Happy to hear Ambrose get mentioned, I always enjoyed seeing him race, he was an animal on the road courses.
Without a doubt one of the best road racers to come out of our country.👍👍👍🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺
@@hackney7106 An aussie now is he?
@@timorum Ambrose? That who it is about.
Montoya was better-
@@patrickanderson9023 nope.
Its people like SVG that make you proud to be a Kiwi. Onwards and upwards SVG
you could have been genorous and said ANZAC haha
@@ashhitchcock337 I'll give you that. Beating the Americans at their own game
@@simonfleming886us Anzac's have to stick together.
Kevin Harvick has a wonderful method of eliciting answers about driving from other drivers, this was a fantastic interview. Thank you!
He’s so much more relaxed and engaged with the media in the USA
He is a new man now. Loved watching him in V8's especially in the wet but he always seemed awkward with interviews.
I reckon he'll be getting coaching for it, the media side is a huge component now. Americans love the camera, it's part of his job now.
Alot of pr control over what they want you to say and do in supercars. He said it after Chicago that he was taken a back by the freedom to interact with the media
Skaife is not there to bring him down
@@joshuaholland6280 my thoughts exactly
Good interview Kevin,, Bathurst is such a cool track/race. If you've never seen the Super cars race there,,, lots of vids worth watching. 👍👍🏁 SVG👍
Superb interview, Kevin. Please do it with SVG again now, it's post Portland !!
Also a pro drifter for D1 NZ. Dude can drive multiple disciplines
He would be fast on a kids trike 😂
had no idea he was a pro drifter!! the more you know!
@@mrrsvisuals1596 rally, sprint cars, the list goes on
I am from NZ , Call me biased but that was an awesome interview , Go SVG 🙂
Great interview with a couple of great drivers.
I am loving seeing the real Shane in interviews! Can’t wait to see him running the road courses later in the year!
I love conversation about foot work.. my 2 fav footcam videos ... shanes from chicago and kevins fancy foot work at Sonoma 2020
Huge ambrose fan when with ross and jimmy good too hear
Fantastic interview!
Very good interview.
You’re an inspiration Shane
God bless you
Great job Mr. Closer, you are a natural at this, great vibe. Great guest to. Keep on truckin brother, you got this.
Kevin is a natural doing the media gig
We new Marcus Ambrose never had the right team management and car set-up he needed.
Let's hope Shane gets the right combo ongoing.
Kevin Harvick was Mr.Smooth over the last 20 years. I am sure he will share his knowledge with our Shane!
Shane IS with the right team. !!
i figured harvick would be pretty good at this, he's been a guest in the broadcast booth for xfinity series for years now.
You can hear how much happier SVG is in NASCAR compared to the vanilla supercar series
KH-Great Job!!!
Left foot braking originated with the 93 back in the early 50's!!!
i want to see svg in more nascar !
@3:30 it's a matter of money, there just isn't enough of it in Supercars to utilise the technology that is available
He's right. They have progressively gotten slower
The best driver / car combination still wins.!
I think in a couple years svg is going to be a serious problem for Nascar. I mean great for the sport but he's gonna show us what Australia has to offer as a driver. Kiwi season is coming.
I’m hoping Brodie Kostecki will come across and race NASCAR now that he’s not racing at Erebus coz he was seriously quick in his one appearance last year, and would have been in the top ten if not for having to swap to his backup car after qualifying.
Ambrose fans thought the same. He'll be a contender on every single road course, He'll learn super speedways but short tracks and intermediate He'll be mid pack
@@_whyte.woods_1256true.. but the major difference now is that the cars are alot more alike so going from supercars to NASCAR is not such a foreign feeling. Giz having to be in XFINITY now is the biggest hurdle because they are still the older style car setup
@@GDA_Sam Yeah, that's certainly true about Cup being more similar now. Pretty sure Super cars are solid axle though. But ovals are a different breed. You really need to feel comfortable throwing the car into that turn.
@@_whyte.woods_1256Supercars have been IRS for over 10 years.
Ive seen the Giz do lotsa different stuff. BUT, i'm still waiting for him to drive a big ole NASCAR up PIKES PEAK.
