could we get a video on how to make a drop like Maurice West Music theory wise while using this technique, and on how to make drop stabs, because a lot of people want to make their own :D
Kickstart etc. Get a kontakt library, choose a brass, do stacatto? (Lmao not sure how it's called) Add some OTT and camel crusher ;) I think there's already a tutorial about this ^.^
I almost watched your all bigroom tutorials plus sound design tutorials ! First of all sorry zen , this is my first comment , cuz everytime i watch your video and run back to my pc to and try your methods ! Thankz zen , u are my inspiration 😜😍
You know what Zen, you are so right. When I put in all the additives I completed all my tracks, and lately I'm trying to rush myself and I have got almost nothing completes in contrast to before when I was just pumping song after song out like every second day.. Thank you man, you're so right.
This advice is even really helpful when starting a track with the break. A lot of the time it´s a struggle to find a fitting Drop idea. And starting of with the drums and grooves is a perfect starting point ... thanks Frankie
Thanks Zen World I've been looking for this kind of inspiration for this kind of music thank you so much!! I've been making hip hop beats forever, and been wanting to make an edm style track but don't know how to start it. I try to make something but it always sounds like shit but now watching this and your other tutorials I think I found what I've been looking for thank you Sir!!
I'm a g house producer and this advice translates perfectly. The genre has lots of perc., fills, adds, and vocals. Usually I'm complete all those components first, then design a unique sound and fill in the gaps
This is great advice that I can confirm works well, I used to be really inspired by working on a rhythmic percussion first with a driving bassline over 4-16 bars and then finding everything else after. And guess what? For some reason I've forgot about this in my drive to get a cleaner sound over the past few years, so the video is appreciated!
Thanks a lot this really helped me get head start on my trance track fly high like the wings of bird..sing the words, record them with the beat and layer a keys over what fits..using midi..:) your videos have all been inspiring keep up the gr8 work
Just some websites, haven't produced for anyone who has approached me themselves yet. I love big room but I think it's really hard to get exposure with it so I prefer to make money from it.
Good point, a lot of people are doing big room right now and I imagine it's hard to get noticed even if you have some originality to it. Best of luck to you my guy, the music industry is a tricky one.
Umm try.. EdmGhostProducer and Anonymous tracks...Anonymous tracks email support is better I think but you have more chances of selling your tracks on the first one.
I love how you make it look so simple and once I try it its way more complicated than it looks mate haha! this shows all the expirience you've got congrats! You keep amazing me in every tutorial! =D
Something i found out sometime ago. I know some producers can get away with making a track in C but subs in C are really difficult to sound good and present because of the lack of harmonics. Even if you distort them sometimes it's not enough to make them cut through, especially when they are just a plain sine or close to it.
wow!!! good stuff dude.... i love watching what you put out. been procastinating for the longest time to create music and this just inspired me. but dude, can you give me some advise on how i can learn music theory? you touched on being good at C scale. so can you please advise what tutorial i can go learn on music theory quickly and at the same time just focusing on one scale perhaps and learn everything about it. hope i make sense. aight. hope to hear from you man...
Hey Zen can you make a tutorial for the Olly James drop kick bass like you hear in Aruna or Demon Eyes Remix? And also a tutorial for the W&W kicks like the one you hear in Supa Dupa fly remix and Put em Up?
Hey zen can you show some methods to make leads stand out so i can't hear my shitty kick anymore..( i think it has to do with stereo imager or something )
So basically: Start by making the drop MINUS the drop melody, put all of the accompanying shit in there. Then make a good buildup. Then go back to the drop and come up with the lead melody by randomly comping up with melodies on the keyboard. Good tip!
lol "most dance music has a buildup... even tropical house has a shitty one." Nice video as usual. You're right, I'm not a big room fan but the lesson was still valuable. Will try this method on a new track for sure as it seems very intuitive.

This video is so sick man!! That drop lead was the best part
The first one is fire!! 🔥🔥🔥
I'm a g house producer and this advice translates perfectly. The genre has lots of perc., fills, adds, and vocals. Usually I'm complete all those components first, then design a unique sound and fill in the gaps
Thanks Zen! This has been the best production advice in the history of production advices, maybe ever!

