Thanks mate! So its a Pearl M-80 Popcorn Snare 10x4 mic'd with a pretty cheap AKG P4. The trick was adding in some of the video mic mounted on the camera acting as a room mic, this gave all the drums more presence and tied everything together.
Quick question - why is your hi-hat set so low? It looks like you're having to bend your left wrist to avoid your right stick hitting it. Wouldn't it be easier for you to jack the hi-hat up a couple of inches so it's not just barely any higher than the snare?
Hi mate, good question. I've got it setup as close in height to the snare as possible to make transitions as fast as possible - usually when playing 16ths!
