3s right now.

Also i got like 2k Shield and feel like im getting tapped. im doing good damage but i only have 3 slots for all my current skills. and i know the build will strive the more i have available and the better gear i have but im taking soo much damage on tier 1 and 2

I think I remember reasonably early on you mentioned wanting to use Immolate somewhere but it is pretty hard to get Ignite going or something along those lines.
Have you tried mixing one of the Curses off a Cast on X with Burning Inscription? And instead of Herald of Thunder freezing things why not let it set things on fire like IRL lightning and make Bell the freeze machine again? Add Immolate to Flicker Strike with some sort of Cast on X with Lightning Ball, a Curse (probably Temporal Chains), Lightning Warp, Burning Inscription, bonus if can fit in Despoiler and profit. Would probably work better on Elemental Invocation rather than a Cast on X for better user control of when the ground surfaces are there but should work OKAY either way still.
Elemental Invocation method is preferred for me since easier energy build up and I can control when I want the ground surfaces AND Lightning Warp doesn't decide that I should be exactly in the middle of the ground explosion pile I literally just dodged out of a half second ago.

Actually, Burning Inscription would probably work with Profane Ritual as well since I think that sets a Runic Inscription on the ground too but I haven't tested that, only tested with a Temporal Chains and it works with that; the Ignited Ground starts as soon as the Runic Inscription on the ground disappears, the entire curse duration does not need to expire first for the Ignited Ground to appear and ignite enemies, yet be safe for the player to walk over.
You Can just put Flame wall on Cast on Freeze or get enough Flat Fire dmg. And Immolste would make Most Sense on the bell then since its conditional and mostly up on Single Target
Hey after using this build for a day its realy good but maybe im not well enought geared yet... like i said on earlier comments i find it hard to fight boss like my life and mana flask get empty quick and i changed some nodes for meditate with a OFF hand build for faster meditate + blink

For attribute and ci crit versions I did
So, im playing a gemling howa/pillar build, and i will end up pathing to resonance so i can use combat frenzy. Since i won't be going CI, is this gonna be the best way for me to get charges? The only issue is there is a little ramp up time on bosses where i will have to freeze my bell to get my first charge so i can use charged staff, but for mapping it feels great. Well, ok my deadeye it felt great at least. Im still leveling the merc.

Forgot to ask: What are the frenzy charges do for us? is it for charge infusion? is skill speed so good for us?
Skill speed counts as if it was attack speed for most monks, because it increases the motion speed of tempest flurry (and other skills), which is the same as if it was pure attack speed in this case. But in the passive tree we use a node that transforms frenzy charges to power charges, so we end up getting them instead and we get damage for it

In PoE1 we had a great site, Filterblade, with a nice interface to create and adjust a loot filter for our needs. That’ll come again eventually, but for now we only have a text file and need to edit it manually. You can check the description of this video for my loot filter. If you have a filter already from Neversink, then just copy/paste it into a backup copy of that file. Otherwise you have to download it, put it in your My Games PoE folder with a .filter extension.

Regarding the tidbit about whether or not the copy is a minion... Didn't intend for this to be long but I don't think there's away to shorten the explanation and connect all the dots properly lol... Here we go:
On the passive skill tree there is a node named "Attack dmg with nearby Ally". ALLY is the key here. The description of ally says "other players, Minions, and any other ENTITY that fights alongside you and HAS ITS OWN STATS". Then the description of Lingering Illusion mentions the copy of yourself can be damaged by enemies and goes on to say it has 20% of your max life aka ITS OWN STATS. Thus, the copy is considered an "ally entity" by the game, the same as a minion. Which leads me to believe this is working as intended, so it may get nerfed, but I don't think it should be outright patched.

