Even a master such as Argerich or Horowitz would be often rushed by the speed of their own play, muffling notes. Cho’s touch on the keyboards never misses a note the composer has intended to sound, even when it’s light or under high speed. Chopin would have appreciated this vitality of Cho’s piano music .

Oh, what a rich experience it is to hear Cho perform all four scherzos! We can listen again and again, each time marveling at a different aspect...the emotional depth, the impeccable phrasing, the endless variety in color and articulation, the amazing contrasts in sound between sections of excitement & drama and those of peace & beauty. Chopin was setting new standards for what a scherzo could be; Cho is setting new standards for how a scherzo can sound. Bravissimo!!
포르테 부분은 피아노 다리가 움직일 정도로 강하게 내리치고, 피아니시모 부분을 연주하는데도 알맹이가 가득한 그의 연주가 너무 좋아 죽겠다🤣
Seon-Jin Cho es un talento que se da uno en cada generación , con un perlado maravilloso , fraseo , plasticidad , madures y profundidad que muchos no logran alcanzar en su vida .

중간중간 숨먹이 됩니다. 연주 듣고 있으면 나이 49에 사춘기때보다 더 가슴이 설레고 쿵쾅거려요. 진짜 신기한 느낌입니다. 사실 저는 클래식 잘 모르는 사람인데요. 쇼팽콩쿨 영상 본 이후로 완전 팬이 되었네요. 아마 제가 그 때 연속 3번을 들은 거 같아요. 조성진님 정말 대한민국의 보석입니다. 오래오래 연주해주세요~♡

I can't find a right word for his performance, just say OMG, that's the one.
The nuances in 0p 39 are incredible. Never heard anything like it! In general, I also have heard very few pianists with so much adrenaline, that also sustain a melody and keep the overall stucture of a piece the way he does.
I especially like his approach to the 4th, very refreshing.
For a contrasting set, I have a soft spot for Alice Gi-Young Hwang. Perhaps not as delicate, dramatic, or as much contrast as this, but to me very satisfying due to nicely balanced articulation and excellent pacing that builds up tension, momentum, and excitement that I hear from few others.
(Many others feel a bit capricious to me, which may be an advantage in some ways, but for me the wayward tempo changes tend to kill whatever momentum they’d just built up, and at times slow sections can sometimes even lose my attention, they’ve slowed down so much and petered off into almost nothing. On the other hand, playing too fast can also lose tension; rather than feeling like a force pushing forward while being simultaneously held back, they sometimes just feel like something rolling downhill in an out of control manner, or that the speed just arbitrarily changed, rather than fighting to get faster. Alice avoids both traps better than anyone, and the result is, for me, just about the most magnificent, exciting and satisfying Scherzos I have heard.)
Beautiful and balanced and exquisite -- he really knows how to make Chopin melodies sing over the ambience of the wonderfully articulate left hand. Nice dynamic contrasts and coloring. Superb all around!
