I tried it and the salt effects work so great in combination with the painted lichen. Thank you very much!

I often bring home lichens etc to admire close up, never attempted to paint them but after watching your demo I'm inspired! Your advice on colour mixing is so good too. Thank you.

Thank you that was a pleasure to watch , you don't hang around and your comments are helpful and necessary , allowing your technique to speak for itself... beautiful delicate work and nice to see your dog out collecting subject matter with you , and great tip with the salt .

Amazing! We (my husband and I) watched your tutorials all evening and throughly enjoyed them. Living in the coastal low country of South Carolina USA we have lichen all over our live oak trees. I would love to paint some of the photographs I’ve taken here.

And we lived in northern Scotland for 3.5 years in the early 70’s. We still at our age use the term walk-about. I’m learning so much from your tutorials. I loved your line and wash tutorial, and I love that you show how to mix. I have always mixed Ultramarine rather than Prussian Blue - I’m going to give your choice a try and see if I like it better. Every video is full of sage advice for the colorist at any stage of experience. Thank you, Wendy.

Thanks so much for your amazing instruction, it’s exactly what I was looking for as I’ve been wanting to paint the beautiful mosses and lichen covering our trees in the Pacific Northwest, especially in January on these gray days!

Wonderful video. And rather than make the techniques esoteric you instead make it all quite sensible. I think I just might be able to move beyond stick figures now. I'm suspecting that some of these techniques will apply also to acrylic paints. I'm a model railroader so water colours are not really fit for that purpose. Nevertheless, I have definitely picked up a few very good ideas from your video and have subscribed. I look forward to watching anything you put out. Thanks very much.

I appreciate the demo. I need lichen for a painting I'm doing. But you never showed what it looks like when you remove the salt.

@@WendyPowellJones That is something I missed. You remove the salt, perhaps after everything has dried? I'll have to pay more attention and watch the video again.
By the way, where did the idea of using salt come from? I love techniques like. It is a bit trite to say this, but that strikes me as a case of thinking outside of the box. Well done Madame, well done.
