Nice first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. BABYMETAL are Su-metal (now 24, she is the lead vocalist) and Moametal (now 23) - the third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues and had not fully recovered so was still unable to perform, so she announced she would be leaving the band and hoped to follow her own long held dreams.
From the start of the 2019 tour and through to 2021 Su and Moa were supported by three dancers (the Avengers) who took turns to dance in the third spot (they did not sing). They were Kano, Riho and Momoko.
In this video the third girl was Kano, it was her first show with BABYMETAL.
They started in 2010 as a sub-unit of a J-Pop Idol group. Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. As members of that group they would sing songs and dance, the only difference is that instead of singing and dancing to pop music they do it to metal music - and it is metal, not just distorted guitars stuck on pop tunes.
In 2013 Su was 15 and it was time for her to graduate from the Idol group (it had a school theme and was for girls aged 10 to 15) and it was decided that BABYMETAL should be her vehicle and should separate from the Idol group to go with her as an independent band in their own right.
In December 2013 she turned 16 and the final step was taken in the transformation of BABYMETAL from sub-unit of the Idol group to independent band. In anticipation of this their backing band, the Kami Band, were phased in gradually from October 2012 playing festivals and encores in some shows. They became the full time backing band early in 2014.
The Kami Band are among Japan's very best session musicians and can play anything. For the 2019 and 2020 US and European tours the Kami Band of the West (American musicians from Galactic Empire on guitars and bass, Anthony Barone on drums) were introduced.
BABYMETAL have 3 studio albums and about 50 songs now - and every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre and will mix in or fuse countless other musical styles or genres whenever they feel like it pretty much - they follow nobody else's rules. This is just one of the things that makes them unique, innovative and never boring. Some songs are very heavy, others lean more towards their pop roots and you will find everything in between - eventually.
'PA PA YA' is about a spicy green papaya salad - what better subject for a summer festival metal song could there be. F Hero is a rapper very well known in Thailand - and he was rapping in Thai with the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle.

Babymetal never have afraid of trying something new.
In this case they are mixing thai rap with BabyMetal unique sound, although audio isn't an actual live performance, since the official MV got studio sound. Of course with the Kami Band playing behind this song is even better

This is a party festival summer song (Matsuri da), especially for season like this in Japan nowadays, they sing about papaya salad and mixing with other things as an allegory of life to enjoy mixing different stuff, in this case the thai and japanese culture.
F.Hero is a thai rapper and he rap about that in his part. Waving your towel while dancing and singing is a must and the girls love that.
This song belongs to 3rd album but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun side.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, They are:
*SuMetal* (lead vocals).
*MoaMetal* (scream and dance)
*YuiMetal* (scream and dance, former member since 2018).
None of them are related.

Nice reaction. Welcome to the Babymetal Galaxy of music. Babymetal likes to mix musical styles together and sometimes many musical styles together at the same time. They've gotten really good at it too. In their early days they used it to startling affect. Today they still do that, but they also do some subtle mixes in the music that if you don't know it's there you may never notice it. Why bother then? Simple it's like a giant Easter Egg for the music fans who do recognize the other musical styles that are being used. Musically this is just one of many things that makes Babymetal different from every other music group. One of the other things is their use of interpretive dance while performing their brand of metal. Which is known as Kawaii Metal. It started with them. Before Babymetal you just about would never have seen choreographed dance routines for heavy metal music. Babymetal even mixes their dance styles as much as they mix their musical styles. Makes them a lot of fun to watch. This song is about going to a music festival eating some spicy Papaya salad and living the best life you can. Go out there and have fun. Babymetal songs are all different from each other and yet retain an overall Babymetal sound to them. Mostly Due to Su the lead singer's incredible voice. Composition:-
Similar to other Babymetal songs, "Pa Pa Ya!!" gathers influence from various genres while preserving the band's J-pop and electronic music. With its name referring to the papaya, "Pa Pa Ya!!" contains components of southern lands, Japanese festivals, and a chaotic tune, for a "hot upper tune" in the summer. The song is composed of an "infectuous synth line", "bouncy guitar riffs", and vocals repeatedly yelling "Pa pa ya", with the tune showcasing Su-metal and Moametal singing around each other in contrast to the chants and guitars. She is the Michael Jackson of Japan. If she had chosen pop or Idol music she would be known worldwide. ( Thank God she chose metal)
