Thanks for teaching me; my timbales wasn’t sounding good and this video helped me to get that sound that I accept. GOD bless you!

This is the only video that makes sense on tuning to pitch. A and D below (i.e.. 4A and 3D on a drum tune-bot or use a pitch tuner ). THANK YOU.

Timbales do not tune to any key of the pentagram nor any drum. The barrel of the drum dictates the tone of the drum.

I like how he explains how to do up a nut and bolt, and just in case you weren't sure, tells you you have to do all of them, then doesn't bother to mention the hell of getting the lugs at different tensions.

Yes that is a pain to get it level. Sorry 13 years late.

I learned exactly what I needed to learn as he taught exactly what he needed to teach. Don’t blame him for not catering to what you wanted; be grateful, it’s a free video, and no one told you to watch. GOD bless you!

I'd like to know how to set up and tune a double-pair of timbales and how they are positioned. Specifically, how Jose Chepito Areas (Santana's percussionist) set up his.

Fortunately, my timbales have standard drum key-style tuning, and since I play kit, I think I might be able to figure it out.

My Marc Quinones do tune a lot easier than my old headline pair, but I always tune (once finger tightened) each lug because as per Sweavo's comment unlevel lug is hell, and it causes the head to warp.

he's a terrible instructor. He did not make anything clear. Some people are just better at doing and not teaching and he just proved it.
