  • Shortlisted for the 13th edition of the Jacques Rougerie Foundation's 2023 International Competition for Architecture and Innovation - Académie des beaux-arts. Every year, in partnership with UNESCO, the Foundation organizes an international architecture and innovation competition. This unique call for creativity offers artists, architects, designers, engineers and urban planners a unique opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams to propose daring and disruptive architectural projects focused on climate, ocean and space.
Plastic has become a global issue with our oceans being filled with our waste, but what if we could turn this waste into an architectural opportunity?
Over 400 million tons of plastic are produced every year, with 14 million tons ending in our oceans. The Coral Manufacture Station aims to be one small part of a much-needed mission to restore our planet, by using fire to fight fire, hence plastic against plastic, for the betterment of our planet. By navigating towards plastic continents and islands polluting the sea, the CMS researches and processes this plastic into construction blocks, used for the expansion of the station itself, moreover creating floating devices for islands and countries, such as Tuvalu, in dire need of floating spaces.
This video has been produced using Blender, from modelling, to animation.
