- Thanks again to Tony for the casting. Here is my Field Car inspired by a recent episode I watched on Bitchin Rides. I hope you all like it.

Great Job Rob, love the changes you have done. Colour is great and the tyres are just right for it. I have a couple of these without the roof so I now have some idea of what is possible to do with them.

Well done as always. Growing up I coveted my brother's Matchbox Field Car. The closest thing I had to it was my Hot Wheels Grass Hopper, lime green.

Beautiful result! I am so glad you decided to keep the suspension. That is what I miss about those old Matchbox cars - I lament the fact that they got rid of suspension along the way.

Hey Rob, I haven't received any notification on your last two videos. Oh well I here now and that's what counts.
Looks like a '60s IH Scout with a custom front end. The 1/4 panel even has the same upswept character line.
I agree. The grille reminds me a bit of the 1964 Studebaker Wagonaire, and the taillights of a Ford Cortina.

its fun, but i cant stop remembering the old fieldcar that i got as a kid. it came as a set with tha also yellow honda motorcycle trailer with the metallic blue motorbike. three vehicles in one gift...man, that was fun.

A favourite model of mine. I think that it's based on the 'International Scout' vehicle. That's what it looks like to me. Great custom, as always. Nice one.
P. S. - Bog standard 'Halfords' (#notspon) Acrylic primer is superb. I've used it for years. You can get it in Black, White, Grey and Red. Bloody great cans, last for ages. As used on TV shows like 'Thunderbirds', and movies like 'Alien', too.

@@MatchboxGarage- I've never found it to be problematic. It's just a good, basic primer. If Poundland didn't keep selling out of their own primer, I'd use that all the time.
Nice job on this one Rob , l just finished watching the Kindig it F150 truck they did with a retractable roof , that was some design feet they did on that one . Nice tribute you've done here with a roadster style scout 👍😀

Would I have recognised this as a Matchbox Field Car? Not too sure but I think I would. It looks so different though. That colour works well Rob, very classy - "Metallic Morning Dew", or something similar.😁 It suits the soft-top look too, lovely job.👍👌😁

Nice job - I think the Field Car is the last Matchbox casting to a use separate rubber tyre, a hangover from the original release in 1969

nice colour, looks good in this dropped stance. :) though it would be too low for some places in germany where you think you need a panzer to get home in one piece. XD
The most rare 1/24th die cast metal RV model; you can/will ever find is, the 6 wheel Winnebago. Very well that's what; the 'Transformers' Autobot Commander, Rodimus Prime comes in the form of. It's what we fellow Americans; didn't construct/assemble during the mid 60s, such as like in 1965.

the field car was modelled on the international harvester 800 ,, a company more assosciated with combine harvesters
What you did the reveal my first impression was that it looked like a cartoon car and I don't mean that in a bad way. The bronze colour and the black really stand out and look like something somebody may have drawned and coloured in.
It's true that I'm even searching for 1/24th scale die cast metal model RVs.⚖
Like the custom but that would be a GREAT undercoat for a pearl orange or red.

I think Elli’s Tool would have knocked it out pretty fast.
Rob you did another wonderful job but you meant you're missing one thing that you should have added to it at least a roll bar and I think you should have made an attempt to make some type of top or it had it rolls up in the back I think that would have been set in the car off completely other than that it's fantastic brother

So Brexit is coming to hurt the hobby there as it went in the continent? It has been an hard divorce for us. I used uk product once, now I shop in France, Spain, Germany and my italy
that was true before brexit , all our industry had been raped and pillaged by the EU , very little is actually made in the UK today our old industries have been relocated to the EU or asian countries , what we do have left is re packaging or assembling foreign goods
for legacy's sake...please stop cutting off all the damn tow hooks! honor the vision of the toy's designing team by keeping a tow hook intact every so often...