Thanks a lot...will help me in being a better ghost producer
Mmm, produce for anyone in particular?
Just some websites, haven't produced for anyone who has approached me themselves yet.
I love big room but I think it's really hard to get exposure with it so I prefer to make money from it.
Good point, a lot of people are doing big room right now and I imagine it's hard to get noticed even if you have some originality to it. Best of luck to you my guy, the music industry is a tricky one.
yeah man, same for you :)

Zen you are really....really.....really helpful:)
You're such a master bro I really love you
Zen the best big room percussion in the drops are from Olly james.
Eg:Escobar it's simply amazing I recommend listening to it.
following your vids for a while now , always know that i will learn and laugh , Big up !
Great Tip! Thank you!
When would you choose to have a LFO based sidechain, ghost kick or just a compressor? Not that it matters much, just curious.
that was a perfect first take on the lead play behind it all

love this video zen great job
thanks for the tip. I knew my productions have been missing these types of elements like risers and effects this video definitely confirms that lolol
Man, W&W vibes ;)) Lit af
Thank you! Simple but great idea
My favorite was the first melody... You are playing perfect melodies lol
Thanks for the inspiriasion your videos are really helpfull
Yes, so right I was stuck in a song until I added some cool drum and I git inspired for the remaining elements
Does it matter to have the same kind of precision in the build up and the drop???
Thanx a lot Zen...
One question how is it that every sample u throw is perfectly synced? The phrase (hype factor) is the moral of this video
To be honest I thought of this technique a time ago but never used it..now it's time to try this
Such a gangsta 💁🏼♂️💯
Good video as usual, but make sure you separate the top of your kick from the low when you decide to add a shift in the pitch
Dope technique 🤙🏼
Can you show us how to a big room lead like the first one?
This made me subscribe to Zen.
Awesome tuto!!!!!!!!!
It's an interesing way to create something
Thanks Zen! This definitely helped since I'm still learning to make Big Room! :)
Zen please give me the name of the song at the end! I love it!
Thanks!
Hey Zen can you make a tutorial for the Olly James drop kick bass like you hear in Aruna or Demon Eyes Remix? And also a tutorial for the W&W kicks like the one you hear in Supa Dupa fly remix and Put em Up?
Razz-Y theres an olly drop style template in the Cell Revolution pack
Wanden thanks
yeah i know the technique similar to this . The idea is to use monotonous bass and build melodies on it
that last melody was dope
damn this tutorial is fire!! Really appreciate it
This is Legend !!!
How did you made the lead? A tutorial please
Dont all genres have a drop ? i mean you can even count a pop chorus a drop
Cursed Sound they re just called different.. e.g. Climax/Chorus/Hook etc
Please make a video making a future bass drop

Can we send you our tracks to review it? Tell us whats good and bad aka what needs work?

Hey zen can you show some methods to make leads stand out so i can't hear my shitty kick anymore..( i think it has to do with stereo imager or something )
Where can I get this Crowds FX's??
Olly James did it? Isn't the Crowd tecnique like 10 years old? when Vengeas added the crowd Fx on theire pack everyone used it
Prayda snare or big snare???
oliver heldens - flamingo, which makes sense because he used to do big room
So basically: Start by making the drop MINUS the drop melody, put all of the accompanying shit in there. Then make a good buildup. Then go back to the drop and come up with the lead melody by randomly comping up with melodies on the keyboard. Good tip!
And what plugin did he use for those sounds
This big kick make me want to make some banging techno lol
Nice big room leads
How do you get private lessons from you?
Another bangin' tutorial! Damn you're good!
Bigroom environment?
I thought your studio was on the small side :/
Though it's bigger than mine, I have none.

lol "most dance music has a buildup... even tropical house has a shitty one." Nice video as usual. You're right, I'm not a big room fan but the lesson was still valuable. Will try this method on a new track for sure as it seems very intuitive.
