Thank you. I don’t even live in LA and I’m curious to see how it all comes together.

great! I've been to many airports like Japan, Singapore, S. Korea... you will NEVER see traffic on airports. The only ones allowed are shuttle bus, taxis or everything is connected by great transit/trains. That's the best way is to keep any private cars away from the airport for traffic and security reasons.

The only vehicles allowed on the horseshoe after this should be bikes and skateboards.

Thanks for the update. Great to see updated renditions. I hadn't realized how close the ITF East is to the Metro Transit Hub.

So to go to lax, we’re going to have to get dropped off at this station, take the people mover around to 8 gates if we’re on the other side of the horseshoe, and then go to the terminal? Seems easier to just have the Uber go through the horseshoe. It’s rarely that bad.

Thank you for this! It's exciting to see how my experience will improve using my airport, and how every one of these construction updates you show for LAX should have happened at least a decade ago. Phoenix's airport for example has been steadily receiving similar upgrades since 2013, with their extensive SkyTrain construction/extensions and Terminal renovations, that are still happening today. It will be interesting to see if placing Rideshare/Taxi/Hotel Shuttles at the ITF West station will actually help congestion within the horseshoe (and entering/exiting it), or if it's really just a cursed aged out design from a less crowded era in LA history. I just hope the Metro station gets substantial usage, the fact that you have to change lines to head towards most areas of the city (until around 2050 when the K Line northern extension could possibly be completed but who the hell knows) worries me a little and might hinder usage, especially the homeless population seeking shelter at night + riders with luggage could be easy targets for theft/pickpocketing, already an issue on Metro Rail with phones and valuables literally being snatched out of peoples hands, especially tourists. Also if the pick up area gets congested or not from Rideshare vehicles, as that's been happening with the current temporary solution for years now.

Jumping to the worst case scenarios is hysterical.
LAX started this renovation and expansion more than a decade ago. The new TBIT opened in 2013. The LAX project is the largest in the country and probably the Western hemisphere at a cost of about $30 billion.
I've heard they will eventually charge a toll for SOV that come into the horseshoe via toll transponders.
The APM, ITF stations, and Metro Transit Hub will be a great success, and will change LAX forever in the best of ways. Passengers and people picking them up and dropping them off will have many more options now. Very exciting.

@@mrxman581 I'm definitely going into it with high expectations, that's all! I've had to deal with horrendous experiences at what should be a world-class airport all my life, if _Phoenix's_ airport is better than _LAX_ then something is wrong haha. My experiences are obviously more on the casual domestic usage instead of international tourism, although I have seen the two international terminals and they are lovely! Especially the west concourse, it reminds me a bit of Sacramento (SMF).
The changes made a decade ago were more specific and still didn't address bigger issues like congestion, the state of the 8 other terminals, the lack of a desperately needed APM lol. The inside of terminals started to be improved in 2015 but it still felt marginal and wasn't every terminal, just 1 6 7 and 8. When all of these have been commonly known issues for decades!
I didn't know about the tolls, and that gives me some reassurance on the congestion for sure. I have all the faith in whoever is making these changes, especially because the Olympics usually brings in the big bucks into projects 😂 just look at the Intuit Dome and all the work being done around SoFi Stadium too. There's no need to interpret my comments as anything bad, it's the result of dealing with a shitty major US airport for years!

Once all the van shuttles and buses disappear from the horseshoe, they need to also ban all the huge black executive service SUVs that hog the lanes and block curb access. Anyone who’s been to LAX lately knows what a nuisance they are.
