When I watched this review I realised I actually never tried this one! Actually I don't think I tried any whiskies from the Flora&Fauna range, only IBs of those whiskies. It'll probably be hard to go back to these after trying single casks and cask strength ones but the way you describe this dram does sound delicious. Cheers Phil!
Big fan of Linkwood, got the F&F one and a backup as well a few indie bottles, great drop. Most sources say that the F&F series have been discontinued and we are just seeing old stock but there has not been any official statements from Diageo but that seems to be the consensus. Cheers 🥃
Great review, Phil. Like you, I'm glad there are still a few bottles of this kicking around. And, as you said, there are more than enough indie bottlings freely available on the market to keep Linkwood fans happy. Whether or not the F&F release has been discontinued is anyone's guess, though it has always been released in batches over the years , as far as I know, and the present batch may well be dwindling or disappearing on certain markets. At the end of the day, though, trying to work out what Diageo will do in the future with the F&F releases is like staring into a crystal ball and expecting some kind of truth to be revealed. Enjoy it while it's there would be my motto. Cheers.
I think parts of the range of still produced such as the Dailuaine (which I love) and the Blair Athol but not other expressions such as the Speyburn and Rosebank etc. Not had the Linkwood as I find the F&F range very hit and miss and there are now a myriad of better options.
Yeah, the Dailuaine is delicious. I can understand not wanting to take a punt on the F&F range. I've had iffy batches of the Benrinnes and Blair Athol before. Can happily say that all the Dailuaine 16's were delicious!
Is Diageo product good for start wee journey with Linkwood Phil in your opinion? Or pass it and go straight to IB? There are plenty independently bottled good looking Linkwoods so hard to choose one. Any suggestion? Cheers 👍😁🥂🙋🏻♂️
For the money, honestly, I'd start here. Just to give yourseld an idea of what the only consistent release tastes like. Then I'd move onto indie stuff. Or buy both at the same time. Little side by side.

Yeah, it's a lot of old stock! I can't complain, though. It's very tasty!

I'm stocking up on it as we speak. Still a great buy at £50
Reading House of Malt listing of F&F it was discontinued last year
Uhoh. I need to buy a few more then. Thank you!
