Wow, I had a ride in that car during Top Marques Monaco, and it completely blew my mind, especially the violence of the acceleration! Never been in a P1 but I'm happy it beat it :D Radical are awesome!
+NyseriA Yeah but you would buy an F12 or a Porsche to do that. If you want to spank some posers; this, a Caterham or an Ariel or even a Porsche RSR is the way to go.
I love the P1 but I'm kinda excited the underdog won here. Especially since it's a more simple, traditional design. Great video! And Evo, keep showing us the unpopular cars we don't hear about everyday. I love to see them.
@@nodo7575The ultima is about 200KG lighter and several hundred horsepower up. It would be a slaughter. There's a reason why the Ultima owns so many track record fastest laps all over the world. It's just unmatched around a circuit by anything shy of a million quid, and even then...
Jethro, you nailed it, straight to the point, no messing around, fo fuss, no superfluous comments or irrelevance. Brilliant. More please. Let's see it do a grand tour of the UK, reviewing its on road performance, stopping at each track to set a lap record for a road legal car as it goes. Leaving guantlets behind for the giants to pick up, if they dare! All before it obliterates the Ring Record. This is one of the most misunderstood and underestimated cars on the road, and it just keeps getting better.
+evo I wish you guys had the ability to show telemetry so we could better see where and how certain cars are able to achieve their lap time. I know their not cheap so I understand why just saying it would make these time attacks better.
+Stig Msr The Radical has a dash with comprehensive data logging. Also their lap timer on the right hand side should be recording all of the useful data for all of the cars. My $399 AIM Solo lap timer and simple Android phone with the $6 Torque Pro APP via OBDII has just about every parameter you could want to datalog (for a non professional racer).
+Stig Msr Yea, I understand not every car has a digital dash like the radical. Just wanted to let you know there where cheap options for people like us(assuming you're not a pro driver with a race team). If you look on the right hand side of the dash, they're using a Racelogic V-box for lap timing, which I've seen in other cars they've tested.
Yeah that's what I noticed and sparked the idea that it'd be nice if they implemented it on all the cars for this kind of test if they shared the and overlapped the data to its closest rival. It's a lot of work but it would also educate people more with data visuals.
+Stig Msr There are a lot of other lap timers, cheaper than the Racelogic that interface with the OBDII and a camera to automatically overlay data into the video and make editing easy. You're right though, Racelogic may be a real pain to edit the video with the data overlayed. And I like seeing the G-force, Speed and track layout in the videos. I've even used my phone to overlay the data like this, so with today's technology it's pretty simple with the right hardware.
When I was trying the Radical SR1 and SR3 at Silverstone I was lucky to get a few passenger laps in an RXC. I’ve done loads of motorbike track days and whilst the other cars had very impressive cornering and braking, this had the more bike like acceleration as well. The brakes were of the hit a brick wall variety and the cornering performance was v v impressive as well. I won’t forget that day in a hurry and I would really like to get a radical track car when funds allow.
just received mine here in the states. They have a Southwestern division for the U.S. just outside Houston.Ian and Simon treated me wonderfully. not because I was buying a car but because they genuinely respect their clients. I did get some option such as the $5,500 Air Conditioning option. tuned exhaust $2200 heated windshield. $5000 4 point Indy/Le Man style in car jack system for quick work.in and out-DONE.Went with some extra sound deadener for the radio option which its already sitting in the custom stereo shop, fitting in speakers everywhere possible with a 4000watt set up. Suede seat upgrade,Alcantera steering wheel upgrade for grip. Full carpet. We just had a track day at Cota And luckily the car showed up the week before COTA and I didnt have to trailer it or have it flown back down from Denver. Its 100% street legal but ypu want to keep the moles off amd enjoy them in the Colorado mountains, especially running it up Independence pass practicing for PPIHC.Pikes Peaks Inter.Hill Climb that coming up super fast. Don Hoffman won it in his division in 14 on his first time to race the Peak. The car is AMAZING and 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds is no joke and as u see its faster than the McLaren P1 which means its faster to its 200mph speed limiter than the Veyron BY FAR. ...i was going to run my 1966 registered FULLY STREETLEGAL MKII GT40 that is made from the exact same tooling and parts.95% of ALL parts are interchangeable with the original GT40 Le Man car except it has AC AND A RADIO i went with right-hand drive and right hand shifter...Not left with right shifter. I set it up like Carroll Shelby and not Dan Gurney.the RXC IS AN amazing car and is a true race car thats somehow street legal.no ABS,No traction control,no suspension on the fly adjustments.its a perfect race cars. no damn stupid air bags that are all tossed away from real racers cars. not any air for passenger either. Perfect. Cost a bit over $200,000 and the GT4O MKII cost me $169,000 out the door.it comes with your own original registry number from 1966 since its built withbthe same tools and parts..The RXC come with a registration number but for 2016. the Sunderland GT40 is legitimately a 1966 GT40 WITHOUTBTHE $8 plus million dollar price tag so ypu can truly drivevtgecshit out of it!. parts are plenty and the car is new and completely reliable. i just drove it last month from Denver to Las Vegas...its bullet proof. then with Radical. you have the same reliability and and company that will not leave you stranded IF it broke down and thats something I dont see happening..either car is a excellent choice!!. i was just fortunate to get both and if I didnt have a small exotic car dealership/repair shop I wouldnt haveveither. im very gratefull and blessed to have the cars I do. if you want to see my dealership/shop,simply email me and ill send it to u. im only 40 and single with no kids and a super cool chick who party's and digs racing as much as me..wecareca fun dealer/repair shop thats fully recognized by the Holy Trinity of auto repair. im not some 65 yr old up tight guy who is scared if u get to close.im 40 going on 25! ill take u for a ride if i have time! hit me up.
