    I agree that Brian's death was the beginning of the end for The Beatles as a group. He had a stabilizing effect on them. He was a person that they could trust implicitly, someone who knew them from when they were nobodies, someone who took care of them and encouraged them but didn't boss them around. After his death, The Beatles were like a ship without a rudder. Thanks for posting this! 😊

      Yeah, Epstein was a solid guy for the Beatles, who really did seem to have their best interests at heart-unlike so many managers in the music business. And the fact is, without him seeing the potential of the band, they likely would have stayed a regional band doing mainly covers, and the entire history of popular music would have potentially evolved differently.

    Fantastic - Great to see/hear the 'younger generation' honor the visionaries of the past - I've luved the Beatles for what seems like my entire life, etc etc etc... BTW: I also knew the late Nat Weiss - Epsteins 'friend' and business lawyer connection in NYC

      Awe thanks so glad you enjoyed it! Yes I did know about Nat Weiss but it was kept very quiet.

    I like to think that had Epstein lived longer, The Beatles would also have lived longer. Whatever his faults, he wasn't predatory like so many other managers of the day.

      I completely agree with you I think eventually they would have broke free of the others but it was chaos after he died! And yes he truly cared about them!

      Mmmm how would have Brian have dealt with Yoko?

    • @Neil-Aspinall
      @Neil-Aspinall 3 месяца назад

      John Lennon wanted to leave the Beatles as far back as 1966. Brian being alive (as mentally sick as he was?) would not have been much different, in fact Brian was so sick that he was looking around to sell his contract which in fact could have even shortened the Beatles life span.

      @@TheBeatlesWings-sx1eo How long is a piece of string? Lennon was bored with being a Beatle so even if Ono hadn't of come along someone just as disruptive would have. Brian was almost a basket case at this stage so his opinion would not have been considered anyway.

    If he signed a five year contract in 1962 and he died in 1967. Did they renew the contract? The group also stopped touring and that left Brian feeling less important.

    • @TheBeatlesWings-sx1eo
      @TheBeatlesWings-sx1eo  3 месяца назад +4

      Yes their contract was about to be up and he did feel like he wasn’t needed anymore I believe but he also had so many other insecurities. Do I think they would have signed again YES but I think he would have gotten a lesser cut.

    Wasn't George Martin...or Billy Preston usually called "The 5th Beatle"?

    The original issue of "My Bonnie" was credited to Tony Sheridan & The Beat Brothers, not Beatles.

    " the merchandising was lucrative for the Beatles" Ahh the Merchandising was profitable for everyone except the Beatles. Better research TBW.

    • @TheBeatlesWings-sx1eo
      @TheBeatlesWings-sx1eo  3 месяца назад +3

      So the US merchandise was not profitable for the Beatles at all but not all merchandise sold was not in some way profitable to them.

      Also if you watched the whole video merchandise was on both the positive and negative sides of what Epstein did!
