Pride and talent can only go so far in todays motorsports. As SVG says, the technology is just about everything there is. Mind you this guy can drive the wheels off anything.
We new Marcus Ambrose never had the right team management and car set-up he needed. Let's hope Shane gets the right combo ongoing. Kevin Harvick was Mr.Smooth over the last 20 years. I am sure he will share his knowledge with our Shane!
I really enjoy this guy racing in America ! Such a great attitude and talent ! That being said most of his fans are really over the top slamming most of the Nascar stars as some kind of hillbilly racers ..! There must be something in the water because yesterday some dude contacted me about how much he hates KYLE LARSON and hopes SVG MOPS THE FLOOR WITH LARSON in the next road course ? NOT SURE WHY HE CHOSE LARSON BUT….ANYWAYS SVG came here just in perfect time for several added road course races to the schedule and this will really help his points battle since his all out specialty is road racing !!! SHANE'S lived a privileged upbringing. He went to St. Kentigern College (high school) in New Zealand, which is the best private highschool there (and costs a leg and arm). Glad to see him doing well.
Might be impressive tech, but Shane's living proof that you don't need all that tech to be a great driver! Sure, it might help a driver learn a track and a car a little faster, but in the end, you need a good driver and a good car. Same as always.
I think in a couple years svg is going to be a serious problem for Nascar. I mean great for the sport but he's gonna show us what Australia has to offer as a driver. Kiwi season is coming.
I’m hoping Brodie Kostecki will come across and race NASCAR now that he’s not racing at Erebus coz he was seriously quick in his one appearance last year, and would have been in the top ten if not for having to swap to his backup car after qualifying.
Ambrose fans thought the same. He'll be a contender on every single road course, He'll learn super speedways but short tracks and intermediate He'll be mid pack
@@_whyte.woods_1256true.. but the major difference now is that the cars are alot more alike so going from supercars to NASCAR is not such a foreign feeling. Giz having to be in XFINITY now is the biggest hurdle because they are still the older style car setup

Vanilla mate have you been to a Supercar race ,it's not Vanilla . The skill level is far greater than NASCAR . The fact that GIZZY is showing you boys how to drive is a testament to how big your balls need to be to win in Supercars
I hope it works out for SVG. He's not going to get more than 10 career wins just because of his age and also international road racers are only good at road courses or maybe Indy (I think of Juan Pablo then). Still would be fun to watch and maybe he'll prove me wrong.
In a word,NO but it can help you get close what you need to do Bathurst for instance had cars running 5-7 seconds faster in race conditions than real life, part of that is not needing to fear for your life im sure
Yet with all the tech and sims available teams Euro and USA spend money on... a pure driver from down under blows them away in a couple of races. Are they all now thinking "Is that money really worth it?"
NZ isn't as popular, those who haven't spent time around an Australian or Kiwi won't know the difference. Much like trying to tell Italian and French apart. Or Serbian to Croation and Scandinavian.

He is a new man now. Loved watching him in V8's especially in the wet but he always seemed awkward with interviews.
I reckon he'll be getting coaching for it, the media side is a huge component now. Americans love the camera, it's part of his job now.

Getting everyones data is insane. May as well put everyone in the same garage and force them to co-operate on setups and strategy at that point.
makes sense all of the australian supercars series cars are practically nascar cars now
No it's the other way around, nascar's are more like Supercars now.
Supercars look like the real thing.😊

with the new generation of NASCAR have the vehicles kept up with other similar series across the globe or are they still a bit "agricultural?"
The Cup cars now are more similar in nature to a GT3 IMSA car, but they have far less aero.
To be clear, it's not the elevation. The race is 1000km
Bathurst. A9X.