+Colin Brown ...sounds like you're enjoying your RXC. Me too, I have had my RXC 500 here in the UK for 1 year now, absolutely mind blowing. Until you drive one, and properly, it is impossible to understand or apreciate its broad range of capabilities. It hooks deep into every single sensory receptor the body has, completely immersive, raw and undiluted driving experience without electronic driver aids, and yet it is usable on the road too, with its 3 radica settings, especially with the suspension lifter, which is far easier to use than McLaren’s set up! Speed bumps, multi story/underground car parks, not a problem. I regularly drive it into London's West End when I have meetings. I'll be driving across to the Nurburgring first week in June for the Gran Turismo 2 day fest! Radical's customer service in Europe is superb, it is as though you become part of their racing team, not just a customer. The track side/pit support you can get is amazing. Road going technical support 24/7. This is a technically advanced racing car, being able to download the AIM data and adjust the mapping suite on the fly, remotely, wherever you have a mobile(cell phone) signal, is really useful.
+Dan DeHellenbaque Sorry for such a delayed response mate. When I posted that I was sitting in an Airport terminal and after I had a read at what I wrote,im embarrassed! I was trying to explain how great the RXC 500 is, along with speaking about my Superformance ROUSH built all aluminum SB 427 & Quaife ZF transaxle. and I not only sounded bloody stupid but the car got jumbled together and the description line was VERY blurred!! My comment left no justice for either car!!! Both are INCREDIBLE but VERY different. The GT40 MKII is just that. A 7.0 liter beast. As I tried to share, its NOT. a kit car but rather a TRUE continuation car that is NOT made of fiberglass. It is made as the original 66 and for example the chassis is exact down to the pressed metal roof with a spider like legs under the skin which are for bracing but of course a few things ARE changed which add safety such as the 6 pot Ultra Light Willwood Brakes,H&R Bilstein Coilovers,Adjustable pedal box,Cross flow radiator,AC of course but the compressor unit is cleverly disguised as part of the DRY SUMP which is very cool but hell. I LOVE pulling up next to a U.S. sports car such as a Z06 on a 105f day cool and comfy as my Velocity stacked ROUSH fuel injected V8s Cam is thumpity thumpity thumping through the TRUE "BUNDLE OF SNAKES happily as I sit in my right hand seat with my #5 3rd place 66 LeMans Hutcherson/Bucknum Gold& Fiesta Red livery MKII with 13 inch wide rims and 14.5 inch Goodyear Billboards on the true knock off Halibrands 15x13 is a WIDE and BITCHN looking super aggresive rear tire/rim and it needs every inch of them! The RADICAL.....Simply put is one BAD ASS piece of smokin fast art work!! Im also English. I was born in Epsom,Surrey...Just a mile from the Horse track, which also put me exactly 23.6 miles from Leatherhead. I then moved to Dawlish,Devon. My mates about 15 miles outside of Dawlish have a fantastic speed/custom paint...Hell custom ANYTHING!! The shop is called "Frankys Speed Shop" as in Frankenstein because they bring some beautiful cars together. I shipped 2 cars over from Denver Colorado for Matty to paint. No job. I shipped them DHL on a 747. His cheapest paint job is £4500 quid. Trust me when I say perfection IS REAL. Anyway..The RXC is a beast of a different gene! They have accomplished and captured what is magic. They are true Craftsmen. They succeeded in a business which honestly DOESNT see many winners,no matter how good they are. They caught the lightning in their bottle. Its a 2017 Ford GT BEFORE the17 GT. THEY INDEPENDENTLY built something extremely similar without Fords deep pockets. The R&D we drive is just as good as the car people ridiculously BEG to pay $4-500,000 for. Sure it looks different,of course the #s are a bit different. The car gives me everything I could ask for PLUS more. I drove one of these way back in the start when the only engine was the 3.7 liter. lol but I kept my ear to the ground and listened. Then my friend,Don Hoffman picked on up. Great guy. HUGE CAR COLLECTOR. PAGANIS,Bugattis,AMG MERCS such as one of the VERY 1ST AMG SLS w silver over red alcantera. A warehouse full of you say it. 53 Corvette 2nd off the line..✔ 66 Muira✔,1974 Yellow with a "difficult to describe" almost cinnamon leather seats and with matching surrounding leather but Tan carpet, dash but were 2 different tans, black steering wheel and shifter gate. Car is a very first run Countach LP400 no flairs,wings..Just what the Countach doesnt have that made his perfect. also a 78 white with red interior LP400s, Red on black leather and Bronze rims on a 82 LP500S I could go up through every model into just about every great mfg. McLaren which I visited with him in Woking. Spotless. Only car he shows no interest? The Koenigsegg and from what ive learned through Don,Christian and his cars arent something I could ever be passionate about. I have also seen them expelling way to much burnt oil. Yes every egg ive seen burned oil. Don Has a fleet of cruise ships as well as both oil and Freighters both in the ocean AND the sky when freight is involved. His daughter