Just to be clear....The engine hours recommended by Radical (40 hours for SR3) are NOT 'track time' as you quote... they are 'total time' with the ignition on... and included all the time warming the engine, etc. Depending on how you use the car, this can add up to quite a bit! For my car, used in short sprint racing, it amounts to about 40% 'off load running' and 60% 'load' (the equivalent to your 'track time' comment)
Interesting, that’s a very good point and presumably varies massively on your usage. I’m amazing it’s quite so high but I guess if the car is cold and you need to run flat out straight away it takes quite a bit of warming up. I wonder if the 40 hours includes that or you could get an extra say 20%. My car has only had one engine rebuild and that was ahead of time to upgrade to latest spec.
One of the reasons an oil pre-heater is a good investment as you can reduce the engine-on time to get oil to operating temps. IMO if the car is properly maintained under load is more representative of required rebuild intervals - but this won’t help under a factory warranty claim!
Based on how many hours of the engine time you get before having to rebuild the engine let’s me know how expensive a Radicals is in financial upkeep. The maintenance on a Radical is wildly expensive
I don't believe it has traction control. The TPS selector is throttle position and adjusts the amount of throttle and sensitivity. Looks like great fun!
Much as I like the sr10, I’d have a ‘slower’ sr8 over it all day long. Have you driven an 8? My dream radical would be a titanium space framed, full carbon fibre sr3xx bodied sr8 with sr10 side pods, the 3.0l engine and noisy pipes. Mmmmm 😊 Nice video review btw - thanks for sharing
I only drove the Revolution for about 15-20 mins so didn’t get much. It was/ setup/felt much stiffer but the main thing was it felt a bit heavier and the steering was tricky (it has assisted steering) to get used to
My best guess is this SR10 would be about 12-15s a lap quicker than the latest Atom 4 350bhp around here (Snetterton). My quickest time around there is a 2.04 on semi-slick tyres in Atom 4 but this would eat it alive. Look how quick he took Brundle (after bridge) and Nelson, if you tried to do this in an Atom or Mono etc you'd end up in the armco no doubt
Definitly yes the mono is for average track users where this is for hardcore enthusiasts. Saw the mono compete with the sr3 and soon as there was a turn the mono had to break harder whereas the sr3 used the downforce to just carve corners. Just search on youtube radical vs mono and ull see
That SR10 made that Audi R8 look like a Toyota Camry going around the track. Incredible.
Haha, absolutely
You do realize that they are totally and completely different....
@@ThePerpetualStudent obviously. Doesn’t make it any less amazing.
@@iZephiroth If it was obvious, why is it incredible? Just saying.

I'am a newbie and english is second language does that mean after 40 hours I need a new engine?
@@MichaTheLightno I think it means that you have to do a full engine service
It means the engine needs to come out, been taken apart and checked and any worn parts replaced.
What’s a good track day to get into a radical or atom or something similar ?
I’m here after buying it on iRacing. I like this car. A little hard to drive but really fun.
What a machine. Just wow
Radical definitely benefit in marketing terms from your involvement since you’re a genuine enthusiast.

You are correct, I was given duff information (or overly simplified). 1-4 are power reductions, 5-8 are less/more aggressive maps

Oh interesting, I’ve not driven an 8, they sound so good. You’ve put some serious thought into that, i 100% rate your decision ✅
Amazing, but why no windshield..?
It has a tiny plexi one that flicks some air over your head. Weight saving I guess
You put music over the pov? Dude, you're fired.
I didn’t realize the radical is a real car, I thought it was just an iRacing thing
haha, they are very real
Hahaha.......iRacing only scans real cars.
You gon learn today 🧐
How did you find the SR10 compare to the Revolution you drove?
I only drove the Revolution for about 15-20 mins so didn’t get much. It was/ setup/felt much stiffer but the main thing was it felt a bit heavier and the steering was tricky (it has assisted steering) to get used to
How much does it cost to race an sr3 for 1 season...including fuel tires and maintenance, track and club fees?
From another video I saw, around £150k
Any chance of a street legal version like the rxc spyder
There is the Rapture which isn’t far off
@@sammooresphoto ive discovered something even better, faster and cheaper than a radical which is a superkart. Im sure you've heard of them.
@@HairFollicle absolutely mental things!
How much power does that corvette have.... 😳
That is exactly what i wanted to find out afterwards! Sadly it had packed up and gone by the time I went for a wander.
One of these over a senna ect anyday!
@@robbiehutchin679 no question, this every day of the week!
Atom 3.5r 636bhp per tonne , atom v8 900bhp per tonne. I saw you drove an atom a week ago so how does this compare
Atom punches so hard but this would skin one on a track. I didn’t get a drive unfortunately, just a ride along.

Would you take this over a BAC mono?
Me, yes. You can race it and take mates out and it would muller a mono around a track
@@sammooresphoto Gosh it looked quick but I didn’t think it’d be *that* quick
Faster than a GT3 Racecar

Nice save!
Thanks, for a nano second I thought I was a going off big style
Please don't add music to the onboard view.
Yes, yes it will eat pretty much any Hyper Car for breakfast. Absolutely.
Try to eat the valkyrie for breakfast with your go kart😂
Nice 😀
Radicals are insanely twitchy....
It fucking better be when it’s a $160k track kart.
.....for buy this shit , it so much good a F3
This car is a serious deal for even a hypercar to deal with.....supercar? Well , better not to come close to this tiny Monster
nothing special 500hp and 600kg...ofc it will be fast ---_________---
