Excellent series, how to clean a fuel petcock/carb, adjust points and decarbon a small engine. Useless for you, priceless for others. This is the first time I have ever seen points adjusted. I have not had the opportunity ever to work on a points engine.

For those (me included) not experts who are looking for educational learning videos this was priceless. I have Honda EB2200 that has been stored for years that I hope to revive. It’s in much better condition and after this 4 part series I have higher hopes of getting it back to Work. Thanks for sharing!

excellent mini bike or go kart engine, even with taper shaft it can still be adapted to fit a clutch on.

My uncle gave me a g300 to work on in mechanics class and it's been nothing but problems, but your videos have helped significantly.
    Thank you so much

just been given a E3500 k1 and this has been a huge help, going to strip it down check it all out before any attempt to start, biggest problem i have is fuel tank has more crap in it than i have ever seen and whats left of 20 year old fuel. plus side petrol tap was off so hopefully carb is good.

Really nice job. Most guys would have given up never realizing there was nothing wrong with the motor. Keep up the great videos.

Have a g400 on an ems3800 genset (240v, Australia) not starting, spitting out carby. Turns out the inlet valve isn't closing completely- on tdc compression I can spin the valve head with one finger and can feel side to side play when I push that valve left/ right. Will take the valve out and grind a half mill or so off the end. This one's a later model with plastic air cleaner and CDI ignition. Big tank on top the frame and electric / pull start. Reckon this problem happened from worn cam bearings allowing the inlet( with closer tolerances) to be held open slightly. The exhaust valve sits firm on tdc as exhaust valves have larger tolerances allowing for heat expansion. Lucky you didn't get electrocuted on that one!

Don I didn't understand the part about the low oil alert.I have a g400 that does the same spitting through the carb and thought maybe valve leaking.I watched your 4part videos and am thinking maybe this unit has same problem.the customer didn't give me a history.this is a honda generator. How can I diagnose that issue without going through all the other steps.I love your videos.you have saved me many hours with your easy to understand videos.I did a compression check and only got 70 psi.the carb was fine, cleaned tank and shutoff valve.was going for head removal next.what do you think.I have no problem with valbes and points but wonder if I have a junk gen
    Thanks Don

Removing the spark plug to stop the engine shocks the ignition coil, may damage that as well. Otherwise good series. Thx.

I still think the carb has a blocked idle circuit. The Generator was a secondary issue. Why would it run fine with a little choke. Without load it would idle with the lean condition .

would you recommend buying a G400? do you encounter many problems with them? what price would be reasonable for one?

I wish you would have shown how you got that armature off the shaft at the end of the video Because im doing an Onan right now and I need to get that off. I was thinking about hitting it with a mallet on the 2 hard sides because that works on flywheels.

Great video, I also have an older honda generator em1800 I'm trying to fix for my father in law.Unfortunately it's the generator part thats not working.engine runs fine.It has brushes and an AVR.I have tested the brushes as per another video.V check with engine running(AVR-disconnected).only get 2.5v, not 5-10 as told in other video.Any ideas? Thanks

hi dony i wrote to you before about what should be a time frame for rebuilding a generator & aprox what should it cost i just wan't an idea of what i should expect to pay for a blown connecting rod give me as much details as possible like is it wise to change everything or could you still use some parts to save money i have a baldor generator 5000 with a honda engine ...thanks 1 of your subscribers

  • @emildekoven4872

It is unfortunate that your methodical investigation did not yield a productive outcome. Still your presentation was enjoyable. It's assumed that the generator was not 'rebuildable'!

  • @robmochdre
    @robmochdre 5 лет назад

Knew it was a short from vid 1
It acted the same way as when you over load a small gen with a high wattage appliance
Energy made through dyno converts to electro magnetic braking .
Possible short in the consumer unit

Mate your definetly no orphon to trouble shooting engines that won't give until you have exhausted every possible avenue still it's fact that if losing your cool would make matters better I would be the 1st one but it don't still it was good watching you keeping your cool I was sure you were going to spit it a number of times.
The generator is exactly like mine except different air filter being the the exact part I wish to know more about as mine is missing the filter. typical lol..

  • @pivotboy63

any idea what the hp output of that motor is? it sucks they put the tapered shaft in it what they should do is put a regualar shaft and have the generator head have a shaft collar like that pressure washer pumps have so it slips over the shaft instead of attaching straight to it