Abi is 21 and is a signed country artist. She has played on tour with Taylor Swift,Kelly Clarkson etc, etc. OH and he has bought her 2 planes so far. His planes are all custom painted and a # are piano black with a Skull&Cross bones either on the tail and either a race car or music type logo on the fuselage The 1st plane he gave her was a late 90s Learjet 45 which was painted Black and Yellow as her tour bus with her name and a music type cross bones of 2 guitars and a skull wearing a eye patch and cowboy hat. She now has a 737..Yes..... I did say that. Im going to get to it but with Don there is so much..He bought 2 RADICAL RXC TT 500R models AND a V8 RXC which isnt practical and its a 100% track car. those hybrid motors SCREAM up to 12,000 rpm! Don helped get me a car to my exact spec without the wait. Do you have the 500 or the 500R? I got a 500R with Transparent French Racing Blue over the exposed gloss carbon weaving..Not all the car is painted blue. about 50% of the car is blue. Its painted on the parts such as the nose, front dam above the splitter, top of each fender and more. its done to mimic wet paint driven 500mph wet but while being taped and having order. There is also Kandy red on small sections and the wheels are all Kandy apple red. Also small areas of kandy red highlights. The interior is your typical RADICAL black Alcantera/Suede except I have red Alcantera seats and red stitching EVERYWHERE RAD usually uses yellow. I have NO yellow. Even my emblems lack yellow. I have blue pulls on my gullwings to shut them. I do have pokished gold tow hooks both front and back. I have a pair of Nikes that were made to match my car paint scheme. They have my initials on the sides of the black side sole in yellow so its visible. A guy from Nike saw my car as well as another car I have painted similar but since its a 90s JDM vehicle,I painted even the carbon parts such as the hood, fenders and deck lid. Its Chiron blue paint, translucent kandy apple red on the Carbon Fiber rims,Red Suede Bride Low Max seats..no rear. Blue dayglo colour gauges. Alcantera covered dash with red stitching, Roll cage is Kandy red, momo wheel is anodized black, with black suede, red stitching yellow mono center. I was asking if you had a 500 or 500R because of HP & Trq. Radical do a Brake HP as well as wheel hp. My second car which is the 2016 500R I had a 14 500 and the R is a different animal. Its the fastest RAD ever made. Mine pulled 612whp/476lb-trq.. OK.all the history eas for a reason.Im only 42. His daughter and I are close and he supported our decision.I guess even though I was 35 and his daughter 15 when I met him and her. Im a session guitarist. I play for bands when they need specialized styles and or sounds. I was taught by my pop who was classically trained in England starting back in 1951 when ny dad was 7... He also moved into blues and my pop played finger style. I do too. I play lije Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins with Clapton,Hendrix,Freddie King,Lightnin Hopkins,Jimmy and Stevie Ray Vaughan mashed up and Ive been on all Abs albums since she was 15 and at 18 we started dating. Her pop was ok with it. More ok than I EVEN WAS! Anyway... Don...Her pop. my friend, employer, car guy and fellow racer and possibly my future father in law was killed. He died in the car I started disliking a number of YEARS AGO now. He burned alive in a fckn piece of shit! I bet you already guessed it. ......a 2006 ....PORSCHE CARRERA GT..This guy flew a jump jet,he was multi engine jet, turbo prop,Radial prop,He was also a certified UH Chopper Instructor, taught for Bondurant in the early 2000s. He was born in 1951. My pop was born in 44. its now odd having a friend so close to my dads age.. I just delt with finding a friend hanging in his own closet and now Don dies in a fire. A fire in a car that burns way to easily. As fond as I have been of Porsche. I have a 1984 Euro spec 930.. 84 911 Turbo 3.3 930s were banned in the U.S The CarreraGT has burned up so many people. They arent famous ,so u dont hear about them, but the # jeeps climbing. I mean Jay Leno lost control of his at 205. Gis fault but if he hit anything..BOOM its burning! People that are into cars do know its a problem and not only driver error. All these driver aids a relatively new and im still way more fond of older cars with out them. They are taking away or actually they are stopping people from ever learning PROPER technical agility and leaving it to a computer to save you!!! Guess what...Porsche can prove peoples driving sucks without help for only 1 million bucks. This brilliant piece of engineering will not only kill you in 1.5 seconds but set a whole neighborhood on fire if you have a full tank. its quite the coincidence that fires that kill lots of people are both 911.
nice mate!!! I actually have a RXC 500R... its like a completely different car!!! the 500R is a BEAST!!!!!! sorry it tooknso long to reply.. i was born in Epsom Surrey.. And the P1 was in race mode, wasn't it? So it technically wasn't 'road legal' while it did it's best lap, whereas this Radical was. It's all a win for British engineering, but I do prefer the P1, and perhaps a circuit where the P1 could make more use of it's considerable extra hp would reduce this gap?
