One really important tip I would mention is that rewind has NO range limit, and can affect literally anything you can see. So many times of accidentally dropping a contraption off of an island has been saved for me by using it. It can also be used to find where drops rolled off to by making the trails visible.
Rewind can also be used on those rocks that fall out of the sky randomly to send them back up into the sky. Anytime you see one think elevator. This is a very useful thing to remember when you fight an ice gleeock.
I fully agree with that last tip. There's hundreds of videos showing 'Best Gear!', 'Early Rupee Farming!', '100 of the Best Weapons!', 'Here's Every Cave YOU Should Visit NOW!'...and it might feel like you're 'behind' or 'not playing the game efficiently enough'...but this game is new to all of us and we should take our time to fully enjoy the adventure. We didn't have full internet archives back in the SNES / N64 days telling us of every single secret within hours of a game's release, and some of the most exhilarating moments where those where we organically discovered the game's secrets on our own. This game will be relevant for years. Enjoy the ride!
100% I’ve only done ‼️*VERY MINOR SPOILERS*‼️ 1 of the races quest (Zora) and I see videos of people with the hylian shield, Champions Tunic, 100 damage weapons, etc.
For me I only look at that kind of stuff (minus the caves one) so I can not be as frustrated while exploring the game lol. Nothing is more annoying than early game exploration, running into strong enemies, and only having one tiny stick and no bow. I literally robbed 3 bokoblin camps and didn't acquire a single bow (I had run out because of their poo durability, I use bows a LOT). Plus I like to buy the outfits as early as I can, just for looks. The game is still really fun and all, but man I'm sick of running out of my good gear any time I want to run around and climb every cliff in sight lol.
Ikr, like sometimes i see random clips of the game and they have all this high level gear and it was only like the second day of being released, it’s like they’re eating a meal that took 5 hours to prepare in 30 seconds
Definitely. The only reason I'm comfortable watching now is because I have probably 30-40 hours in the game already and have seen many of the surprises the game has to offer. Not all, and there's plenty of secrets I know I haven't found, but I think I've figured out most that I will with the core mechanics by now.
@him I still haven't figured out how to start the Zora one. I managed the rito one. I thought the boss fight was a little too cake. I think once I have less weapons I'm gonna try the next one.
after you get enough energy capacity, it becomes irrelevant tho, you can build a machine with 4 parts (no spoilers) that you can travel anywhere in the world with no despawning and really good control!
Another one: Rock Octorocks (the ones on the goron mountain) can each repair one piece of equipment. Go up to one, drop the item, back away so they come back up and suck in your weapon. Which they will then spit at you instead of the exploding rock they normally shoot. This works once per Octorock, once per blood moon. So if you have a particularly precious weapon you want to keep, you can repair it. This could be, say, that OP sapphire staff you made, since you might not want to have to mine or buy sapphires to make new ones.
They don't just repair the weapon they give it a modifier too. If it had no modifier it will give it a random white modifier, and if it has a modifier it will give it a random yellow modifier
In fairness to brightbloom arrows, they have a much farther reach than throwing. And in particular when using the giant seeds that have a massive glow radius and aren't nearly as common as the smaller ones, you'd have to already be in pitch black territory to get full use out of throwing them. I have 200 arrows and 30 giant brightblooms, so I absolutely will be using arrows to use them more effectively.
A fusion tip: the forest dwellers spear allows you to reuse consumables attached to the spear ex puffshroom you can use this with the puff shroom to get infinite sneak attacks on enemies
I use the muddle bud on mine to confuse opponents with a single hit and wait for them to either kill each other or for the effect to wear off and I need to reapply it. it makes 90% of fights easier tbh
Something I discovered for underground exploration is that you can throw brightbloom seeds onto vehicles. So you can give your vehicles light without using battery power.
Ima be honest limcube I needed that last tip I did feel like I was missing out on more than just speedrunning and as soon as you said "You only get this casual experience once" I knew I needed to just enjoy this experience
Yeah! I thought this was a nice, mindful tip to include... the game is just so big, I think it can be so easy for a lot of people to feel like they have to do everything at once. What's the hurry? We've got another 20 years until the next installment, no need to rush.
The last tip is, in my opinion, the most important. Please, do not rush through the game or spoil yourself with videos, you will be sorry if you do. Explore Hyrule at your own pase as you can always later on watch all those videos and get those "important" items.
@@cian12 I mean, you do you. You don't really need autobuild or armor though, so it doesn't really relate to guides. Just explore the world, do (side)quests and you'll get plenty of gear.
