I was upset when Tim Duncan left Ernie....but then Roy Webb left. Two of the most gifted that he had!

I really didn't think anybody could be as good of a lead bass singer like George Younce, but Tim Duncan really is. He is a treasure for sure.
Tim Duncan is an amazing bass. he makes it look effortless. What a great talent he has been given. We thank God for Tim.
He isn’t better than George Younce. Evidentially you didn’t see George as a younger man. Tim has a few shoes to walk in before he is as good as George was🌹
@@pamelahinds3990 I am a huge Cathedrals fan, so, yes, I've heard quite a few decades of George and Glen. I never said Tim was better. I just think he is as good in terms of ability and range. It's hard to find true basses who can also sing lead and solos and not be too bass-y with it. Of course, experience will only add to that.

I remember seeing them in Arizona. Their Bass singer, in my estimation nothing short of amazing. He has to be, look at the amazing vocalists in this group. They're all stellar!
I still say, that's a heck of a voice coming out of that little body! NO DISRESPECT AT ALL! I would never figure he was THAT bass! I LOVE listening to him AND them!!!

I had to do a double take on that one. He sounded just like George Younce. My daddy was a bass singer and George was his hero. I listened to The Cathedral Quartet all the time. He would absolutely loved Tim Duncan and I do also.

I've watched these man in concert alone with the Gaithers, and they are fantastic. I'm amazed that they can sing that good while moving like they do. Joy is one of the fruit of the Spirit and this is pure joy. Anybody that says that they are just entertaining, I can bet you that these men love the Lord. The Lord rejoices when we have fun in His name.

Howard & Vestal Goodman wrote Trying to Get a Glimpse. Their original title was Standing By the River. This song was written in the Holy Land in January of 1973 when they took Ivan Castanza and I on our honeymoon. Since both of us were minors, we had to be accompanied by adults and Vestal was my great-grand aunt. We went to wade in the Jordan River just after dawn and I got caught in a sudden flash flood and swept downstream. Ivan was an accomplished competitive swimmer and he jumped in to save me. He told me not to fight him, and wrapped his arms around me. We just drifted with the current downstream till we found a place shallow enough to get out, about two miles downstream. Howard and Vestal started to worry when we didn't return. They wrote the chorus after about an hour. Then they wrote one verse each hour till our return around noon. After 5 hours of our being missing you can sense how frantic they were! We were just having fun on our honeymoon, but Howard and Vestal were quite worried. This is one of our "funny" honeymoon stories.
