The Bichon Frise is a small dog breed that originated in the Mediterranean region. They are known for their fluffy, curly white coat and playful, affectionate temperament. Bichons are intelligent and eager to please, making them easy to train and a great choice for families with children. They are also hypoallergenic, which means they produce less dander and are less likely to cause allergic reactions in humans.
Bichons require regular grooming to maintain their coat, but are otherwise low-maintenance and adaptable to different living situations. They are one of the smallest dog breeds in the world, typically weighing between 7 and 12 pounds.

Ok I need to stop watching theese videos I'm getting puppy fever
Edit: I hate to be this person buttttt
MOOOOM IM FAMOUSSSS
I’ve had puppy fever for a while, the breeder I hope to get my next service dog prospect from just had a litter of puppies.
Me too!
Same here!!!
Ikr but it's still on my fyp and I can't just skip cute puppy's I just can't help myself 💀😭
Clussy fever moment
As a Bichon owner myself, do not get one of these dogs unless you 100% can give them all the attention they want. They are super energetic and almost always want something to do/to be with their owner. They can become extremely loyal to whoever they deem is their owner (mine is super loyal to my dad more than me, even though I’m the one who’s raised him), and get separation anxiety easily
My Bichon is a lazy lump, who prefers to sleep on our laps - rather then exercise. No issues with separation anxiety, but he has his poodle-bichon mix sister to hang out with all day when we're at work. Grooming can be expensive - costs us $600 a year where we live. Otherwise extremely happy, healthy and loving dogs.
I have this type of dog she’s a mix of this type of dog I don’t know how to spell it and we believe she’s also a Shih Tzu
Edit: I learned how to spell it, it is Bichon.
2nd edit: I could of just looked at the title to learn it 🫠
3rd edit: It’s the dog on the left
I have a shih-tzu! He is so small and cuddly!
Bruh i thought this is some kind of Sun tzu quote because if the Tzu in the end
You spelled it right :)
Lhasa-Apso
@@itz.Edennn I have a shih tzu it is so small and a brat
So: bichons need a lot of fur care, between grooming sessions you need to brush, brush, brush.
Despite bichons being hypoallergenic, they’re not “non” shedders, they shed, just not as much as other dogs.
Bichons can also be VERY stubborn dogs (see also the one dog literally flying to get on the table and eat it’s owners food)
Due to them being a rare breed, the puppies are usually bought from a breeder and are less likely to be found in its pure form in a shelter, and they can cost you everything between €1500 and €2600 (1600 and 2700 USD) for a puppy. Personally I, as a breeder, do not sell to America, because of the long trip, if an owner is willing to get a puppy then they need to meet me personally at my place in Europe, and I screen every owner from top to bottom, including whenever or not they have a history of abuse of any kind.
They’re good with children, other dogs and even cats (I have 4 cats and 6 dogs, they get along great, even if the cats get a bit fed up with the dogs sometimes) although curious by nature, they’re friendly in disposition and would not hurt a fly without feeling bad for it
They’re not very vocal dogs unless it’s food, playtime or someone comes in the door.
I love these type of dogs, and if you’re someone who doesn’t wanna spend a 1000 bucks every month on grooming, which I totally understand I just have a good deal with my groomer (aka she gets to play with newborn puppies), wash and brush every other week will stretch your budget, just don’t let them airdry as their fur has a habit of getting matted, use a blow dryer, any type will work but of course the ones we use on ourselves take a bit longer than big industrial ones
Also if you live in a place prone to strong winds… keep your bichon on leash, they’re little balloons, they will go flying/be pushed off course
Hope this helps to anyone who’s considering getting one of “the clouds” as my boyfriend describes them
This needs to get to the top comment
This was very informative, thank you!! Usually expensive breeds are high maintenance. Kind of like a test to make sure people are willing to pay a lot for them regularly XD can I ask where you’re from?