@@sgt.nuclear You don't have to have such attitude, pal. Not everyone understands where the game is trying to direct you. I can't tell you how many times I've struggled playing this game because of its unclear instructions. And yeah, after looking it up, I'd think "how did I not think of this myself? it's so easy", but I didn't KNOW that until afterward. Even in BotW I struggled with some of the Divine Beast bosses because there are NO leading instructions whatsoever. They just tell you "yeah turn on all the terminals and defeat the boss!" but how in the fuck am I supposed to turn on all the terminals first if I have no clue where the final one is? How am I supposed to defeat the boss when they have an impenetrable shield? That's why some of us use guides for CERTAIN parts of the game. Nobody is saying "gee whiz this shrine sucks ass, I'm gonna look up a guide on how to do the final main quest!", we're just stuck in some areas or we need a little help so we look up a guide for those specific things. Everyone enjoys games differently, so stop acting like you're so much better for not looking up scary little guides.
@@nomoretwitterhandles where the fuck did this come from man? He literally just said you can beat the game without finding everything so just relax and explore. chill out
A fusion I found out about that has helped me get around a bit(and is just pretty cool), is fusing a mine cart to a shield. It turns shield surfing into skateboarding and let you get around on a shield longer and you can “grind” on individual mine cart rails.
I fused one very early on (it was one of my first fusions) and never knew about any of that... heck, I completely forgot about Shield Surfing and only learned it tens of hours into my playthrough during a random loading screen tip that that was a thing and now I feel silly never having tried that with the cart...
When I first played this game, I though fusing weapons was so bizarre, but then I realized all the insane things you can do with it, using common items. Such a genius mechanic to put in a Zelda game.
@@mementomori5580I forgot the button combo for it and tried it early on, got the button combo wrong and assumed it wasn't in the game until i accidentally did it much later
I fused a wing glider to a shield super early on in the game and was hoping it would let me glide in the air. It didn't notice anything so I dismissed it as a functionless fusion. I never noticed that I was able to shield jump higher with it! I'll be sure to fuse those more again.
I always used brightbloom arrows, and I'm surprised people keep running out of arrows. Crates and other breakable containers tend to give you 10 arrows each, and they're everywhere just waiting for a simple axe swing. Brightbloom arrows have significantly longer range, which is very helpful exploring the underground safely
I think the problem is arrows are used a lot more in this game compared to BOTW. In BOTW I never ran out of arrows. Starting this game I left the tutorial island with ~200 arrows but after a few hours of exploring the ground ran out. Its a lot more important in this game vs BOTW to actively buy and collect arrows every chance you get, and since that first time running out and being more active I havent ran out again.
I think that’s highly specific to the person and their play style. Hell I’ve seen people complaining about the lack of bright bloom seeds which I thought was insane than I remembered I really haven’t spent that much time in the depths comparatively. But someone else who spends a higher ratio in the depths could run out of both pretty easily
Thank you for the tips Lim! I appreciate you being cautious of the underground because I haven’t even done that yet. I try to get as many shrines and map-towers as I can before doing a lot of the story. The challenge of finding overpowered enemies and having weak weapons has been both fun and irritating so far. There’s so much to explore that BOTW feels like a prototype now. Keep up the wholesome & informative content bro, I’ll be here.
Dude, go explore the Depths. If you think getting thru the overwhelmed map without all your equipment is a challenge, the underground is even more so. Not only ate the enemies way higher level, but it's also totally and completely dark until you find each lightroot. A VERY fun challenge. I've lost hours just going from lightroot to lightroot dodging all the enenies in between
nintendo is doing what they’ve done for their past 2 video games with a big fan base (splatoon and acnh). They have a trend of half releasing games so you have to buy the dlc
Two fans and a control stick can be used to make a highly efficient vehicle in the form of either the hover bike (fans attached to controls in line), or the "goblin glider" (fans attached to the controls on the sides). It costs 9 ore and goes far further than the rocket-on-a-plank (you can also just keep re-using it once your battery recharges). It is well suited to exploring the ground and underground areas. The fans should be at an angle so that they push down and back. You may wish to build the initial vehicle in a flat area near wooden materials so that you can make use of them to be able to hold the build in air to make it easier to get the fans lined up. Then save it to your autobuild and you have a high speed vehicle that can both ascend and descend, and is very efficient battery-wise for a flying vehicle.
Air Bikes are very hard to build, You'll need to make them a specific way to make the fans lineup properly with out somekind of imbalance. Not sure about the golbin glider.
@@canadianbutt275 I use stakes to hold things in the air so I can line them up properly! Between stakes to control height and building against a wall to control left/rightness, it's fairly easy to get it almost good. My hoverbike build still does have a lean to the right, but it's very workable.