They should make a international league of sorts. Same cars. Same tracks. Just different races on the same weekend. So like if they’re at Vegas we’re at Phoneix.
I believe that's kinda the plan for the (hopeful) return of the IROC Series
It was called the A1 World Grand Prix, drivers representing their nations all in the same cars. Only lasted 4years.
@@branco4979was it competitive at all? Cause barely any country's outside US even have oval racing, or any type of racing done with Nascar
it was open wheel, so a bit different to nascar. Was fun to watch, each nations' car was painted in national colours, drivers had to be from whatever country they represented. 2005 to 2009@@HJK242
@@HJK242there were no ovals it was all road and street tracks. Also it was based on nations, so there was team France, team UK, team Japan etc
SVG is a legend! 👍
Come on aussies and kiwis, accept that it’s different. They don’t have a Larko, no one to educate their audience. These chats with SVG WILL HELP US LEARN WHAT THE CIRCLES NEED. Oh, sorry for the Caps, I’m not really yelling. 😂😂
I hope it works out for SVG. He's not going to get more than 10 career wins just because of his age and also international road racers are only good at road courses or maybe Indy (I think of Juan Pablo then). Still would be fun to watch and maybe he'll prove me wrong.
lol you sure?
Will be interesting to see, SVG isnt what I'd consider another "road racer", he stands out from others as a truly great driver
Haha, after Portland he's 20% there already. !!
Cheers Shane thought I was the only one as I now reside in Australia, that pronounced darta ( data) as darta, I see and now realise that you are kiwi, cheers bro
Getting everyones data is insane. May as well put everyone in the same garage and force them to co-operate on setups and strategy at that point.
Kiwi's are Great Race Car Drivers look at there History
1000 feet basically from the top to the bottom. Actually is 571 feet (174 metres). In case some of you were wanting to know the actual height.
Is the Sim as good as actual practice on a track?
In a word,NO but it can help you get close what you need to do
Bathurst for instance had cars running 5-7 seconds faster in race conditions than real life, part of that is not needing to fear for your life im sure
with the new generation of NASCAR have the vehicles kept up with other similar series across the globe or are they still a bit "agricultural?"
makes sense all of the australian supercars series cars are practically nascar cars now
No it's the other way around, nascar's are more like Supercars now.
Supercars look like the real thing.😊
Uhh wrong,The cup car is basically an Australian supercar now,we've had cars like this for YEARS
@@sriley064 don't you have a new generation car ?
I much prefer the look of the NASCAR compared to the V8 supercar, and I’m an Aussie.
So all that data, and all those sims and all that tech, all that money - and SVG landed, got in a car and kicked everyone's butt.
Hilarious
Bathurst. A9X.
Yet with all the tech and sims available teams Euro and USA spend money on... a pure driver from down under blows them away in a couple of races. Are they all now thinking "Is that money really worth it?"
his sister is beautiful
The main difference between nascars and supercars is, Supercars is racing, Nascar is driving in circles.
You’re clueless
🇦🇺🦘❤️
Why does everyone think he’s Australian 😹😹💀
You should NEVER have another driv3rs data.. that is their craft... nascar is #1 pos cok sukr for it to
Get rid of smt!!!!!
Grub behaviour in nascar is acceptable, he's right at home.
just makes me laugh when ppl think nascar is difficult.. there is no real challenge or much to learn with it..
Lol, have not tried nascar thunder 2004?
You say that as if you’re in it. You know nothing
@@hashbrown4278 i think i know what im talking about kiddo
@@kakswell how long have you been in NASCAR?
@@hashbrown4278 have a good day kiddo. this is an unwinnable situation for you
Harvick talks too much
Don’t like it then don’t watch it then simple enough
@@chubbypanda2715most logical comment on RUclips I've ever seen
Dude its a podcast
Shane you are starting to sound like a Yank ?
So if the tech is so good in the US why is HASS doing so poorly in F1?
It's not the tech it's the money a mid-level nascar team is about $15 million per year which is about $23 million here and a super car is $3 to $5 million
I hope it works out for him in America NASCAR I don't think he'd be welcomed back in the V8 Supercars as a driver if he wants to return
Why not?