Why Zac Youngson?...it's just not me to actually cuss...haven't you ever seen the movie "the Fantastic mr.fox"?...ima sit right here til I get a response!..so don't keep me (cussing) waiting!
This is the car to buy if the budget allows and racing tracks are not far away! I'm loving it, although I haven't driven it. It's almost, like, my favorite car for public roads LOL :) Really nice. It looks like it got a true manual sequential gearbox, not some dumbed-down double-clutch system with ABS. They are not bad at all, modern double-clutches but... this one is the real deal. It's the modern mechanic gearbox, not the H-manual stick from the ancient times when we used the right foot for breaking (I still haven't forgotten how to use the right foot for breaking, which you've got to when you use the H-pattern manual gearbox stick). This car has a superb gearbox like those on racing cars -- I just have a feeling that it does, although I can't be 100% sure. The drawback is that the speedometer/tachometer is not in front of you like in the Porsche GT3 R but the latter one is not street-legal and is meant for pro racing only. So, this RXC has almost no competitors among street cars, even the most expensive ones.
I didn't want to like this car at first, but the more I think about how fun it would be to drive this beast around the streets, the more I'm beginning to love it
Obviously but let's be realistic on this way. First thing of all is that you must be sitting on millions to get a p1 and second this is a perfect alternative for a hypercar (it has the looks and the performance also to mention that it involves its own compromise with stuff like security and confort check the valkyrie it's exactly what you mentioned) and it can be worked out to upgrade it even more if you can in other words its a great project car
They should ask: can it really challenge the 918? Everybody knows that the 918 wuld've beaten the P1 if Porsche had sent engineers, too and if they hadn't raced it with roofless...
Michael Tarantino but evo only test road cars in the leaderboard series. And if the P1 is in race-mode mode you could argue that in that moment it's not a road-legal car.
Adrian Alfano That's a fair position to take, but you could also argue that the P1 is naturally a street legal hyper car. It only uses a mode from the factory to boost it's performance on the track. So in theory it shouldn't be a factor against it considering it's road legal from the start.
+Michael Tarantino There is a problem with that. Mclaren themselves were telling us how much G-forces this car makes (close to F1-cars) and that it's build to be the fastest on any track. If it has so much aero with a huge wing and the huge diffuser (the wing can create so much down-force that it can break the suspension) then why does it need a race mode that is not road legal? Despite all that extreme aero, it needs to be lowered to an inch of the road to be as fast as the other 2 hyper cars. At least with special tires. Seems Mclaren tried everything to be as fast as the competition.
+kraenk12 I understand the P1 not road legal in race mode. But IMO it's grasping at staw a bit. The race setting is not road legal because of things like ride height and noise. IMO as long as it can enter this mode while not requiring any hardware swapping or modification to jump between the track and road it's fair game. There are drawbacks with cars that can perform this as well in the form of weight. I would stay this for any car, not just the P1. If you can jump from the street to the road without and car alterations except software it's fair game. The tires used in the P1 IMO would be the deal breaker before the software modifications. While the Trofeo R tires can be driven on road, they are completely designed for on track use and at a maximum only for driving to the track. But this kind of stuff is all a matter of opinion. If you believe race mode cancels out the P1's time that fine and you do have legit reasons for that. If you believe the tires are not an issue, that's fine
I see your point, but it would be more fair if they were to test them on the same tires. Stated in the review the 918 showed up with no technical support. It consistently ran faster than the P1 in motortrends test as well.
rs san Well MT wasn't testing on Anglesey, so it may have been the tracks. I understand your point about fairness, which is a good point, but like the Megane 275 vs. Civic Type-R, they tested those on their normal tyres you would get straight from the factory. I don't know why Porsche didn't send technical support.
if you want a car that can do exceptionally well in ''close'' tracks you get the radical. in a track like monza the radical would be smoked by the way. your question by default suggests that you are either interested in cars that can do well in close tracks,or that you don't know(or sphearically comprehend) what you just compared.. no offense mate :)
Very cool track test. It would be nice to have a similar leaderboard on a track with a bit longer straights to it. I know the Radical is still considered the fastest on the 'Ring, but I'm guessing a P1 test there is not feasible yet for press. Any other options available for Evo? The Radical does not have the same capabilities above 100 mph as a P1, so I can only assume a different track will affect things greatly.
Road Legal, pretty sure it aint, unless they raise it a set few inches making it look all wheel-archy weird? Forget about speed bumps and driveways, an empty bottle, small or medium sized tree branch would total that,,,oh my,, i want one,,, sick Radical. Great post EVO, beauty mate.
Come on EVO stop comparing this thing to the P1, I dont care its road legal, it's not a P1 competitor at all, period. A 250CC Superkart would probably be even faster. This car is amazing in it's own right.