Shooting brightbloom seeds on an arrow can actually be quite beneficial sometimes for when I want to scout an area without getting close, especially when used with a bow that has long reach. You can also shoot them mid air. While I agree that you should primarily throw them, there's a time and place for shooting.
A neat Paraglider trick i found with Tulin's wind gust ability: When activating Tulin, a second after you activate it, keep pressing B and X (dismiss button and jump/paraglider button) with a bit of leeway in between each button press. You'll keep the momentum from Tulin's ability until it recharges and you can do it again. I found this out myself and it's proven super useful to me.
I thought that taking out the wing midair was the only way to do it. I freaking love riding those things though. It feels so free and somewhat reminds me of the just cause games. Initially I was worried going from botw to totk because I absolutely love blasting myself across the map in botw but this is so much more fun than that. Idk why but controlling the wing is incredibly satisfying. Also I love how easily you can get into the sky with the towers.
The best part about the midair wing strategy is that it was actually shown in one of the trailers! In fact, I thought the wing would be an ability that lets you summon it while airborne
About ascend in caves: One thing I noticed, but haven't exaustely confirmed; is that if you are in a cave and there is a tree root on the wall, go near it and you are guaranteed to have an "ascendable" spot. Be it to the cave's next floor, or just outside the mountain. It's pretty usefull if you just can't find that spot to ascend to in caves with uneven ceiling.
Going into bullet time with a wing shield is huge. I always struggle to nail the headshots on fast-moving targets, like lynels, but even hinoxes and a few certain large minibosses around the world too. Getting bullet time will make that so much easier. Yet another reason why I need more shield slots after having discovered bomb jumps some time ago and wanting to make good use of any bomb barrels I find lying around.
am i the only one who can't get bullet time when backflipping w/ a wing-fused shield? do i need to upgrade my stamina wheel more? or use a particular shield? or... just get good?
I use arrows for brightbloom seeds sometimes, but I've found that the best use case for it is if you're in a wide open underground area. If you're not sure how far away something is and you want to land the seed high up on a wall, then fusing it to an arrow is really useful. But probably the best way that I've seen to use brightbloom seeds is as headlights. The Zonai ones only have one beam and don't show much, but if you have a big brightbloom seed, you can just throw it at your vehicle and it gives bright light in every direction, while not using any of your battery. I love using it for my hoverboard segway, because when you're high up in the air you can't easily see the terrain with just one beam of light
I liked arrow brightblooms for the initial exploration of the deep. Sometimes you wouldn't know if a cliff was just really tall or an impassable wall. Getting a bright bloom high up would tell you more about the cliff and show you how to climb it as well.
One tip to Minimize mistake for the wing glider is while your glider is blinking green pull out another and attach it with ultra hand the first will disappear and the new one with the new time is able to keep going, this isn't required but it defiantly helps if your like me and suck at swapping mid-air
One of the techs will probably be a thing where you can drop, say, a piece of ore, shoot it with an arrow, attach a prepared bunch of logs to the item, then recall it so that it becomes a hammer that just slaps you across gaps.
I’d say it’s damn near optimized by now. It’s already like sub 45 min and they’re running out of abusable glitches. They already know that if you find your way to ganon nonlinearly and skip key spots he won’t load in at all. Nor can you leave the sky island early. It’s gonna take something huge
You can also create your own dynamic elevator using recall, ultrahand and ascend, when you lift something with ultrahand and lift it in the air, push it forward, whatever direction, when you put it back in front of you and use recall, it follows that trajectory, so if you ascend through it you can basically take yourself almost anywhere in a shrine without any other things in the shrine. Sounds more simple and “duh” when I write it, but the uses are very dynamic and speedrunning sensitive
I’ve definitely been abusing recall to the best of my ability, like putting a plant of wool on a long stick, holding it up high, bringing it back to me, recall it, grab on, FLY UP IN THE SKY. And I have cheesed a few shrines with Recall already. It’s such a powerful rune
Exactly! I used it in the Goron caves with the mine carts as well just put it on the tracks you need, haul it back and jump in with recall. Infinite possibilities.blown away by this game. Yesterday I fused a rocket to my shield to see if I could shield surf it, and it blasted me forward, can use it on the mine cart tracks as well, or even fuse a mine cart to your shield and use it as a skateboard, 💯
You don't really need to use Ascend to do this since you can basically just trace a path (in reverse) with Ultrahand, climb on top of it normally and then recall. It's not restricted to elevators either, since you can trace a horizontal path in order to cross gaps too. Recall is just overpowered as fuck.
I'm glad you included that last tip. I'm also 25-30% through the game I'm going to estimate, but I feel like I rushed the hell out of it and I kinda wanna take it back. I'm gonna be taking my time from here on.
