“The Silence of the Lambs'' is a psychological horror film directed by Jonathan Demme and written by Ted Tally. It was released on February 14, 1991, by Orion Pictures, and stars Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn, Ted Levine, Anthony Heald, Kasi Lemmons and more. The film was adapted from a novel of the same name by Thomas Harris, the second novel in his Hanibal Lector series. This was the second attempt to adapt one of the Hannibal Lector novels following 1986’s “Manhunter”, which made little impact. “The Silence of Lambs” however was a major success spawning 3 subsequent films - 2 of which also star Anthony Hopkins. The film grossed $272.7 million on an only $19 million dollar budget, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of 1991 worldwide. It also became the third and most recent film to win Academy Awards in all the major five categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay and is the only horror film to win Best Picture. In 2011, “The Silence of the Lambs” was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry and is regularly cited as one of the greatest and most influential films of all time.

Our first horror film for movie night & it had us the exact OPPOSITE of silent! 🫣😱 … What’d y’all think of this one? Did it deserve to sweep the Oscars? -- Let us know some of your favorite films and if you'd like to see us react to them!

Note for those watching! I am the one in the middle who was on the phone for part of the movie.
I am really sorry about that. I got an emergency text and email from my agent saying production on a project I had worked on needed some paperwork filled out ASAP! Those things can be very fast-paced and so I unfortunately couldn’t wait. If you watch any of the other reaction videos, you will see that that is not me! I even tried to fill out the forms while watching and commenting but watching it back now, I know it didn’t look great. I did enjoy the film (Tho these kind of films scare me! 😱).
Just wanted to say sorry and hopefully that scenario won’t happen again!

i've watched many reactions over the years. this is the first time i saw anyone buried in their phone, in a visually important film that also required attention. so much nonsensical chatter. so much for respectfully watching multi-award winning cinema.

I agree with you! This is definitely not a good representation of how I usually react to videos. I wish we had put in the video that I got an emergency email from my agent and needed to fill out paperwork for a production ASAP. So I unfortunately was pulled away. I know it doesn’t look good and I am apologetic about it. 🙈

It wasn't just you. It was the whole crew making a big joke out of a classic movie
I mean, talking over academy award winning performances of Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster!
Do you guys think that perhaps you could learn something? If not, why have a reaction channel???

    • @NatashaKong
      @NatashaKong 2 месяца назад +2

@@davidspellman2566thanks for sharing your thoughts! Definitely didn’t mean any disrespect by talking during the movie. This is how I genuinely “react” when I watch things. It’s my free flow of consciousness that comes from what I’m viewing on the screen. And we do this channel because there are different things we notice with perspectives as actors. I guess I didn’t think about watching to learn. It could definitely be a take on it. Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster gave amazing performances, but personally without hearing how they prepared for each scene, the character, their methods, the experience of working with the director and crew when they call action on set, that kind of intel, then it’s not as practical for learning and more about watching it to be inspired. :)

      I appreciate that.
Still, your crew missed many parts of the movie that was vital to the plot.
Again, I watch many reactors, including those who joke around with each other and who have a great time, but your group was way over the top, and I think that if you take an honest look at the comments on this review, you will see a lot of constructive criticism that have to do with much more than you looking down at your phone💗

    • @NatashaKong
      @NatashaKong 2 месяца назад +2

@@davidspellman2566 thanks! Yes, you are right, I think there is a lot we would redo for sure. If you are willing, we watch a lot of other things like The Bear, Bridgerton, other movies and more. I feel like they get much better reception, so I don’t feel like this was our best representation of how we usually do reaction videos 🙈

I suppose one is left only to hope they perform better as players than humans. As Aristotle commented “Dramatic ability is a natural gift, and can hardly be taught. " So no real hope.

Hello and good day actors. My name is Ishmael and I was once an actor too. Well, I love
    you kids but one thing
    you really need to do.
    You need TO SHOE MUCH
    MORE OF THE MOVIES
    YOU SHOW. The only
    thing that is lacking.
    Also you need to make
    the screen view much
    larger. Everyone else
shows more of the movies and show a
    larger screens. It get
    you a lot more views
    when one sees more
    than just a few seconds
    of the movies. It will
    really get you many more
    views for sure. Thanks
    and have a good day,
    good luck and may the
    good Lord bless.

Hi folks. A quick comment regards the description from the text of Manhunter making little impact. That is correct financially, but the film (which has 80's vibes) was directed by the legendary Michael Mann and starred another British great, the Scot Brian Cox as Lecter. He played Lecter more book accurate and his prison was more book accurate, as opposed to the dungeon. Cinematography and music is also superb too. It is well worth watching from all aspects of film-making.
Also, this film is not horror. It is actually a crime thriller that is horrifying. Thomas Harris resents this film being labelled as a horror film.

This movie is psychological. Meaning everything is potentially symbolic. These film watches are similar to dates. Requiring full, not segmented attention. I suggest a retake after checking out other "reactors." One of the better ones is Natalie Gold.

Size 14 was considered "big" in the 80s (which I agree it is), sadly since the average size of women has increased over time, these days size 14 is considered average, basically American women are getting bigger

Your faces take of 95% of the screen and we have to squint to see what your reacting to. Plus talking over each other and over the movie dialogue as well. It's like watching a headache start. I moved on, but best of luck here with your reactions.

@@ActorsWatchingActors all i am saying is you eat too much and you don't even respect the viewers (at least the general x and y population who loves movies, i don't even dare go before that) to hear a bit of the movie for the first time viewers.
that's annoying most of the times cause of your loud noises (either eating or shouting) you are not able to hear yourselves in the same couch and expect people to watch this. maybe that's because we are from a different generation. cause you obviously have your own crowd and i respect that. i am not sh*tting on you guys. i am a big reaction fan, i like people watch stuff just like most of your fans but this seemed odd to me. don't get me wrong. do your thing if it works for you, cheers.
edit: i changed the word "watchers" to "viewers", english is not my first language, my bad. still, sorry if my comment disturbed you. i wish i started with a more productive criticism. anyways, take care.
