Great Job Rob, love the changes you have done. Colour is great and the tyres are just right for it. I have a couple of these without the roof so I now have some idea of what is possible to do with them.
Beautiful result! I am so glad you decided to keep the suspension. That is what I miss about those old Matchbox cars - I lament the fact that they got rid of suspension along the way.
Cool Fieldcar You build Rob! Great colour you mixed. That paint reminds me on my Datsun Stanza I bought in 1982. The wheel change was also a brilliant idea. Cannot wait for Your next project! 👍👍👍
A favourite model of mine. I think that it's based on the 'International Scout' vehicle. That's what it looks like to me. Great custom, as always. Nice one. P. S. - Bog standard 'Halfords' (#notspon) Acrylic primer is superb. I've used it for years. You can get it in Black, White, Grey and Red. Bloody great cans, last for ages. As used on TV shows like 'Thunderbirds', and movies like 'Alien', too.
@@MatchboxGarage- I've never found it to be problematic. It's just a good, basic primer. If Poundland didn't keep selling out of their own primer, I'd use that all the time.
Nice job on this one Rob , l just finished watching the Kindig it F150 truck they did with a retractable roof , that was some design feet they did on that one . Nice tribute you've done here with a roadster style scout 👍😀
I've been watching your videos for a little while now, and now u have a new subscriber I enjoy watching u refix up each car, and truck, and they turn out to be cool I'm thinking of taking up this hobby, and your channel has shown me alot so thank you for that I will continue to give u thumbs up, and I hope you have a great rest of the week. 👍😎🇨🇦
Great job 😎 Love that colour, that suits very well this car and nice details, good wheel choice. That Matchbox field car casting looks quite a lot like International Scout... 🤔
Would I have recognised this as a Matchbox Field Car? Not too sure but I think I would. It looks so different though. That colour works well Rob, very classy - "Metallic Morning Dew", or something similar.😁 It suits the soft-top look too, lovely job.👍👌😁
Rob that is great man! Really inspired color choice in the wheels are just perfect. As always I love your custom detailing which just hits the spot. Congrats mate
its fun, but i cant stop remembering the old fieldcar that i got as a kid. it came as a set with tha also yellow honda motorcycle trailer with the metallic blue motorbike. three vehicles in one gift...man, that was fun.
Being a topless car now, the light interior is cooler than a black one would be (in real life). Nice job on the top chop! I like the colour on the car but in the mixing pot it looked like baby poop! Nice job overall Rob! It looks like it's ready to drive to the club for a round of golf and drinks!
nice colour, looks good in this dropped stance. :) though it would be too low for some places in germany where you think you need a panzer to get home in one piece. XD
Wow great work man! Hope all is well! I enjoyed ur build u got for us today!! Thank u! I gotta say rob I love the color idk why but it’s like it’s a peanut butter type color I don’t know why I see it but I do!! I love it
The most rare 1/24th die cast metal RV model; you can/will ever find is, the 6 wheel Winnebago. Very well that's what; the 'Transformers' Autobot Commander, Rodimus Prime comes in the form of. It's what we fellow Americans; didn't construct/assemble during the mid 60s, such as like in 1965.
What you did the reveal my first impression was that it looked like a cartoon car and I don't mean that in a bad way. The bronze colour and the black really stand out and look like something somebody may have drawned and coloured in.
Rob you did another wonderful job but you meant you're missing one thing that you should have added to it at least a roll bar and I think you should have made an attempt to make some type of top or it had it rolls up in the back I think that would have been set in the car off completely other than that it's fantastic brother
So Brexit is coming to hurt the hobby there as it went in the continent? It has been an hard divorce for us. I used uk product once, now I shop in France, Spain, Germany and my italy
that was true before brexit , all our industry had been raped and pillaged by the EU , very little is actually made in the UK today our old industries have been relocated to the EU or asian countries , what we do have left is re packaging or assembling foreign goods
for legacy's sake...please stop cutting off all the damn tow hooks! honor the vision of the toy's designing team by keeping a tow hook intact every so often...
Great Job Rob, love the changes you have done. Colour is great and the tyres are just right for it. I have a couple of these without the roof so I now have some idea of what is possible to do with them.
Thanks again Tony 👍🏼
@@MatchboxGarage you are always welcome Rob.
Well done as always. Growing up I coveted my brother's Matchbox Field Car. The closest thing I had to it was my Hot Wheels Grass Hopper, lime green.
He is one of America's top custom builders, love his work. I believe you hit it out of the park on this one Rob. Nice !
Great job as always Rob! Love the way the old girl turned out! God bless and stay safe across the pond

Lovely job Rob. I got my field car from a jumble sale down my Nan’s flats when I was about 8 or 10. It’s probably still in my mum’s attic!
Wow, what a difference. Nice job Rob. Hope your doing well. Take care.
Nice one.
Reminds me of the good old slury paint jar... collour turned out great.
The good old paint slurry haha
definitely from shabby to shiny. the color schemes are well done looks awesome
Looks good Rob. I met Dave Kindig and Kev Dog a few years ago. They both seemed like nice, genuine guys.
Great job with this custom. The paint color really turned out nice and those wheels look good with the new lower stance.
awesome change....went from a nerdy vehicle to a boss vehicle....love the change.
Hi Rob,it's looking smart, the details do look so nice after a restoration, the wheels set it off and sits low as if the car has air ride.👌
I’ve got one of these to do without the plastic roof so this has given me some inspiration.
Nice restoration Rob. I think it was the right choice to keep the interior unchanged. It makes for a good color match.
Great job with your Custom Field car from Matchbox .
I love your creativity on this! I would drive this in a heartbeat. 👏🏻
Color is spot on. stance is perfect. I would have done the same with the top.
The paint and stance look fantastic Rob, does anyone else think that the Matchbox designer used rear lights from a Mk1 Ford Cortina?
A favourite model of mine. I think that it's based on the 'International Scout' vehicle. That's what it looks like to me. Great custom, as always. Nice one.