Lol he says "don't shy away from teleporting to towers once you're just cleaning things up" and now i feel guilty for doing that for most of my early game travel lol
Watching this video was worth it for just the midair wing alone, but throwing seeds and ascending through caves to save climb time made this video super valuable. And I'm avoiding most videos about the game but I saw the midair wing in the thumbnail and I realized "Oh thank goodness, something that takes up an inventory slot actually being useful." I have no idea how to use wings without the rail system that throws it off a cliff, so finally having an open world use for them is beautiful.
Fully agree with taking your time on this pinnacle of a video game experience. I'm sure I'll spend at least a month before I beat it, probably more. My god the depth of this game is incredible. Thank you for this btw this is exactly what I was wanting to see but too afraid to search for and be spoiled too much lol
My personal recommendation, especially if you still have a lot left to find, you can ride around on the dragons. You can pick up some extra useful materials while on their backs, and the horn you can get (and pick up instantly right off of them if you're standing on their head) resets every 10 ingame hours. I had an absolute blast riding Farosh and Naydra around, even through underground sections as they will go through chasms on their paths. Keep an eye out for any shrines or certain noteworthy underground landmarks, mark them through the scope, and get some really powerful weapon fuses at the same time. Going up a chasm also feels kind of satisfying. They are quite slow tough, so you have plenty of time to admire the world around you. Less so if it's all pitch black underground, but eh.
That last tip was such an eye opener. When I first played BOTW, I read and watched some tutorials on the harder parts, but thinking about it now, the most memorable times I had with BOTW was the things I discovered myself. I promised myself I would not touch a single guide until I at least finished the main story, or feel satisfied to the point I can casually use it without getting spoiled either through story, lore or experience. Best thing I have ever done as discovering new things through exploring, experimentation and trial and error made the game feel more alive and satisfying to do than the reward for doing it through a guide.
That's great and all, but there's nothing wrong with getting help. Personally, I don't enjoy struggling with quests that don't point me in a specific direction. I like to explore, yeah, but only when I choose to do so. If I'm looking for something and simply CANNOT find it, I search it up. And that's totally fine! I also really enjoy the things I discover by myself, but like... I enjoy finding things that I wasn't looking for, if that makes sense. I like finding caves or cool areas on my own, I like to discover strong weapons on my own, but it is so goddamn annoying to be stuck in an area for a quest, only to have no clue what the fuck I'm doing. If that's something you enjoy, then that is awesome and I hope you have a blast playing this game! There is so much to explore and figure out, it really is fun.
@@nomoretwitterhandles Yeah that's me with some of the... less directed quests in the game. I'd rather google it and get back to actually exploring the world than be stuck here for hours on a single quest.
I think puffshrooms are equally powerful as the ice scepter. You can throw them into an active horde of enemies and they all lose track of you, then you can just walk up behind them to sneak strike over and over until the smoke disappears. It can save you a lot of durability on your weapons
I'm envisioning the designers spending hundreds of hours of design time to come up with ways to quickly navigate the world with the idea that they'll make an interesting and dynamic ecosystem in which to speed run, but all we're going to do is figure out how to drop a pot against a wall or something to exploit the physics engine and launch ourselves halfway across the map.
When I saw they fixed most of the glitches (whistle sprint, etc) I couldn't wait to see what people came up with. Nice job! I love the shield fuse options.
I know you said that last tip was mainly to reach 10 tips but I’m glad someone told me that. Friends are way ahead despite me getting the game first, I need to forget about that and take as much time as I want. I can only play this game blind once.
The last tip was the best. Thankyou for this video and trying not to spoil things. I spent twenty hours just to complete the first phenomena and it was so fun. Though I do get that feeling of missing out when I see people with all of their armour and weapons and shrines. I want to make sure I experience every little bit of this game as fast as possible but I would be better off just going my own way and enjoying this game for the first time.
It's nice to see that it's finally here. I remember when you first talked about this one, and can't wait to see your progress on this one. Thanks for keeping the spoilers low.
Maybe it was naïve of me but I didn't see the timers for the contraptions coming, and I was so disappointed when I realized that no amount of charge was going to actually increase the distance I could travel on them I didn't even think about dropping stuff midair, what with all the technical setup required to do that in BotW Good tip GOOD tip
@@ninjason57 Definitely. But the design of the game seemed to hold up pretty well to this until I realized certain areas actually needed story progression. I've found myself thinking a lot about where this was actually necessary. So far, a few obvious locations come to mind right. But the really important ones seem very few in number. I think a much better solution would have been some "no-fly" zones, where this effect is triggered to protect those elements of the game where they wanted to tell their story and get you to those locations in a more premeditated fashion. I can't help but compare it to BotW. They said here's the castle, do what you want. And I really appreciated that. But. Games still awesome so.