+Peter Timowreef They aren't comparing it to the P1 per se, but more to the current fastest production car, which happens to be the P1. The 250cc kart you are mentioning won't be street legal. That's the whole argument.
wow.....I didnt see tht coming but the stats say it all bit not all the time can you use this stats; the real world is where it's at, and she, this awesome radical did it. Bravo guys!
I'd drive this thing to work every day.... I'd also wake up extra early and take the long way. Just to listen to that engine and that transmission whine!!! AAAAAH! :D
For what's it worth, it's basically a miniature road-legal LMP car. It'd be kind of surprising if it was not faster than P1. Whereas the P1 just looks like a supercar, albeit one of the most striking and beautiful ones. And the P1 is a hybrid, which is also impressive.
3:55, I got the gist. It's simply a race car adapted for road use so no point going into discussions about performance, especially at its hefty price point!
LOVE the Radical! But it's a race car that's street legal. The P1 is a street car that's also good ok a track. End of the day the P1 is 10 times the car. It'll do everything.
But it's a hell lot more expensive and more accessible (of course anyone would choose the p1 anytime) for the p1 you should accomplish some requirements like already having the mp4 12c and so
Just sitting in at an "In n Out" parking lot...having your double double, looks to be you're speeding already. No Strawberry "shakes" here...juice it up with a Coke, and drive off into the sunset! Lov'n Life!!!
That radical is insane! Have you taken the Brabham BT62 around that track yet? That would be interesting.....or is this for road legal cars only? If so, roll on Brabham road legal supercar! :)
Got to take a 2016 RXC for a test drive here in Las Vegas at LVMS(really helps to know people who know people with cool toys :) ). I would love to have one. Easier to get one than the new Ford GT with the same power plant.
+Alan Dallas YES! Isn't it amazing? I found it's everything you need and nothing more, chassis, driveline, body, seat, it makes almost all other cars look like technical masturbation. The only thing Lamborghini had close to it would have been the Sesto Elemento but they don't make those cars any more unless you can commission.
I really love the Radical, so don't start attacking me. I'm surprised it weighs so much. A car similar to this, but with a Turbo Hayabusa engine, or something similar (H2R engine?), would be so much lighter. And before people start saying 'not enough torque', turbocharging would give the motorcycle engine heaps of torque. It's possible to get 350hp out of the Standard Hayabusa internals with a turbo, or 500hp+ with forged crank, lower comp pistons etc.
Would this thing be capable down a British back road? Or would it shake my spine to bits? Id love one I just imagine it to be menacing down a bumpy country road.
I view it this way. Even though P1 and 918 are amazing cars, we havent hit a time where you can have perfect track performance and perfect road/daily driving at the flip of a switch, they're still bound by mechanical properties and size/weight/etc limitations. Yes, you can have great-great setup, but it's like a Downhill bike isnt a Road bike or vice versa. So even if you have the latest All-Mountain CF bike that weighs very little and very strong, you still wont see pro's competing with it for DH or Road races cause it's not the most efficient design for one specific application. For here, even though the gap is super close, you always are having tradeoffs for raw performance vs comfort/usability, simple as that.
Love this car. It would be awesome if they made one everso slightly bigger with more creature comforts like a nose-lift, sound deadenning and a little bit of luggage space. Really want to see a review of the V8 version too, the only vids I come across are pure-sound track stuff.
Ultima evolution vs Praga R1R vs radical RXC 500 turbo. That would be amazing to watch. I think the ultima would win because it's power to weight ratio is 950kg:1020hp or 1.07!
Kudos to the driver for being fearless in taking advantage of downforce in cornering and break power for late breaking. That had to be insanely scary but the only way to set such an amazing track time. Wowza!
WHat a trackday weapon !!!! Does it really gonna sell it globally !?Drove a Radical SR3 once in Sydney but Radical is not road legal in Australia. wondering if the supensions are adjustable ? The ride height seems not road use friendly.
This Radical time isn't a big surprise. I have been waiting for it to top P1 here. The down force comes in sooner then P1 setup. There is still sometime left on the track for P1 also. R tires only latest a for laps due to no heat cycling. 918 with some pressure adjustments like Leguna, could be faster too.
do you run a control tyre during these timed laps. i often wonder that. surely tyres are half the factor of these times. you also need a ladderboard that shows off fun factor. driving fast is great, but driving sideways is better.
+atheosxgaming the leaderboard is just about times, they do the thrill stuff elsewhere. I think comparing factory spec cars (i.e. with the tyres they come with) and noting where they're options is fine here as it reflects the pace as it leaves the showroom.
the only thing that bugs me about this amazing machine, is the dis-proportionate roof to the body size. the body just looks smaller than the roof. they should make a single seater central driver version and make it look proportionate.
Makes total sense. If you track the p1 is expensive to maintain if you crash or wreck it then you're at million dollar loss so you're not doing 100%. But with the rxc you have the money 10 fold so you wouldn't care and drive it 10/10ths.
Absolute beast.
most random guest appearance ever 😂
Bob Nub My comment is pretty understandable what do you mean by what?
