I love the drinks... and I swear I am one day going to make that ice cream based one he declared the greatest in existence, but the annotations are worth every moment of viewership.
I once contemplated writing a country song entitled :"I'll drink it because I paid for it!" based on a drinking experience involving a coffee with Triple Sec on a blizzardy night in Ohio. There were, in fact, people riding snow mobiles in the streets, inside city limits, and my friend and I staggered both to and from the establishment through feet of snow. If ever there were a justification for that song, these drinks cover it.
I am perpetually amused at how I just don't drink (usually, when I do it's rare and it's a Bacardi Strawberry Daquiri cause I'm basic) and yet I very much enjoy your videos. Had my drinkmate for a year now! @@7531monkey I mean, condensed milk is also milk that's had 60% of its liquid volume boiled away. My mother in law and myself did something like this one year. We found about a dozen "holiday" cocktail recipes and made them up at our christmas eve party and had people try then in shot size. There was only 1 that most people liked and it was basically hot coco with Kahlua and vodka dusted with cinnamon. Not really a cocktail, but tasty.
Another good Christmas cosmopolitan is the Santa Clausmopolitain. Rim a martini glass with sugar. Mix 1 oz gin, 1.5oz pure cranberry juice, .5 oz Cointreau, juice from half a lime, and shake with a sprig of fresh rosemary in the shaker. Really balanced.
Honestly? I think the condensed sweetened milk for rimming the coconut shreds in is genius! Thanks for enlightening me on that one! :D
Only "holiday" cocktail I need. Moscow Mule made with Crannberry Vodka. Simple. Tart. Enjoyable. If you wanna give it a bit more of a holiday spice, and if you can find it, add clove bitters.
Evan Williams Egg Nog is my honest go to for Christmas, especially when it comes to, "Well, I'm in this Walgreen's and I'm not actually gonna make something for this party." No joke, it is actually enjoyable, especially for a bottle that's right there at the check-out counter.
Fiance was very interested in what a Coquito is, so now I'll show them that episode. In other news, I found a bottle of the new Yellowstone Toasted bourbon, and a bottle of Booker's today. Happy Holidays everyone.
Brands really do be thinking people just want a glass of almost pure sugar with a slight amount of booze on ice. Sad part is, they're not entirely wrong.
@@HFV_Junkyardin I look at that and can only say "Why do this, when Baileys' exists?!" Because I'm a horrible gremlin who can and will just drink a pint glass of Irish cream on ice, because it's officially my stress-relief drink. Or, if I'm really feeling like a complete gremlin, it's going _over_ the ice cream.
The fig Negroni sounds pretty nice. I go through Campari faster than any other bottle in my cabinet. Maybe a touch of allspice dram would this drink a bit more Christmas.
If you are going to make another christmas/winter themed episode you'll have to try Feuerzangenbowle. It is made with wine, spices, oranges and a huge lump of sugar drenched in burning overproof rum so it caramelizes and drips into the wine.
The words appearing on the left of screen make me laugh. Good job. I probably won’t make any of these, but I learned a lot of new liquor brands and it got me in the Christmas spirit. Thanks. 🎄🎄
Love these videos! Just in case someone goes looking for it, I have to point out that there is no unsweetened condensed milk. You can purchase evaporated milk (unsweetened) and condensed milk (evaporated milk with sweetener) in most stores though.
You should do another one of these!! I just was looking at the Caramel Crown Royal Whiskey and wondering what I could make with it 😂it's got a lot of good words in it (caramel and whiskey lol) and I guess I could just old fashioned it, but I'd love to see what you'd do to make your own good christmas cocktails with christmas liquors!
Right, Greg. Here is a missive from the UK. I am in a pub called the County in Huddersfield UK. Here are their cocktails:- Jack Forest Gateau Coffee Liqueur, Bailey's, Chambord. A Celebration Brandy, Martini Rosso, Campari, Bitters These are the two that are safe to give you, Greg. The others would give you apoplexy as to how Wrong they are. But try Sherry with Ginger Ale!
It's so funny when it comes to "christmassy" flavors around the world. Cranberries isn't very associated with christmas in Sweden. While Figs, dates, oranges and obviously all the christmas spices like cloves, cinnamon etc makes up the greater picture. I guess it has to do with what was shipped before we had supermarkets with daily or weekly shipments of fruits and greens. Like oranges, clementines and most other citrus fruits usually came around when the harvesting seasons were and that happened to be around christmas for us in northern Europe, while we have lingon berries (sort of cranberries), blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries apples and pears pretty much everywhere but during winter and spring.