Remember Hino that talked about the blood moon, you showed us once in a Limcube + episode. Found him east of Zora’s domain, captured by bokoblins! Glad you showed us Hino in botw, really funny finding him again😊
God I love your attitude of "just enjoy your casual play through"! I merely admire speed running. In BOTW I would pick and choose from your techniques to adapt my game play to make it even more interesting on multiple replays. Thank you for not spoiling anything in Tears... even if I'm baffled on how you have so many hearts and stamina already in your footage !!! :)
better than autobuild rocket, take 6 springs, put them on top of each other into a tower, climb up and activate. you get some pretty great height. if you want to go far instead, build a ramp, attach the spring tower to it, put a plank at the end to stand on, activate the springs. it IS more expensive though (if you don't have the springs in your inventory)
For those going into the depths using the brightbloom seeds with an arrow can be advantageous at times. Some enemies(boss) will be attracted to the light making the short distance throws allow to automatically notify them of your position. But using bows you can send them on a wild goose chase making getting a sneak attack or easy combo start much much easier
I’ve definitely used arrows for the brightbloom seeds in situations like if I’m flying on a wing contraption and want to illuminate where I’m going. It definitely has its uses
@@skeletonwar4445 with the big ones you can’t really throw them (unless it’s off a cliff) without wasting some of the light by lighting up an already light area.
Man I knew there had to be a way to get on a wing in midair!I kept trying to do it other ways like dropping it off the edge and jumping on it. I just wasn’t good enough to figure it out. That’s super awesome.
For arrows in the underground... They are useful when falling in blind, you don't want a forced gloom landing in a chasm that has no light roots visible, and pressing R to throw while landing is suicidal, also good for tagging tall skinny structures.
I've really tried to avoid huge story spoilers before my game gets to me (somehow it got delayed, and even my AOC copy arrived earlier even tho I ordered it later) so these types of videos are the best content for me:)
I'm loving the boomerang with a tail fusion, it's also great cc. And puffshrooms with a powered up eightfold for sneak crits to deal with silver enemies.
I was using arrows to toss seeds downstairs and realized I had blown through like 50-60 arrows. For some reason my brain decided I couldn't throw while on my skeleton horse. Anyway, I fixed that mistake. Seeds are for more abundant than arrows, and like you said, absolutely no reason to fire arrows. Personally, once I started treating chasms like the overworld, it became a lot simpler to travel. Because, you know, it basically is just the overworld. It's only scary because it's dark and glowing red.
I really felt that tip about brightbloom seeds. Didn't start throwing them until I was desperate and out of arrows, then it was just like... nearly the exact same result as if I'd shot one attached to an arrow. Had a real moment there. Anyway, I do think there's potentially one use for shooting them anyway: you get bullet-time when using a bow, allowing you to (wastefully) light a wide area by shooting in multiple directions during your descent to figure out what's around you.
The arrows with Bright seeds is much more effective. You can shoot much further and see much more ahead of you. You can also reach ceilings you can’t by throwing them. Arrows are also and much more abundance in this game so you’ll have a lot of errors as long as you destroy boxes barrels and pick up the ones that you are already shot.
Limcube, Always love your content and your commentary. Thanks. Love tip #10 btw. The original creator of The Legend of Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, said that his original inspiration for the game was his memories of running around in the mountains and woods of Japan as a child. Definitely worth taking the time to relive and remember the joy that I am sure we all had the first time we played one of the Legend of Zelda games.
One tip you skipped is: don't forget you have your various skills. I wasted like 30 minutes in an area trying to figure out how to get a door to open. Then I remembered I had ultrahand and just...opened it. Like a normal door. Nearly had an out of body experience. There's supposed to be a series of switches and spatial puzzles to get doors open, isn't there? But no. Link has a hand now, and he can sometimes use it.
Me at the outer castle gate during the first little bit that the story quests tell you to do on the surface. Saw no way to open it and considered it effectively just scenery. Effectively just a wall. Went over it with some climbing / ascending and carefully choosing how to get back down on the other side... And then realized at some point after I reached the other side of it (I forget if this was right away or when returning after speaking to Hoz) that I just could've opened it with ultrahand.
It's so weird to me that people are panicking about spoilers. The JOY of this game is talking about all the weird stuff you can do. When I hear or see something I didn't know I could do, I get super excited to try it, not upset I know it exists.