Maybe it's worth changing the topic on the build page (maxroll site) on the part that mentions "Heavy Reliance on Triggered Abilities", and a question. Is it possible to use both types of generators? (cast on freezing and lingering illusion)
lol, just tried this, and it's not working?? Can they silence patched it, I mean, it's just lingering Illusion, tempest flurry with minion pact, and CI right, I find hard to say I'm doing it wrong here.

you need it to last long enough for the HP to go to 0 to use the attack for minion pact, if it expires, it doesn't count as it "dying"
I just checked out your maxroll guide, the blink setup is not in there at all?
Do you just have this setup for every boss encounter randomly or are you not using it anymore?
I never actually used blink for myself. But a lot of people like it, so I showcased it here.
i made a lot of currency using your methods in poe 1, but i'm struggling hard in poe 2. doing maps all day and getting nothing. hoping for a video on mapping strategy for currency making.
You need to have like 200% increased rarity.

Hey Snoo, so im wondering on your Maxroll you have 10 Skil slots. I only have 9 skills on my lv 95 Monk. Wondering how you unlock the 10th skill.?? Did i miss something in campaign or do I have to be a certain level. Thanks in advance and as always great video
You need a special ring with a implicit "Grants 1 additional Skill Slot". Those are pretty cheap
Several things in the game must be coded as a minion as its base. I've seen several other games do this exact same thing. League of Legends is the best example I can think of. Almost everything is coded as a minion/creep. This must be why minion pact works with lingering illusion.
Any thoughts on using blink+frenzy charges with ur stat passive tree? I've had great success with milky's build that you talked abuot in your other video, but i want the additional charged staff range your build has and the faster attack speed. What are your thoughts about this? Also, can you showcase your new build and full resistances as your last one had lacking resistances? Lastly, do you enchant your amulet with a distill formula?
I was using Defiance as a cheap anoint, but recently swapped to Spaghettification.

it would be my honor to get ready of siphoning strike wow. Fixes alot of annoying boss swapping techs too. I want to switch to attribute stacking but something tells me it will be gone shortly.

u can snapshot all gain dps skills and mechanics in the game with flickerstrike cause all future hits count as the first hit so for example things like ambush will boost ur flickerstrike till it ends cheers

Stupid question... Do charges give you any passive benefits beyond simply getting consumed by abilities?
Just tested and this also works with ice strike if you are doing a cold build with monk.

It is interresting that it works. Because Minion Pact is bugged, it doesnt work on actual minions. I tried it on the fireskulls and other minions, because i wanted to trigger cast on minion death with it. But it didnt work.
Just for the future, if they change/fix it, there is a chance that it will work on normal minions in the future. So even if they nerf it, it is very likely to happen, that you could probably use profane ritual on cast on minion death and just use a couple of spirit to send some squishy minions to their death.
Because the cast energy you need depends on the cooldown of the spell, it is very easy to trigger profane ritual this way.
Also cast on freeze works with profane ritual. I dont like cast on shock on them, because the shock chance is just nerfed to death.
As a Monk, the minion topic is quite interresting. You are not too far away from the mage skill tree, there are a couple of uniques and tricks you could use to create a minion monk.
I tried some proof of concepts with it, and a minion monk with fireballs is actually quite fun. But I want to farm a little bit more gear on t15/t16 with my "normal" monk until I can make the minion monk work perfectly well. But I think it could be a really great fun way to play.
There also some Cast on Minion Death combos which trigger Comet quite a lot. So depending on how or what ggg nerfs next, there might be still some chances.
It's not bugged your minions just need more life in order to trigger the requirements, hard to tell what the life threshold is though

I think it's more about having a half-way decent ES pool as the stipulation. I wouldn't go CI with much under 2k ES.

Big @SnooBAE85 I'm really struggling with scaling this build, I have similar-ish gear with 69% ingenuity, where can you scale the damage up? Is it mostly the cold/fire/phys on rings? I'm fully linked but for example my tempest flurry is only at 27k, heralds at 7,2k and 4,8k etc, your numbers are wild by comparison
Most people with this issue are prioritizing attributes too much and flat damage too little. Try to get two tier 8+ flat damage rolls on each ring. See what that does. One of them needs to be cold damage though.

@@snoobae8553 Okay I must be doing something wrong, I have a t8 cold + t4 fire on one ring and a t8 phys, t7 cold and t6 fire on the other ring, and my quarterstaff strike is only at 35k lmao. 69% ingenuity btw :D Any tips for what you reckon it could be? Very similar setup and just a few levels behind.