Bob Nub yeah
bro i cant believe i just saw this comment lol
Mumbo Jumbo that was unexpected
Wow, I had a ride in that car during Top Marques Monaco, and it completely blew my mind, especially the violence of the acceleration! Never been in a P1 but I'm happy it beat it :D Radical are awesome!
I remember that thing was crazy
Of course Ecoboost power..... Daytona & Lemans 24hr winners
This car makes all the other hypercars look like posers for rich kids :)
And all that incredible performance for 140.000?
+Mgoblagulkablong It is indeed a bargain. :3
+Mgoblagulkablong Perhaps on the track, but which one would you honestly rather drive across Europe in?
+NyseriA Yeah but you would buy an F12 or a Porsche to do that. If you want to spank some posers; this, a Caterham or an Ariel or even a Porsche RSR is the way to go.
Poser.
It looks like a LeMans Race Car and is in a different league than Caterham, Areiel,... in terms of speed.
Sadly after 3 years Radical still havent felt the need to set a Nordschleife time and shut the competition up for good.....
What an epic car this is.
Right. I would’ve loved to see the lap time
Is Micheal Vergers still available to drive for Radical?
I love the P1 but I'm kinda excited the underdog won here. Especially since it's a more simple, traditional design. Great video!
And Evo, keep showing us the unpopular cars we don't hear about everyday. I love to see them.
Put an Ultima Evolution around your track - I'd love to see how it compares with the Radical!
It would be faster probably. Super low drag on that thing and just as insane in every other way.

This is one of the most misunderstood and underestimated cars on the road, and it just keeps getting better.
One of these will be joining our family. They are street legal... can't wait... Its gonna be so insane to see these on the road!
I wanna see it DoctaM3. Also you can't buy the Ariel?
+Coderoid The new one is 3.8 Turbo
hell yea doc M3 can't wait 2 see ur review on this..im 1 of ur subscriber's... still keepin the avenger n hurican 458 etc.? oh n the new i8 bmw..👍👍👍👍
+Chad Shackleford Thanks Chad. Appreciate your support!
+Sunyata Yep.. you know it.. the Radical is sick and mean looking.
Negative nancies need to shut up, this thing is EPIC in it's own right...
@Christian Slater Mate, that thing is cool as hell. Basicaly a GT3 car for the roads.
Christian Slater you doing alright little guy? You sound hurt.
Meghani Motorsports That's great for the Radical but I'm talking about using a V-box type unit for every car in this series.
I came over to the U.S. IN 85 WHEN i was 11.. im 43 now.. i have a # of cars..including a small exotic Dealership.. ill tell u more.. I have 3 Euro Spec Countachs right now. 85 LP 500 Quttrovalvole as well as 2 86 500 QVs.. love to share more with ya.. ill get u me email if u reply!! Cheers...
That car is insane! Saw it on the streets of Monaco and also on the Nordschleife.
+Automotive Mike what the fuck were you doing in monaco?
Faster and accessible, who needs to spend 1 million dollars?
People who actually might want to drive it on the road. You'd have to be an idiot to buy this if it's not going to spend most of its time on a track.
And the P1 was in race mode, wasn't it? So it technically wasn't 'road legal' while it did it's best lap, whereas this Radical was. It's all a win for British engineering, but I do prefer the P1, and perhaps a circuit where the P1 could make more use of it's considerable extra hp would reduce this gap?
it is legal to drive in race mode on the road
Not in Britain, I think.
+MagicSkeleton the police cant check it unless they force you to stop
+MagicSkeleton P1 isnt legal on the road in Britain in race mode as it changes all the impact/crumple zone heights.
evildiabl04 Yeah I know all this. You replied to the wrong person.
I CAN'T HEAR YA!
+Pasxali K WHAT?! WHAT ARE THEY SELLING?!
+Vincent Graves DID YOU SAY CHOCOLATE????
+Pasxali K I THINK HE SAID BLESSED ARE THE CHEESE MAKERS !!
+Pasxali K Damn straight-cut gears!
+Pasxali K I SAID, SHUT DOWN ALL THE GARBAGE MASHER ON DETENTION LEVEL!!!
Ford 3,5 V6 Engine, so this is a Lightweight Ford GT? :p
it beats the GT all day everyday around a track like this
Nik Brudar no shit sherlock...
***** Why´re you telling me this? :)
***** ya, but why should I know this`?
***** It was a joke...
GET THE (CUSS) OUTTA HERE!!!..a video from you guys that's not sponsored and we can comment on!?
+Audiwan Kenobi Was looking for this
I feel the word cuss is more offensive than fuck.
Why Zac Youngson?...it's just not me to actually cuss...haven't you ever seen the movie "the Fantastic mr.fox"?...ima sit right here til I get a response!..so don't keep me (cussing) waiting!
Jeez what are you idiots 5? Just say fuck
Hariz Hafi everyone doesn't speak like your kind...you got a problem with that?
Epic British race car ,makes mincemeat of the Millionairs toys !!
Wow. What an amazing machine! Props to Radical!
Proper machine, proper review. Love Jethro's stuff, down to the point, as it should be.