@@AskaRayI mean I do kind of get it but I feel like this concept of spoilers is new and being blown out of proportion. They were always something in my lifetime but I swear no one used to talk about them like this. So I’ve seen like loads of creators say they won’t include big spoilers but kinda obviously no one else is saying them. So a little unnecessary to bring up this often but I can see how it might make someone feel safer about watching the vid. Oh god it’s practically a trigger warning 😂
I absolutely LOVE Saphire Rods. It's basically a beefed up fusion of Ruby and Topaz Rods, cc and damage up in one. An alternative that I also bring with me would be a boomerang that has a Frost Emmiter Zonai device.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I SEEN THE LIGHT DRAGON AND I WENT TO A TOWER AND I WAS SO CLOSE BUT THEN I REMEBERED YOUR VIDEO ON MID AIR WING AND I FUZED A ROCKET TO MY SHEILD AND USED THE MID AIR WING TO GET TO THE MASTER SWORD TYSM
Lim, thank you for keeping this so spoiler free and even going as far as not showing the depths, or certain weapons. I also appreciate you wanting to enjoy the game slowly. You're right, you only get to explore it casually once! So personally I didn't know about the bomb shield. Gonna try that. My personal favorite is Spear + Zonai Cannon = Musket. It launches bombs with each poke! So fast! Great for mining big ore deposits and for fighting off a certain scary enemy where you have to kill multiple targets at once.
#1: You can use Time Bombs to Bomb Jump as well. For when you REALLY want them to detonate instantly. Also, depending on RNG, they might be easier to get. #2-3: Can you Autobuild on the back of a Wing? Chaining Wind Bombs and Midair Wings would be awesome if it works.
ur crazy good. just starting the game and you are already creating new strategy. i did try the gliding technique and got it sometimes. however, i found a technique that makes it easier to grab onto the glider. hold D pad up to open the glider option while keeping the same left thumb pushing up on the controller. then on the right hand, press X and R twice at the same time. i find this method works better for me because i am not quick with the controller. oh and please keep producing these strategy videos. they are fun.
Throwing is good for lighting up your immediate path, but especially with the big bright bloom seeds using arrows to light up an area in the distance is especially useful. Sure it's using an arrow, but they cost 6-10 rupees so it's not a huge loss overall. Especially since you can just warp around and buy out beedles and shops when you're running low.
i mean who the fuck thinks you shouldn't waste arrows?, duplication glitch exists, just go dupe a bunch of diamonds, sell them and then buy out all the stocks of arrows on sale, I can't believe this guy is even making it as an issue, also giant bright blooms seed exists and using throw on it is the actual waste, it's the one thing you want fused to an arrow to efficiently and maximize it's effect
Fell for the trap, down to 50 arrows. I found the water buff thing out yesterday. Definitely will be utilizing it. I never forget my ascend rune. It’s probably my favorite. Thanks for the good tips.
Lim, starting to watch your playthru and this video. Great stuff. Can't believe it is almost like the developers in a way gave us "legal" ways to do some of the glitches we use in BOTW. So cool! I hadn't thought of doing most of this, but enjoyed watching in your playthru you figuring this stuff out!
Something I found out that is useful for early game. If you have a decent weapon that has the effect of doubling attack when Link is wet, you can fuse an opal to it and it will always be considered wet. That does also mean it will shoot out water balls, but it was incredibly useful in a certain sludgy place.
My favourite is having a boomerang with an ice lizal horn and one with an electric horn and throwing them into crowds in quick succession (ice first) for instant electric AOEs. If you have the big ones you can actually mow through groups of enemies from afar with ease
If you want to select ultrahand or recall without using them, jump before you select them. It will change to the power you want without stopping you in place. Also, you can hold stuff up with ultrahand, recall it to make it raise into the air again, and basically pass heavy items to yourself this way by grabbing the recalled item before it falls again with ultrahand.
thank you for the video! i was surprised to see some of the things i already do mentioned here, made me feel smart LOL spears feel so great in this game! i’m usually a onehanded sword type of player, but the quick charge spears feel amazing to use
Tip: When diving down new chasms for the first time, you can quick select Brightbloom seeds and airdrop them to see where the bottom is. They fall faster than Link does, and the impact from the height will sprout the seeds.
