It’s a lovely piece: but it doesn’t quite work as a piece for cello, does it? One longs for the expressiveness of a bassoon or clarinet, the cello seems out of its depth. And what is that extraordinary picture????? Florence?
Interesting. I've always considered the cello one of the most expressive and passionate of instruments, so I find it hard to consider a bassoon or clarinet version would be any more powerful. But that's the beauty of music. Everyone has different feelings and opinions about it. :-)
@@erichbeck9302 it’s basically an orchestral instrument. Some composers have written concerti for it to keep cello players happy. Not many and nothing I’ve wanted to listen to more than once. Unlike the clarinet which is a solo instrument by nature

I desperately need the score! I can't find it anywhere
Bohemian composers, so underestimated and almost unknown! What a pity!

The picture is of Charles Bridge in Prague. Google those words, and the original of the photograph should appear.
