With Russia's invasion of a sovereign Ukraine, was the writer expecting open arms in Finland?
By respecting its international obligations under the Treaty of Paris (1947) and Treaty on the Fundaments of Neighborly Relations (1992) FI enjoyed for 75 years the fruits of peace, economic and cultural relations with a neighboring great power. By ignoring those obligations and instead joining hostile alliances to engage in psychological, economic and other types of warfare against RU, FI of course forfeits the advantages that its unique location bestowed.

83 years ago, Imatra was not a border town at all. The border was over 100km to the southeast until the Russians came. The Russians didn't come for shopping that time. They came with tanks, just like what they are doing to Ukraine now.