I highly recommend getting the glide boost armour set, once you get it to level 2 you become immune to all fall damage. You can shield surf across the gloomy red stuff. My favourite 'tip' (pun intended) on tough bosses use the 2x or 3x bows and 'fuse' arrow heads on it'll act as 3 bombs for example but only use 1 item and 1 arrow. Great for clearing out boulders underground. Fusing a sled to your shield for surfing on sand and snow gives you a lot more control. Use the wheel's platform for land surfing! Instead of attacking tech to activate it or shooting an arrow you can throw an apple or other item at it so you don't waste your durability. Don't forget to use reverse time skill on projectiles! There's also rocks that fall from the sky you can use as a boost to get up. If you're really stuck you can use the hand ability to hold an item and move it around like a platform then use the reverse time skill and jump on the newly made platform.
im pretty sure the main usage for arrow brightblooms would be when you're facing a large dark area, maybe you're gliding above it, and you dont have any reference points at all. shooting the arrow super far out could give you a nice anchor point to let your navigate
The one advantage to using arrows to do the brightblooms is that you can get them MUCH higher up, and they can light up a larger area from higher up as far as I've seen
My favorite trick so far has been to levitate platforms/objects into the air in shrines with Ultrahand, then drop them down and Recall to create an elevator as a shortcut to skip areas in shrines. While not always the case, for some shrines and areas, this can often be faster than the intended mechanism. This can also be used in shrines/overworld in combination with Ascend to make an elevator that puts yourself in range of a ceiling for ascending.
One tip for the midair wing, you can use Recall on the new glider as soon as you land on it basically indefinitely to build fans/batteries/rockets etc. without having to deal with the glider flying away! Just have to remember to rewind again before time runs out.
One really important tip I would mention is that rewind has NO range limit, and can affect literally anything you can see. So many times of accidentally dropping a contraption off of an island has been saved for me by using it.
It can also be used to find where drops rolled off to by making the trails visible.
It's also how you can sometimes get free "towers" whenever you encounter a fallen piece of a sky island.
Stand on top of it and recall it, up we go!
Actually, it has a range, but it's incredible big, like, 1.5 Mountain range, another tip is that you can refuel the zonai devices battery with it
@@LuisFelipe-pq9lr
You can *WHAT*
Rewind can also be used on those rocks that fall out of the sky randomly to send them back up into the sky. Anytime you see one think elevator. This is a very useful thing to remember when you fight an ice gleeock.

I fully agree with that last tip.

I don’t know why but I’ve never thought to just drop the item, I’ve been trying to time throws like an idiot.
They also add modifiers to your weapons too
I believe it does not work with staves. I tried and the octorock spit it back without repairing it.

Same
Tony Wonder: Same!
I was so disappointed when I did that. But the free bullet time is game changing
Same, I kept running out of arrows early on. Now I smash every crate I see and rarely run out of arrows.
There's no need to even waste durability on breaking the boxes, just pick them up and drop them with ultrahand
The Sapphire Rod is how I’m basically doing the underground. Haha. It gives you sooooo much control over the camp! Great tip!
Thank you for being so careful with spoilers, and encouraging people to take things slow and enjoy their first casual playthrough
Thank you for the tips Lim! I appreciate you being cautious of the underground because I haven’t even done that yet. I try to get as many shrines and map-towers as I can before doing a lot of the story. The challenge of finding overpowered enemies and having weak weapons has been both fun and irritating so far. That’s dumb.
Dude, go explore the Depths. If you think getting thru the overwhelmed map without all your equipment is a challenge, the underground is even more so. nintendo is doing what they’ve done for their past 2 video games with a big fan base (splatoon and acnh).
@@canadianbutt275 It can take some finaggling to get right. Fortunately, you only need to do it once.
@@canadianbutt275 I use stakes to hold things in the air so I can line them up properly! Between stakes to control height and building against a wall to control left/rightness, it's fairly easy to get it almost good.

Not only are your tips good but I really appreciate you avoiding spoilers/caring about the experience of your audience. Earned a sub from me!
Shooting brightbloom seeds on an arrow can actually be quite beneficial sometimes for when I want to scout an area without getting close, especially when used with a bow that has long reach. You can also shoot them mid air. While I agree that you should primarily throw them, there's a time and place for shooting.
As the wing times out add another to the nose of the first , walk on to the new one as the old one vanishes

I thought it was just gonna be something that flies around the map on a cycle. This is 100% better

Didn't know that, is a good sign that it probably won't be patched out. Gotta learn that trick
About ascend in caves:
One thing I noticed, but haven't exaustely confirmed; is that if you are in a cave and there is a tree root on the wall, go near it and you are guaranteed to have an "ascendable" spot.

You can also fuse a mine cart to your shield which allows you to shield surf anywhere even rough terrain. Great tips! I loved this video!
There’s also sleds that work better in snowy terrain and carts for flat terrains
Yo thats brilliant
I liked arrow brightblooms for the initial exploration of the deep. Sometimes you wouldn't know if a cliff was just really tall or an impassable wall. Getting a bright bloom high up would tell you more about the cliff and show you how to climb it as well.
