Can't really compare the massive V12 to this tiny V8. Obviously the Ferrari will sound better. But I think the GTR is the whole package. It looks absolutely fucking mental, like nothing else on the road or track, sounds amazing and it performs as it should.
Imagine if instead of all those souless prototypes that are racing at the 24h of Le Mans and other endurance races we could watch the likes of that P1 GTR, Ferrari FXX , Zondas R, Aston Martin Vulcans and other hypercars racing against each other! What a dream!
Fantastic review Jethro! The pressure of thrashing that car around knowing its value and rarity must be nerve wrecking. But you did it with gusto and, along with your team at EVO, did a hell of a job with this film.
Evo getting it right as always. Cinematography is always superb. Editing is on point. Nothing is exploding or getting destroyed and the sounds aren't dubbed in. Pure honest car reviews done by true enthusiasts that actually know how to pedal a car well and do a review at the same time. Love it and never stop. This is the closest you will get to being able to imagine or understand how some of these extreme exotics actually feel through film and word.
Last 2 cents... Wish shows like top gear would actually do what they say on the box. Cant see the appeal to be honest. Sorry this isn't aimed at you Chris Harris, you're still the original civilized hooligan, will always follow CHOC and read your articles aswell.

Lots of Turbo cars sound good... its just people have now been brainwashed into a one dimensional, conformist mentality where turbos have been demonised in recent years. Sure NAs are freer breathing, but a turbo does not guarantee a bad noise as NAs also do not guarantee a great noise.

I have seen both of these cars in person The FXXK and P1 GTR it’s a beautiful car but FXXK when you see it person drop dead gorgeous FXXK it’s just in a class of its own.
Not a fan of the 2nd version FXXK though, I like the FXXK Evo more because of the more aggressive aero package. But still just the same car but with different styling
The P1 GTR just pushed the P1 down on my list to become my favorite car. Every time I look at those spoilers, there is an expression of joy on my face that I can't explain. Hope I get to drive one of the above mentioned cars in my lifetime. Need to work hard.!!!!

One of my favorite car channels of 2016. It used to be /DRIVE but we all know they've gone to the shitter. EVO provides the objective qualities (lap times) and subjective qualities (Jethro pooing himself on camera) that I look for in a car video. Great job!

I was interested how that laptime compares to bikes, so checked. Looks like in the No Limits Racing (UK domestic racing league), a 1000cc superbike is doing 1:09 around there. Yeaaaa sorry dude but I think you're wrong there tbh mate. The Bugatti Veyron was defo the first hypercar, certainly the first car to earn the title anyways in terms of look, build, engineering, power, speed and cost. It was the car that took the step from supercars like the Murcielago (if that's how ya spell it) and Enzo and just went nuts. Then came cars like the LFA etc and even the egg which I wouldn't call a hypercar I don't think but they were the second ones to start to just go nuts with the tech and build cost and individuality etc etc. Then the holy trinity came with the 918, LaF & P1.
I don't know how Jethro gets up in the morning. Having to go to work and spank a P1 GTR round a track in the sun for a day, must be horrible, my heart goes out to him. :p
On the internet is says "£1.98 million = 2.22 million Euro = $3.06 million" Why spent so much money if you can have a GT3 Race car for 400k euro including a set of spare parts. You can buy a small starter field of GT3 cars for that money!
This is more accessible than a GT3 car. Billionaires would probably end up crashing a GT3. More so, buying a P1 GTR gives you access to a team and iconic tracks around the world.
KaneDesigns The GT3-Car are really easy to drive. Esp when not on the limit! BlancPain has a GT3 Pro-Am class were wealthy amateur drivers can take part in. Pretty sure a GT3 car is easy to drive on race track as it is more confused for the race track it also has less power what makes it easier on the throttle.
Because you van drive it to the track lap at same pace as GT3 Race cars, and drive home again (road converted of course). And if you can afford it, you can probably run a GT3 team as well, so have both.

While the P1 GTR is certainly manic and very, very impressive it should be noted that a) it is a borderline racecar with lexan side windows (not legal for road use in the USA) and B)It has drag or race slicks that would never see the light of day on a road car, etc. etc. The Porsche Turbo S can easily be modified and boosted to 1200 hp. Such is the mighty German engineering out of Stuttgart,Baden-Württemberg, that even 750hp would probably give the 911 Turbo S enough oomph to either tie the p1 GTR or come in at least second place on streetable tires!