Here's a good one from me I normally do this in 1/3oz measues Equal parts Bailey's, Rumple, white rum (black or spiced probably won't hurt), and Fireball.
Well Greg, I'd like to say thanks, i think. Since i started watching your show you have literally cost me thousands in booze trying out cocktails which i had never tried before. Have come to love a good whisky sour and have a shit pile of liquor now - thanks
6:29 I’m from philly/currently live in south jersey. I always called ‘Italian ice’ ‘water ice’ (or really, ‘wutterice’). Im pretty sure there’s a technical difference though. Like water ice is a blanket term. Among that there’s Italian, polish, and I assume others I haven’t had. Then you have your sherberts and sorbets and snow cones and whatnot. Point is, Italian ice is a certain type of water ice. I’m also pretty sure a lot of things labeled as Italian ice aren’t actually Italian ice, but that’s just a headcanon.
The VA ABC is displaying the peppermint bark martini. Basically an airport bottle of the rum chata and one of Titos, Shake over ice. It's pretty darn good for a one off holiday xrink
Hey Greg I was wondering if you could make this drink it’s called Christmas cow 1 cup milk, 1 3/4 ounces Irish whiskey, and 1 teaspoon confectioners sugar 1.) heat the milk in a small saucepan just until the milk starts to boil. 2.) remove from the heat and pour into a warmed punch glass. 3.) pour in the whiskey and sugar and stir until the sugar has dissolved. In the picture it’s in a turkish tea glass so umm I’m not sure 🤷♀️
Hey Greg. Love the show. Just wanna point out that the cranberry juice you’re using is the juice blend which is largely other juices if you look at the ingredients. You want the cranberry cocktail.
I like using 100% cranberry juice (unsweetened or sweetened depending on mixers) for more flavor & less sugar. But I also like stuff that isn't too sweet.
LOL, fun breakdown of the stupidity of holiday themed drinks slapped on the gift packs. Especially the caramel. (Though as kids making sundaes, we did learn to hold a finger over the snap caps when shaking them.
I love that bulldog gin bottle. Could you do a review of the best/most unique bottles you've ever seen? Then maybe make cocktails with those libations.
Let go of your attachment to being right, and suddenly your mind is more open. You're able to benefit from the unique viewpoints of others, without being crippled by your own judgement.
A good friend of mine used to make a weirdly tasty drink that he called a "christmas morning". I forget the ratios, but it was a mixture of creme de menthe, cocoa, graham cracker crumbles, and marsh mallow, in a smoked glass.
When you are watching this 2 weeks after it drops and get an ad from Hendricks for a holiday cocktail that sounds good. (Literally just the gin, cranberry juice, and sparkling wine)
I'd love to hear your thoughts on a Snowball, the UK's beloved Christmas cocktail of Advocat and lemonade (but the UK kind, so, like, Sprite). It's sweet and fizzy and foamy and two of them will give you a stomach ache. Perfect Christmas cocktail experience.
5:20 I wouldn't continue to use an immersion blender rather than a real one. We did that for a while, and uh, the stick blender did not survive lol. Ice is what did it in, ultimately.
Good grief the Diabetails Hour! Not glad you had to actually taste these but just reading the ingredients would tell me NOPE! Hope the caramel clean up went well. Merry Christmas from over the pond. The pinnacle of drinks channels as always looking forward to the tastes of 2024.
HAHAHA, the cap fail happened to me last week with some salad dressing. At least my kids got a good laugh out of it. Balsamic all over the walls and furniture.
My go to drink is Butterscotch Liqour. My mixed drinks 90% of the time have it in them too. It almost goes with anything, so I'm surprised any drink with it in it could be bad.
The peppermint coquito: we made these and found it sooooo much better tiki-ed up with the added rum, some crushed ice and a fuck-ton of mint leaves, garnished with a cinnamon stick because we were feeling boujee and we were already drunk 🤷♀️
seltzer = has salt club soda = carbonated water. I believe that's the difference. up here in land of old fashion's and cheese curds...one doesn't confuse the 2, cuz theyre 2 different things.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
Only "holiday" cocktail I need. Moscow Mule made with Crannberry Vodka. Simple. Tart. Enjoyable. If you wanna give it a bit more of a holiday spice, and if you can find it, add clove bitters.
Evan Williams Egg Nog is my honest go to for Christmas, especially when it comes to, "Well, I'm in this Walgreen's and I'm not actually gonna make something for this party."
No joke, it is actually enjoyable, especially for a bottle that's right there at the check-out counter.
It’s basically “I want to eat a tub of ice cream but that’s not socially acceptable so I’ll have a … snocalada
At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.