One tip to Minimize mistake for the wing glider is while your glider is blinking green pull out another and attach it with ultra hand the first will disappear and the new one with the new time is able to keep going, this isn't required but it defiantly helps if your like me and suck at swapping mid-air
speedrunning this game is going to be insane. I cant wait to see what the routes are like in a few months, even years from now.
One of the techs will probably be a thing where you can drop, say, a piece of ore, shoot it with an arrow, attach a prepared bunch of logs to the item, then recall it so that it becomes a hammer that just slaps you across gaps.
ruclips.net/video/yepBKhuqBH4/видео.html
Just as an addition, the bomb thing can also be done with Timebombs and TNT barrels.
There is also the trick with using ultrahand and recall to launch without th rails, in case you didn't know that one.
@@JoHouse533 I hadn't considered that either, but to be fair, when I was first trying it out all I had access to was Ultrahand and Ascend.
Less so if it's all pitch black underground, but eh.
thank you for that tipp, i did not know you can ride them now without getting knocked off :D

I discovered the wing landing myself last night and played around with it for a good hour haha so much fun.
Made me feel genius
I've been playing this game for about 25 hours and just learned you can summon the quick menu while holding the throw button... Great vid!

Bro you did a great job not spoiling anything with these tips, well done.
When I made the springboard and rocket shields I was so caught off guard it’s so smart

It makes sense though because if the wings lasted forever you could just traverse the entire map and skip the whole game.

Tip #10 is gold, totally agree. Enjoy the journey!
better than autobuild rocket, take 6 springs, put them on top of each other into a tower, climb up and activate. you get some pretty great height.
if you want to go far instead, build a ramp, attach the spring tower to it, put a plank at the end to stand on, activate the springs.
it IS more expensive though (if you don't have the springs in your inventory)

Interesting to hear you talk up spears. I have found myself using them a lot more than I ever did in BotW, without consciously realizing why
They stunkock so many enemies. You can just keep hitting them with no danger
Awesome video! These tips were wonderful and I'll be using that midair wing and the shield wing a lot in the future
Yeah, ascend is really nice. You can easily cheese a lot of shrines by making platforms above you and ascending underneath them.
But bright seeds are even more abundant, I think we can afford to waste some.
Limcube,
Always love your content and your commentary.
10th tip is best tip! I needed to hear that lol! Glad I found your channel!
It's so weird to me that people are panicking about spoilers. The JOY of this game is talking about all the weird stuff you can do. When I hear or see something I didn't know I could do, I get super excited to try it, not upset I know it exists.
Those things aren't really spoilers, it's more about the story and special locations that could be spoiled...
That wing shield + standing jump slowmo looks so dope! Gotta try that!
Ive been using 2 hawk gliders for so long. Fun to just jump onto the second after first expires.
ur crazy good. just starting the game and you are already creating new strategy. i did try the gliding technique and got it sometimes. however, i found a technique that makes it easier to grab onto the glider. hold D pad up to open the glider option while keeping the same left thumb pushing up on the controller. then on the right hand, press X and R twice at the same time. i find this method works better for me because i am not quick with the controller. oh and please keep producing these strategy videos. they are fun.
@@rei1556 not everybody is going to go out of their way to use duplication glitches
ty for the well presented information!
I love that you avoided spoilers as much as possible!
the midair wing is insane!!!!!!
have a nice day, Sir!
Also, you can hold stuff up with ultrahand, recall it to make it raise into the air again, and basically pass heavy items to yourself this way by grabbing the recalled item before it falls again with ultrahand.
thank you for the video! i was surprised to see some of the things i already do mentioned here, made me feel smart LOL
spears feel so great in this game! i’m usually a onehanded sword type of player, but the quick charge spears feel amazing to use
Tip #10 is honestly the best out of all of your tips! Amazing video!
Tip: When diving down new chasms for the first time, you can quick select Brightbloom seeds and airdrop them to see where the bottom is. They fall faster than Link does, and the impact from the height will sprout the seeds.
This video is so useful and well explained! Thank you for also being considerate about spoilers!
Great tips! Especially love the trick ascending up through a mountain from a cave. 👍👍
Dude thank you so much i tried to do the midair wing so many times and i began to think it wasnt possible but now i finally got it
If you're struggling with the Gerudo Desert temple fight i HIGHLY recommend the saphire rod it makes a certain part so easy
Also, having a ruby or sapphire rod equipped lets you deal with extreme heat or extreme cold, since they change the temperature a bit.
The one advantage to using arrows to do the brightblooms is that you can get them MUCH higher up, and they can light up a larger area from higher up as far as I've seen
I completely respect the amount of dedication you have to not spilling anything.