What a weapon. Anglesey + that car = Pure fun
6:07 those wires are holding on for dear life lol
Superb driving, Jethro. Really fine lines and control.
Love your videos that I stumbled on by accident, and I am so glad that I did! You have just earnt yourself another sub. Fab videos.
I had the privilege of being overtaken by one at MSR Houston. They're quite amazing!
Fantastic, what an achievement for Radical to be able to make such fast and drivable cars, at prices that should make McLaren, Porsche etc blush.
People at Radical, Ultima and etc. Expose brands like Porsche for what they are. Overpriced, underperforming, overweight garage queens.
I didn't want to like this car at first, but the more I think about how fun it would be to drive this beast around the streets, the more I'm beginning to love it
They don’t sell street legal cars anymore, only a handful available on used market now (I tried very hard to buy / find one)
سيارتي المفضلة , شكرا لتصويركم اياها
my top #1 car , thanks for shooting it
I missed this car, and rewatched the video
Great stuff. I love the looks of the Radical...and that track, beautiful!
Would still rather a P1 over this. its pretty much a race car made to only just be legal enough to be classed as Street car lol
And the P1 Is....?
A street car with a racecar mode lol
+Dylan F (DJBluff22) If I had a P1 I'd drive it in the same conditions though. I'd take the radical personally
this seems less intense but more fun to drive than any p1 or ferrari or porshe this is a legit machine missile raw fucking bazooka of a car
+Adrian Alfano Especially since those P1 times were achieved in the non-road-legal race mode to begin with.
+kraenk12 I mean no disrespect, but you fail to realize that race mode is exactly for that: Racing.
Michael Tarantino but evo only test road cars in the leaderboard series. And if the P1 is in race-mode mode you could argue that in that moment it's not a road-legal car.
Adrian Alfano
That's a fair position to take, but you could also argue that the P1 is naturally a street legal hyper car. It only uses a mode from the factory to boost it's performance on the track. So in theory it shouldn't be a factor against it considering it's road legal from the start.
+Michael Tarantino
There is a problem with that. Seems Mclaren tried everything to be as fast as the competition.
i can't believe they put twin turbos on that thing. radical lives up to its name, truly.
This car would kill on the ring. Amazing machine.
Great video, thanks! If you could do lap times with BAC Mono or fastest Atom or Lotus 3-11 that would be awesome!!!
Good to see what real passion for racing can achieve
Owning a le man prototype?, I like that idea
It would be very interesting how it compares to the ariel atom 500 since the cars are pretty similar.
does this car have straight cut transmission gears? sure sounds like it
Nice! We should have more companies like Radical!!! Good stuff!!
Question that turbo 500 is a spec u can get? Because I checked the site and it only gives the option of the 400 and something spec
Wicked little car! I can imagine, with a little more tire, it would be quicker. What an epic track!
Test the 918 on Trofeo R tyres.
+rs san The P1 wasn't even raod legal when achieving those times. It was in race mode.
+rs san They don't come with those tires. That's probably why they didn't.
I don't see why people get all worked up about this. It is clearly a race car made road legal. Big deal, pfff.
Statement from someone who clearly is amazed by the road prowess of a Prius (R-Spec)
🙄🤪😊🤪😳😆🤤
Don't forget the BRZ Rolls On Prius Tyres too
Jethro and Chris Harris need to make some videos together.
";-)
TONY, get out of here with your perverted fantasies.
Why buy a P1 when you can have this for much less?
Because mclaren p1 is way better looking, be honest; what car would you rather be seen in the p1 or the radical?
I would want to be seen in the P1 if I want to look rich to other people
if you want a car that can do exceptionally well in ''close'' tracks you get the radical. in a track like monza the radical would be smoked by the way. your question by default suggests that you are either interested in cars that can do well in close tracks,or that you don't know(or sphearically comprehend) what you just compared.. no offense mate :)
1995tolis I would rather have the radical Then the hybrid tbh
In the P1 you'd be seen from a Radical's rear view mirror.
Those downshifts are absolutely insane
Very cool track test. It would be nice to have a similar leaderboard on a track with a bit longer straights to it. I know the Radical is still considered the fastest on the 'Ring, but I'm guessing a P1 test there is not feasible yet for press. Any other options available for Evo? The Radical does not have the same capabilities above 100 mph as a P1, so I can only assume a different track will affect things greatly.
+conanthanoz19 What track is that I couldn't hear him in the start of the video? His voice was drowned out by the car noise Thx
Ed
+Peter Timowreef I don't reckon they're gauging it as a P1 competitor in the market, just on the track.
+DoubleYouPee There is only one problem. This fasted production car isn't even the fastest on many track around the world.
kraenk12 Yes the Tesla P100D is not great on tracks
Peter Timowreef ii
wow.....I didnt see tht coming but the stats say it all bit not all the time can you use this stats; the real world is where it's at, and she, this awesome radical did it.
Wow, I like Radical's new look
Can you get one of these in the U.S.?
Nope but you can get a slc superlite
That radical is insane! Have you taken the Brabham BT62 around that track yet? That would be interesting.....or is this for road legal cars only? If so, roll on Brabham road legal supercar! :)
Street legal, but is it usable on the street? Does it have a lift system for speed bumps?
