I have a dry mouth due to medications I take. Dry mouth does not make you slur your words, and if you have it you keep a water bottle with you. There is also all kids of otc available. To me...it looked like he had a few drinks prior to the speech.

What's really telling is that if it *was* a problem with loose dental fixtures (which the speech patterns seemed to suggest), why would that be so bad to admit to? He's in his 70s! It wouldn't be unreasonable to think he's had some form of cosmetic tooth-work. A lot of things can cause slurred speech. I have same issue sometimes and is either from two bad concussions I had or cataplexy from my sleep disorder. Lot of neurological issues can cause that. On top of other things
There are only few things that actually cause cataplexy which is loss of muscle tone, more rare neurological problems but there are other neurological problems that could cause similar things. Or maybe his teeth don’t fit right or something