@@ahleenah I’m Danish. I live and work outside of Copenhagen just north of it in what’s called Hørsholm I’ve got a bit of an operation. About 5 females and 1 stud that I rent out to other breeders (because he’s related to about 3 of my females and has too high of an inbreeding coefficient)
If a buyer is willing to come see me and meet the puppies they can also choose what puppy fits them the best, that’s also partly why I do it, a couple of years back some wealthy oil man from the Arabic Emirates wanted to buy a puppy for his wife, but refused to come visit me, he said he would pay 3x for me to just put the puppy on a plane and ship it. That was not happening, no matter how much money he offered, the puppy is alive and well and lives with his mom and two children
You wrote the bichon bible
Nah... I need stubborn dog.. Idc if they are troublemaker, stubborn or anything ,, still cant get mad at them.. Bcs it cute😭😭😭
We had a Bichon named Pearl. She died at 13 years old, ended up getting some sort of spinal cancer. 😔 She was just old. It was heart breaking just seeing her towards the end. She wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t walk. Just laid in her bed all day. We ended up putting her down so she wouldn’t suffer anymore. RIP Pearl 💜
We have a Havanese now. His name is Domino lol
How much does a Bichon cost?
Sorry for you loss. Hope its better now. 👍
Same thing happened to me, I had a bichon frise named ginger and she got lymphoma, instead of giving her chemo and her being miserable we also put her down
@@Some_Cow Aw :( I’m sorry. Ginger isn’t suffering anymore 💜
Pearl was past any type of treatment. We took her to the vet so many times but they couldn’t do anything, they just said let her live the last of her days but she was in pain, couldn’t walk, couldn’t eat, shaking all the time so we laid her to rest. I remember my dad calling me and told me they put her down(which we knew was going to happen) and I was just getting off work at bath and body works in the mall. I was walking through Macys and held back my tears and as soon as I got outside I lost it. Couldn’t breathe crying. It was heart breaking but at least she isn’t suffering anymore
@@L_.TheDissasemblyDrone. It really depends on where you live. If you’re in the USA Some states/areas it’s $1000+ and some places it’s $500.
We got Pearl in the late 90s, I don’t remember how much my parents got her for. She died Jan. 2012.
Seeing this made me cry. We just lost my Bichon Chloe who was 12. She really was a great companion and was definitely a lap warmer all the time. Miss her so much. 💜
"As the owners became bigger and more powerful, they needed to become smaller and less of a threat"
My cat eating my fingers: "yeah, no"
My dog died 2 days ago. Thank you for posting this. This made my heart feel warm
Ive had two bichons and still got the one and haven't spent 1000s on grooming. They were still curly but instead of looking like cotton, their fur just coils or springs unless you brush their fur while drying it with a hairdryer. They don't need high maintenance and can be casual dogs
I had a bichon for 18 years and she was the best friend I ever had. I miss her everyday, Nicholson are a wonderful breed full of love and smiles.
Love it when these dog profiles include the costs associated....like grooming costs in this case....good job....getting a dog is like adopting a child....they NEED your time!!!
I’m glad this Channel is getting recommend more
@Noah Pakkala the more likes you give a channel, the more it will pop up in your feed. Algorithms, my dude.
My guy lookin like a buid a bear lol
Ok this is it
This is now the dog breed I’m getting when I get older (sorry border collie,I love you too but this little cotton ball is perfect)
i have a bischon and he is extremely smart but so sweet but can also be quite attention seeking ❤️
Adopt 🙏 there's a lot of doggies out there needing love
My aunt had one of these. The kindest and the snuggliest and overall the best behaving and everything-friendly dog i've ever met. A real joy to be around. I miss her alot
Nothing less than a thousand years is "quite some time" to be with your furry best friend.
As a owner of a bichon and a Bichon Cross they are great
Day 2 of asking for fox hound
Hi from France! I had a Maltese bichon for… 18 years. They are great dogs! We call them them cushion dogs because as French poodles, they are happy as long as they are close to their human. Don’t be fooled by their cuteness, if you were to be attacked or threatened they’ll defend you. They are one of the nicest, riskless dogs. But they are also superglue dogs 😂
So cuutteee 🤗
My bichon of 3 years never had any health problems, then he got anal gland infection, but the vets treated him with antibiotics and he got poisoning and hepatitis from it, we started taking him to a different vet and it seemed like he had cancer because he got liver failure for no reason, now he's made his recovery and is playful again
My 14 year old dog is a Bishon mixed this a Poodle. She is like my sister and I have known her my entire life. We got her when I was 11 months old.
