- It’s time to ramp up the excitement from Snetterton this afternoon as the first block of races headline the British Automobile Racing Club’s Saturday at the Norfolk venue.
Following a pulsating set of qualifying sessions throughout the morning, the battle for supremacy will undoubtedly heat up. Headlining the afternoon’s billing will be two one-hour races from the Britcar Endurance Championship.
Home to mouthwatering machines from Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Porsche and more, the series also boasts a bumper entry list with drivers such as RUclips star Jimmy Broadbent, Jem Hepworth, Charlie Martin and Abbie Eaton, amongst many more, all set to go wheel-to-wheel.
There will also be high-octane thrills from the Mini Miglia Championship. Notable names to keep an eye on include former BTCC champion Andrew Jordan, Nick Padmore and Aaron Smith.
In addition to the racing there will also be qualifying sessions from the Mini 7 Racing Club’s Se7en class and the British Superkarts Racing Club.

and people say iRacing is not like real life... Thats iRacing worthy if you ask me. Such a bad mistake and easily avoidable accident.

@@MrKelenek I mean, in the chaos of this cramped pitlane this kind of mistake can happen. Communication error, not noticing the VW, the circumstances were perfect for an incident like this to happen.

Good race 2 except for the pit lane crash. Hopefully they learn from this and when under safety car pit a couple of classes at a time instead of the whole field if the pit lane can't accommodate everyone. Very fortunate that no one was hurt.
Overall though I like the series.
Nice race for Jimmy. Up to 5th in class from last because of some problem.
EDIT: I just realise he narrowly avoided that pit lane crash. The moment he left, other Praga was pushed in his place.

how did broadbent come out of pits first and still be a lap down?
There were a LOT of very lucky people in the pitlane today during the Britcar race. Those scenes must NEVER be allowed to happen again. All caused by the safety car coinciding with the opening of the pit stop window. Surely with such a tight space the pitlane must stay closed during a safety car period, so teams must pit under green only?
It was scary. It was so tight in there with so many bodies packed in with no where to go. Thank goodness everyone came out of it ok
I was very surprised they were all allowed to pile into the pit lane to the point of stopping 2 wide, it was asking for an incident. How no one got hurt in that was nothing more than pure luck.

Chaotic 2nd Britcar endurance race. First the safety car picks up the wrong car, not the leader but some far back in the field, and then the drama in the pits. Real lucky if nobody got hurt there. And the safety car chaos continues after the pit stops.

In F1 the driver doesn't have to shoulder check to get into the lane since there are two people in the pit team that press a button for safe releases, they have a designated pit for each team, and they only pit when they need to for tires and fuel not to change drivers within a pit window so a safety car won't do the same thing

It looks as though Praga 29 was reversing in the pit lane just before the incident. Whilst there were 2 crew behind, only one had a single hand in front of the wing...
I can confirm it was not reversing.
Did anyone get hurt during that pit lane collision?
Luckily no - there was confirmation maybe 1/2 hour after it happened in the commentary :)

@@philiphomburger occasionally someone will and its awesome. I dont have the time either. Currently working and listening. I wish more of the race orgs themselves would break it down but they want the full video watched which is understandable.

So, it took one and a half event for Jimmer to already surpass Jem...
He's just happy to receive this chance for now, but given his competitive drive, he'll probably move on to better teammates that won't hold him back.