The fig Negroni sounds pretty nice. I go through Campari faster than any other bottle in my cabinet. Maybe a touch of allspice dram would this drink a bit more Christmas.
Jameson Black Barrel on its own is pretty solid, I keep a bottle kicking around in the cabinet
If you are going to make another christmas/winter themed episode you'll have to try Feuerzangenbowle. It is made with wine, spices, oranges and a huge lump of sugar drenched in burning overproof rum so it caramelizes and drips into the wine.
I love the comments on the sind when Greg is going over the drinks oh poor Helen pray for helen
Yeah, the red white and merry is best mixed with other stuff. It makes an interesting mule.
Water ice!! Haven’t had that for years, not planning on it , but loved it as a kid
Right, Greg. Here is a missive from the UK. I am in a pub called the County in Huddersfield UK. Here are their cocktails:-
Jack Forest Gateau
Coffee Liqueur, Bailey's, Chambord.
A Celebration
Brandy, Martini Rosso, Campari, Bitters
These are the two that are safe to give you, Greg.
Jameson Black barrel with ginger beer used to be my drink of choice. Many memories.
Tasting notes were on a new level of perfection this time.
Ahh, ahh, ahhh, uhh, uhh.
18:10 the energy here, the way he said it almost like a bark, it's some clippable stuff
Clip! Clip!
Jameson Black Barrel is really great, actually
Thank you for taking several for the team Greg. Whooooooooboy.
5:25 I work at a restaurant famous for our margarita variety one of ours uses coconut and we use honey as the binder for the rim
Love watching your show! You have inspired me to try to make some different cocktails for my family.
Having a tough time recently and I just want to say thanks for the lovely videos ❤ really takes my mind off things and I love your positive vibes
Watching Greg getting more and more unhinged as the video goes on is the best
Here's a good one from me
I normally do this in 1/3oz measues
Equal parts Bailey's, Rumple, white rum (black or spiced probably won't hurt), and Fireball.
Well Greg, I'd like to say thanks, i think. Since i started watching your show you have literally cost me thousands in booze trying out cocktails which i had never tried before. Have come to love a good whisky sour and have a shit pile of liquor now - thanks
If you want more true cranberry juice, use Ocean Spray Cranberry Cocktail over the "100% Juice". The 100% is mostly grape and apple juice.
Hey Greg I was wondering if you could make this drink it’s called
Christmas cow
1 cup milk, 1 3/4 ounces Irish whiskey, and 1 teaspoon confectioners sugar
1.) heat the milk in a small saucepan just until the milk starts to boil.
You want the cranberry cocktail.
yeah the juice blend is very apple-y.
I like using 100% cranberry juice (unsweetened or sweetened depending on mixers) for more flavor & less sugar. But I also like stuff that isn't too sweet.
Damn near every juice is 80% apple juice regardless of whatever the label says, it's ridiculous
LOL, fun breakdown of the stupidity of holiday themed drinks slapped on the gift packs. Especially the caramel. (Though as kids making sundaes, we did learn to hold a finger over the snap caps when shaking them.
There's something really funny about "I don't have a bar spoon so I'm gonna guess/use a knife" and then he finds a bar spoon for the cherries.
Oh, dude, this episode was GOLD.
Helen giving a new meaning to rimming the glass with that caramel
A good friend of mine used to make a weirdly tasty drink that he called a "christmas morning". I forget the ratios, but it was a mixture of creme de menthe, cocoa, graham cracker crumbles, and marsh mallow, in a smoked glass.
something about greg saying "rim your glass" in california bro accent made me giggle uncontrollably
When you are watching this 2 weeks after it drops and get an ad from Hendricks for a holiday cocktail that sounds good. (Literally just the gin, cranberry juice, and sparkling wine)
Silence is the true friend that never betrays.
I was wondering when his beautiful singing voice would be back! *happy squeal* 😍
OH MY GOD! The cap FaiLeD!! 10/10 Greg 😂😂
The fig negroni's notes makes me really want an episode of greg recreating drinks purely off the editor notes.
Helen is sure to love this episode
"I can't say Carmel, without that 'a' in the middle" -Greg
"Were gonna need an arnj wheel" -also greg
The absolute 🌲 King of Cocktails 🌲 on RUclips.
This was fun! I'd love to try that Fig Negroni with whiskey instead
100% will buy the How to Drink Christmas Album.
seltzer = has salt
club soda = carbonated water.
I believe that's the difference. up here in land of old fashion's and cheese curds...one doesn't confuse the 2, cuz theyre 2 different things.
These all look nice and magazine-quality but appallingly sweet. Not surprised.