My other dog is a 4 year old beagle, I got her when I was 11, and she is like my own child. My parents thought she would be a great first pet for 11 year old me and boy she is like a leg warmer. She doesn’t go anywhere without me. 🥹
This channel is awesome
Yes
Our first Bishon lived 19 years. We have one now that is 14 and still ripping around!
“No breed specific health issues” that is INCREDIBLY misleading. Patellar luxation and congestive heart failure may not be breed specific, but they are still very real and very common.
Unless I'm the one losing braincells I'm pretty sure "no breed specific health issues" means it's not common for the breed to have because of their physical build and you just mentioned a disease that isn't breed specific
Exactly, they're not breed specific
🤦
So he was right after all??
Read that again
I had bichons growing up. I had one live up to 17 before we had to say goodbye. They are wonderful pups!
Not a small dog fan but if I ever got one this would be it. I love Bichons!!!
"My grandma's bichon who lived 18 years"
Pathetic
Had a bishon pood mix. So cute.
Omg! They're so freaking cute! That one that gently bit the owners finger was adorable. There was one that followed their owner like a duckling followed their owner! Did you see the tail wag?! Awwwwwwwwwww!
I have two bichons, sisters from the same litter. They are very good dogs! To say they enjoy attention is an understatement. They love to be pet constantly!! Also grooming every 3-4 weeks! No health problems and they’re almost 16 years old this year!
I miss my baby boy Peejay... I lost him in 2020 he was 14 and had Cushing Disease.
Soooo adorable... I wonder would this dog get along with my 2 cats and 2 other dogs (1 Pomeranian and 1 Chihuahua). CUTE FLUFFY STAMPEDE.
Please do Boston terriers next ❤️
They real question is why are they so cute
My "Shi-Chon" (Shih-Tzu/Bichon Frise mix) turned 16 in December and is still going strong. ❤❤❤
My mom used to have one. He was a great pupper.
Soooo fluffy!
The first picture is so cute 😍
the first picture's so cute
I got one, she is a pure queen and someone she acts too human
My bichon was mixed with something else but they said that her breed typically has lots of lung issues and cateracts, whoch she had both of. I dont know if they were trying to make us feel better before putting her down but thats what i was under the assumption of. I miss her, RIP my baby❤️🥺
As someone with a bischon frisse you DON'T have to spend a lot of money on grooming at all. A lot of bischon frisses are pageant winners, so maybe in those cases it's necessary, but if you're just keeping them as pets their grooming is nothing outside the ordinary.
ohhhh my grandma had one my entire childhood, that little boy (his name was bouncer) was my BEST friend, if i went outside to play without him, he’d scratch at the door until i took him outside to play with me and my friends, made her house fun 🥰
I adore little dogs ❤❤❤
I miss coby, although he hated the sound of the ice cream man he was great best friend of a dog
I always have dreamt of have one for myself.
I want one so badly!!!!😍😍😍
I have a bishon and he is the stupidest thing every snores before he sleeps, purrs and barked at a cup for 2 hours BUT HES TOO CUTEEEEE
Ive had 2 of these and intelligent is not how id describe them...
My best friend has a Cavachon and he is my pride and joy, he’s like the perfect dog and he is an amazing little boi
I have a Cavachon, really friendly and super good family dogs! He barks at every person he sees but it’s an alarm bark rather than a threat, and he’s never aggressive once actually meets the person.
All dogs are cute
I already have this dog he is the best
Boston terrier next please ❤️
I just got myself a bichon frise and named her peaches. I will provide her with the best possible life I can because she is my sunshine on the darkest days.
Techno's doggo 🥺
We have a 14yo Bichon, I swear that we thought it was a Poodle for most of his life.
12-14 years? My family had two that lived to be 18 and 16 respectively. Much love to these fluff balls.