Thanks mate but does it not fill in too much of the detail on these little castings 🤔
@@MatchboxGarage- I've never found it to be problematic. It's just a good, basic primer. If Poundland didn't keep selling out of their own primer, I'd use that all the time.
Great job Rob, love the color 😀,,such a fine look, thanks for sharing and as always "Howdy from Texas "!!
I’d totally drive this 🙂
The colour is perfect in my opinion.
Just a nice job all around. 👍
color was right the car without the roof look good great idea
Nice colour mix and great inspiration. Amazing outcome as always Cheers Michael
Looks awesome!! I’ve met Dave Kindig and he’s a really nice guy!
Amazing restomod. Paint looks like a shiney polished turd. I dig it. Well done.

I'm digging this one! The color is amazing! Well done!👏👏👏
Love watching your work.

"....that's bigger than six inches. At least I hope it is anyway." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice work as always Rob, and appreciate the laugh!
Love the details, wheel choice and color choice for this model. Yes, the color looks perfect for the build. Well done!
Reminds me a little bit on a Citroen Mehari. Nice job. Well done!
Nice build and paint job 👍👍
WOW . AWESOMENESS.
Paint is great 👍.
Great job 😎
Love that colour, that suits very well this car and nice details, good wheel choice.

That colour is a beauty nice job , over all it looks great .............. Thumbs Up
that likes nice it looks like a beach buggy ready for the surf
A real beauty Rob. I did a similar thing to the one I restore
its fun, but i cant stop remembering the old fieldcar that i got as a kid. it came as a set with tha also yellow honda motorcycle trailer with the metallic blue motorbike. three vehicles in one gift...man, that was fun.
Cracking job. Welcome back Rob.
Looks like a '60s IH Scout with a custom front end. The 1/4 panel even has the same upswept character line.
I agree. The grille reminds me a bit of the 1964 Studebaker Wagonaire, and the taillights of a Ford Cortina.
Hey Rob, I haven't received any notification on your last two videos. Oh well I here now and that's what counts.
Nice job - I think the Field Car is the last Matchbox casting to a use separate rubber tyre, a hangover from the original release in 1969
Being a topless car now, the light interior is cooler than a black one would be (in real life). Nice job on the top chop!
I like the colour on the car but in the mixing pot it looked like baby poop! Nice job overall Rob! It looks like it's ready to drive to the club for a round of golf and drinks!
Absolutely fantastic
Awesome job Rob👍🏻
Man that is sweet great job Rob.
My brother had this one. Brown plastic top!
Wow! It looks great!!
Great job on this one, Rob! Looks sharp!
I Like it! Its a mix between a Citroën mehari and a Ford Bronco
Great job Rob 👍👍👍👍
Great job, looks loads better 🙂👍👍
Wow I like that colour
Real change in this one. The new wheels and top removal really look great!
Great job, Dave and Kev Dogg would approve 👍🏻😎
Wow, you did a great job with this castings. Love the way you teaches the spare. Looks awesome!
nice colour, looks good in this dropped stance. :) though it would be too low for some places in germany where you think you need a panzer to get home in one piece. XD
Really diferent and looks spot on mate
Amazes me how clean your work area is! (Just looking at mine....Sheesh!) As usual - very entertaining video, thanks (and thanks Tony)! LOL

I love this mod. Looks really nice!! 😊👍👍
Looks like a 65 International Scout go anywhere, workhorse.
Looks great
Like the custom but that would be a GREAT undercoat for a pearl orange or red.
Nice job sir 👍

Pretty nice custom job, wheels are perfect... I don't remember if the original casting has a windshield or not. Anyway, excellent job 👍
Excelente video de restauracion y personalizacionde de este coche inspirado en un Bitchin Rideseste, mis respetos y saludos desde Venezuela.💯👍💯🤘🤘🙏
You've really done it justice, Rob!
Awesome mate 👍
I think I have one of these - with roof. Somewhere...
Great job! Love the detail in the grille...
What you did the reveal my first impression was that it looked like a cartoon car and I don't mean that in a bad way. The bronze colour and the black really stand out and look like something somebody may have drawned and coloured in.
One of your best I like
Really like this, would be even better, if you can put in a windscreen. 👍
Love it
It's true that I'm even searching for 1/24th scale die cast metal model RVs.⚖
Rob you did another wonderful job but you meant you're missing one thing that you should have added to it at least a roll bar and I think you should have made an attempt to make some type of top or it had it rolls up in the back I think that would have been set in the car off completely other than that it's fantastic brother
I think Elli’s Tool would have knocked it out pretty fast.
Nice ❤️🚘❤️🚘❤️
Cute little car. i would lie to see it in its original duty as a "field car" a little more, but fine custom. .
1% SUV school run... in the US we call them Mall Crawlers. only dirt is from a gravel road.
Bitchin’ ride!
And of course; some of these 1/24th plastic and die cast scale models, require 1/24th plastic scale model figurines, PC board and PC board parts.⚖
Hey Rob how was the lockdown in UK? whats going on at the UK?
We are still in lockdown mate 😢
What is the oldest die cast car you worked on
Probably a dinky from the 50s
Dave kindige design .....hmmm kindige customs
It's Dave kindig and the show is called bitchin rides
