Melissa was right, when she said it was like an episode of ground force, hilarious. Great to see the kindness of Paul and Nigel for helping you guys, especially now that you are under pressure to move from that spot to a different part of the yard, or even better for you guys, closer to your home. Keep up the good work, it's a joy to watch your work ethic, and always look forward to your next episode, take care, from Irish John in Looe Cornwall
Were cheering you on to m ake it to the finish line and get Melody in the water. Thank you so much to the kind people who are helping you as you make this sprint.
Never seen such industry and enthusiasm. Well done everyone. It makes for a very interesting video. You are all making incredible progress. Keep safe and well. James.
This is what mates are for I’m nearly 70 retired but when I was working I would bring home steel and quite happy 😃 to do welding and fab work for them I was a boiley maker/welder com machinist
The engine sounds very good. I ❤ the sound of a big diesel. When you were talking about the painting you made a brief mention of a colour scheme!.I have always felt that Melody is big and beautiful enough to carry a strong colour on her topsides so I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Whatever it is, I'm sure Melody will turn out beautifully.
With all the work you have done on 'Melody' I'd still allow money for a low loader as a backup plan for moving her. Great to see the progress and extra help to push you along the road to launching.
This is an All Hands on Deck episode for sure. I think you should paint your stripe along the shape of the top hull line. Wow Melissa(r), you have absolutely been busting your butt on getting things done, jobs well done. Andy good job on your alternator bracket.
Been following for a while now and just like to say how good your little ship is looking, a real credit to Team Melody, yes that includes you Jack, well done.
Wow it's really all hands on deck. Best of luck with all the work, to splash her, and sail her close to home. Last! Had to change my comment a bit. Melissa seems like there's less of her, plz this is only to be nice. But English is not my first language. Have the best week, hopefully everything will work out for the best, so you get the boat closer to home 🏡
If you want it to start easier then on the stop lever on the injector pump there is a little black rubber shroud. This covers the excess fuel/cold start button. Open the throttle lever just a bit, push in on the small metal button protruding from the rubber shroud and you should hear a clunk. Turn the ignition key or press the starter button and it will fire into life waaaaaay quicker than normal. The governor in the injector pump will automatically throw the button out once the revs cone up. Much easier on the engines starter and the battteries and eliminates need for starting fluid of any type.
Ouch. Been rebuilding those pumps for over 40 years and the only ones that the excess fuel button never worked on were some of the Sabre marine engines which were deliberately made not to be used. Some might need a bit more throttle than others. Otherwise ising a 1/2 inch spanner you can remove the door and operate the button to see if the control rod is actually moving. Should look for a Ford truck D-series Sloper" 6cylinder engine. On their injector pump they came with a little hinged bracket that can be hooked to a choke type cable so cold starti g could be done without lifting cabs or floor to get to the inj pump. Be nice to get it to work.
@@pauldark3847 Paul Dark, was you born a "Dark" winter night lol. We need the story. I hope you could suggest Andy, that the whole crew, sit down to a QA or just a pow-wow, were you all tell how it's been, to work on Melody. Last, hope we will see your workshop, on a video. Have a great week 😀
Dear Sailing Melody family. 👍👌👏 Good heavens, all this looks and sounds really stressful. Nevertheless, a lot of progress happened. Luckily you had some expert helpers. I wish you all a lots and lots of power, health and good nerves to pull through. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.
Dear @@SailingMelody You're welcome! 2) Uuuuuh, you sent me even two hearts for one comment this time (blush) 😳. Thanks for replying and especially for the hearts. As you know, I totally appreciate both very much. Hope Melody is near your home soon. Sincerely yours Christian

Hells teeth….that was manic. So much happening everywhere. Poor old Andy trying to keep an eye on everything and everyone. But how fantastic to get so much done all at once. Must have taken a lot of pressure off your shoulders Andy ? Melissa, without being too personal….you look amazing you must have lot a weight now. Very well done, just in time for getting all the urgent work done pre splash. Stay safe stay well and look forward to the next thrilling episode.
Thanks very much for your time, I'm not a boat person but I've thoroughly enjoyed following your adventures. It won't be too long before you are in the water and enjoying sailing.
Oh wow go team melody get it into the sea and nearer home stop all the travelling along with its associated costs so excited to see this plan come together 😀
You're gonna get there before you know it. There is a song by a little band that mentioned something about getting by with a little help from our friends. True words. Thanks for sharing. You guys just helped me get through my day.
Amazing work done by one and all! Absolutely amazing the progress that has been made on Melody. I can already imagine the beaming smiles that will be on the faces when Melody splashes. Keep up the good work! Best wishes from bonnie Scotland

I got a "calorifier" from a central heating system (mine is about 10L) which I fitted in my new campervan build. Mine came with a automatically and thermostatically controlled mixer valve which I can set to the desired temperature (between 30 and 65 degrees C) and a safety valve which prevents pressure buildup on the hot drinking water outlet. In my situation the calorifier is filled with coolant and the internal copper coil is used to transfer the heat to the drinking water. That way I can have "some" hot water even if the engine is off for a little while (since the insulation has been upgraded by me as long as 4 hours after switchting off said engine I still have hot water to have at least 1 bucket and cup shower) Very few people use calorifiers in vans which I do not understand really, they are great, nicely low tech and generally brilliant and can be cheaply had at almost any central heating place which replaces boilers and the like...
