Oh my gosh I get it. My mom is Mexican, my dad was born in Miami, his dad is Cuban and his mom is German and I'm white as hell but I got that really curly hair that if I let it dry without putting anything in it it gets really nappy. My brother got the nice bleach blonde hair. Hispanics never believed we were Hispanic, no one did really, until we started speaking Spanish. My mom was born in Mexico but she's white too, people hear a little bit of her accent and have tried to guess where she's from, no one has ever guessed Mexico. Her dad, my grandpa, had blonde hair blue eyes, born in Mexico too, but his family came from France. It's pretty crazy how it all works.

Cuba had Chinese Cubans before the revolution too. “Cuban” is just a nationality like “American”, not a actual race.

@@edithdlp8045 Yeah, there was a big push for Cuban national pride as a way to unite against the Spanish crown. So coming to America in the 1960s would've been a huge culture shock. We just call ourselves Cuban in our family, because our culture is the same regardless of color or phenotype. In America, black Americans have different cultural music, foods, and accents than their white counterparts. In Cuba, the music and food are the same for everyone, and the accents are regional, not racial. Not to say that there isn't racism in Cuba; but just saying that it looked VERY different than 60s Jim Crow.

This greed based system we've got isn't doing most of us any favors. I've often wondered if Communism itself was the problem or the people in charge of it. Isn't it supposed to be a system where everybody shares equally? I really don't know that much about it except that when it or anything even remotely similar to it gets brought up, many people just go crazy without explaining why. I understand that things in Cuba are not the way they should be for the citizens. I have an elderly friend who came from there decades ago and still has family there. She has told me about wanting to be able to send money or even over the counter medicines to her family, but they either do not get them or have to pay a high price for them. Something definitely needs fixed with their system. I feel sorry for the people.

It's the conservative, boy-scout haircut. It accentuates the ears' size, which in turn makes the nose more noticeable. The result is a good-looking guy, but too masculine to qualify for cute or movie star. So, yeah, def every U.S. cop.

I was born in Miami and move to Ft. Lauderdale when I was 4. I have a great appreciation for Cuban food. Love it. The jokes are so funny. I knew they were a stereotype. I went to Westminster Academy and was a scorekeeper for the baseball team. Our coach was Cuban, but the other teams did not know it. It helped us win games, because the other teams would speak in Spanish, and we knew what they were saying. He was my Spanish teacher, too. We called him Don Jose.

Some even have German or Spaniard for sure mostly do, African, even Asian.... there is all that for example in Mexico, indigenous people are less seen. The modern Mexican has European descendancy with indigenous.

@@chrisjulius8050 Mexicans are VERY proud of Indigenous blood on a shocking level even. While most Cubans are not pure European descendants many if not most in the US come out looking pretty White Mediterranean looking.

Actually I think I read somewhere that the band playing while the ship sank was a myth. It didn't really happen.
Bonus points: the cello floating wouldn't have helped if he wasn't also a significant distance from the ship when it sank. Big ships like that? They do Fun things to the water as they sink, particularly when they finally go under. sucks everything in the general area down with them.
