Thank you, Leslie. Great footage and I appreciate the provision of codes and timings for each service. 37s always make me smile, I have a soft spot for them 🙂
I see the HSTs and 37s that are based in Derby near where I live at the RTC area. I am about to create this Colas Rail / Network Rail HST set from a Hornby Virgin set.
A really nice mix today, Les. Nice to see the Avanti Pride return to video and loved the shot from the bridge or overpass of the crew with the 37. The snowplows were very cool, too!

Enjoyed that Leslie especially the shunting work by the 37 at Eastriggs, it also seems you are well known by some of the drivers as you got a wee toot and a wave from both the drivers of 1L83 @ 3.25 and 5Z16 @35.00 mins 👍.

@@holylochlad.4119 those are the Railhead treatment trains to pressure wash the hunch that builds up on the rails on some lines during October and November
One thing there should be no blocked lines around your area if we get a bad winter. It looks like they are checking them over with the axle box covers open on a few.
One might postulate the collective noun for ploughs; plethora, perhaps?🤔☺️ The movement of them must be an awkward driving experience for crews, sighting visibility being restricted as it would seem.
Hi, i always enjoy your videos, this may sound like a really stupid question, but how do the train crew know whats ahead of them? is there a camera on the front of the plough? Cheers!
@@jezrourke excellent question. From observation there are cutouts in the shape of the plough such that the loco driver gets a steam loco type view. Also a chap travels on the front plough if needed in a cabin but has to stand out to see forward. I think you see him doing this in the video.
Putting all your snow plows in one basket this time of year is asking for trouble particularly as they seem to have wheel bearing /brake issues. (covers to bearings/ brake shoes open on most plows.) The first (inspection) train of the day with two HSTs the first loco looked to be in RailAdventure livery with Colas name shield? A switch/take over of assets?
@@LeslieGilpinRailways It would certainly make sense for them to be being serviced -- it's not like we get a lot of snow in the UK in the first week of November.
Why have they bought all these new ploughs, when they have 56 stationed at various depots around the country and they have hardly been used. Even up here in Scotland they usually just put out a 37 with snow guards like the 37 has on it in this video.
Maybe we should get a train with " HETRO" painted on it. Why not. After all, all you pride people say all you want is to be equal. What could be more equal than that.💪
Hi Leslie. How nice to see HST 125's and 37s still working today. A testament to how well they were made in the first place :o)