My favorite breed and show winner
I have a bichon she love being with her grandma and she over protective for her grandma
Me and my family had a Bichon for a while. My parents got him has a wedding gift back in ‘03, and he was 2 months old. I was born in ‘06, so I’ve known him for all my life. We had to put him down late 2020 though, he was 17 years old. He was a very friendly and playful dog, even up to his last days. I miss him a lot, and a Bichon would be one of my first picks if I ever get a dog of my own
i'm not even much of a dog person (i love dogs just prefer cats) but i'd totally love one of these little sweeties 🥺 they're so cute
I love bichon frisé. My family had one when i grew up and he was just the sweetest dog. The grooming does take a lot of time tho!
I have fur allergies and I'm looking for a dog that can fit in an average size apartment and can climb stairs. Lost me at the maintainace price lol😂
Jack Russell or beagle maybe? I have a friend that is allergic to dogs but not my jack russell
Diego Raúl Gonzales Mateo Santiago Sebastián Lucas Benjamin Felipe Bruno Leonardo Joaquin Lorenzo Ignacio Rodrigo Simon Mendez Francisco Pablo Andres Juan Jose Emilio Isaac Bautista Esteban Raymundo Sergio Gabriel Sanchez Junior The III.
I have a bichon and we just cut her ourselves, looks a lot cuter in my opinion
Italian greyhound!
@@PastelShinobi my aunt has a Greyhound and she had to carpet her floors including the stairs exclusively for the king's delicate legs. I do not have the commitment to install and mantain carpet floors however. Plus Italian greyhounds are quite difficult when it comes to potty training. Italian Greyhound is my favourite dog breed and I would absolutely spoil one if I could but I'm afraid it would have a hard time navigating in my apartment. But thanks for recommending, I appreaciate it.
Oh! You should do one on Cavashions! They are the cutest!
I'm in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡
Snowy.. from Tintin if anyone remembers.
They're honestly one of the most loyal breeds I've seen tbh, very loving and friendly too also isn't canary part of Europe? Part of Spain
I'm getting a bichon im soo excited 😊
People have ruined so many dog breeds with what we think is best for us. A lot of times it ends up harming the dog
I use to have four of them. Great dogs especially with kids and very smart dogs
I have a bichon Shih Tzu mix he’s really crazy smart (when it benefits him) and cute
My first dog Jake was a Bishon mix!
I have a bichon frisé poodle mix, and he has to be the most healthy old dog I’ve seen, he’s about 15 years old now, and still has the energy of the bichon frisé in him even with the somewhat large body he has compared to normal bichons.
Now I want one😭
I love them
As a Bichon frise owner I can say boy oh boy they are worth the hefty price tag
Soo cute!!!
£1000 on grooming is a cap, bought a £40 grooming kit for mine and watched a RUclips tutorial on grooming and I’ve never spent any more money on grooming
I NEED ONE OF THESE!!!!
I have a bichon frise. She's super dramatic, picky eater and very bossy. But she's lovely, caring and patient as well! She's the perfect dog, although caring for her fur is such a pain in the ass... I have to trim her on today.
Aren't these what the dog from the Madagascar Christmas special is?
I have two of these little clouds with legs as well as a cockerpoo.
Happy. He forgot to mention happy, with a mind of their own...
I hate how it cuts off at the end i have no idea how fast their coats grow
So cute 🥰
This Bichon looks so cute and very smart.
Should someone own one?
as a human with allergies I think this dog breed will be okay with me:)
Please also search for breed specific rescues. They need more help and love
What a cute dog. ❤👍❤
I’m getting this dog for sure :)
I enjoyed watching all the videos . Bichon's are the most beautiful and adorable fur babies !! I hope to have a bichon soon. I do love bichons !! ❤🐾🐾❤🐾🐾❤🙏🙏
Tenerife
I have a Poochon (Miniature Poodle cross Bichon Frise) and he’s just a big Bichon with light brown poodle like fur
I had a Bichon and he lived to be 17
I WANT ONE!!!!!
Mine is 16 years old! His name is lucky!
I will just like the video cause of the cute dog videos
Someone from canary islands here (La Palma)
My cousin has one of those and he acts like an old man XD
He got his happy moments but most of the time is in in a bad mood, specially while eating (not saying all are the same, just i find the behavior of that creature funny, like a tiny fluffy dog acting as if It was a dragon)