Bumps will love this car!
Ariel Atom 3.5R What's the time in that dry track?
Got to take a 2016 RXC for a test drive here in Las Vegas at LVMS(really helps to know people who know people with cool toys :) ). I would love to have one. Easier to get one than the new Ford GT with the same power plant.
+Alan Dallas YES! Isn't it amazing? I found it's everything you need and nothing more, chassis, driveline, body, seat, it makes almost all other cars look like technical masturbation. The only thing Lamborghini had close to it would have been the Sesto Elemento but they don't make those cars any more unless you can commission.
i would like to see how the Raical RXC Turbo compares with a Gumpert Apollo :)
Point made Radical, Much Respect!
Radical have v8 engine made from two Hayabusa engines on 72 degrees angle, from naturaly aspirated 3.2l pushing around 500hp and 10500rpm.
That’s what I want to see!
When will anyone get their hands on the one:1??? I haven't seen a single review or comparison.
Needs rear defuser and shark fin.
What would it do with a Rouse supercharged Coyote v8?
Please compare it with the Ultima Evolution! Padel Vs. H-Shifter! Analog Vs. Digital!
I was confident right from the start this would be able to beat the P1, more of a race car than a road car but still manages to be road legal awesome.
I think it would rattle your teeth out!
+Michael Goodwin Lightweight with high quality suspension? No reason it shouldn't ride beautifully.
+EVO what is the outro song? :( I want to know!!!
What is the name of the track ? Where is it ?
Love this car. It would be awesome if they made one everso slightly bigger with more creature comforts like a nose-lift, sound deadenning and a little bit of luggage space.
Really want to see a review of the V8 version too, the only vids I come across are pure-sound track stuff.
I thought nose lift was an option. For the V8 version check Evos radical RXC spyder review. It’s a track use only car but quite something
Ultima evolution vs Praga R1R vs radical RXC 500 turbo. That would be amazing to watch. I think the ultima would win because it's power to weight ratio is 950kg:1020hp or 1.07!
Love to see a track battle between this, a Viper ACR, a GT3 RS, and an M4 GTS
It exists. Some of us are calling it : "Le Mans".
the m4 its is not in the same realm as the viper or gt3
Kudos to the driver for being fearless in taking advantage of downforce in cornering and break power for late breaking. That had to be insanely scary but the only way to set such an amazing track time. Wowza!
that car is nuts. and this dude is driving the shit out of it. he drives race driver freakin fast
WHat a trackday weapon !!!! Does it really gonna sell it globally !?Drove a Radical SR3 once in Sydney but Radical is not road legal in Australia.
wondering if the supensions are adjustable ? The ride height seems not road use friendly.
Is there a more pretty circuit than Anglesey in the sunshine?
Wow! Pretty Radical! - And what happens on Track Tires ?.
That reminds of the ultra rare mid engined 2 seater Ultima GTR ... that was built around the mid 90's
This Radical time isn't a big surprise. I have been waiting for it to top P1 here. The down force comes in sooner then P1 setup. There is still sometime left on the track for P1 also. R tires only latest a for laps due to no heat cycling. 918 with some pressure adjustments like Leguna, could be faster too.
lap time ⌚ record at the Nurburgring?
This car is a killermachine. I want to see the Nürburgringlaptime.
The Radical is totally awesome and I'm so glad to see a less expensive car beat a multi-million dollar car around a race track.
since its street legal when are we gonna start to see these down in Texas fighting for street king spot?
do you run a control tyre during these timed laps. i often wonder that. surely tyres are half the factor of these times. you also need a ladderboard that shows off fun factor. driving fast is great, but driving sideways is better.
+atheosxgaming the leaderboard is just about times, they do the thrill stuff elsewhere. I think comparing factory spec cars (i.e. with the tyres they come with) and noting where they're options is fine here as it reflects the pace as it leaves the showroom.
is that the engine from the new GT, or just happens to be another twin turbo 3.5 v6 from ford?
+Gabriel Lewis
not the ford gt engine
Similar in a few ways, but it's not the same engine. This one is basically a modified version of the one found in the F-150 and Taurus SHO.
Can't wait to see how the car nerds turn this car into a monster and show case it down here in Tx
the only thing that bugs me about this amazing machine, is the dis-proportionate roof to the body size. the body just looks smaller than the roof. they should make a single seater central driver version and make it look proportionate.
i wanna see a caparo lapping angelsey, probably even a bigger gap than from the radical to the P1
Which was easier to drive, the P1 or the Radical 500?
Makes total sense. If you track the p1 is expensive to maintain if you crash or wreck it then you're at million dollar loss so you're not doing 100%. But with the rxc you have the money 10 fold so you wouldn't care and drive it 10/10ths.
Can we have a vote to review the new Gt3RS. Purple please +Jethro
is he just really short or did they put the roof way higher than needed?
Extra space for a helmet I suppose
haha, well i've never seen a helmet that is 20 cm thick xD
outro sound track ID anyone? . . .
