13:20 You should have a checkerboard pattern of alternating north and south magnet blocks, and have a switch hooked up to both an AND gate and a NOR gate. Each of those logic blocks is connected to all of a single polarity of magnet blocks, so that when you press the switch, one set turns off, and the other set turns on.
To pick things up with the magnets without them flying away, you should put several blocks between the magnet blocks and the outside of the objects, so that they don't get close enough to provide the massive forces that are ejecting them.

For picking things up, use an engine to control the strength of the magnets.
SM: Reverse the polarity

Nice video as always.
The problem with the magnets is that sometimes they are too strong. When you make a train you can attach the carriages to eachother it works just fine. But when you want to attract or repel light weight objects, the magnets are way to strong and are very glitchy.
This is what I saw with most of your creations in this video. The part which the magnet is connected to doesn't weight enough. For example, the railgun was shooting projectiles that were to light. The same problem with your flying creation. The first object you were trying to pick up was heavy enough, but the magnet you were trying to pick it up with was too light. The forces had a way too big impact on it and it didn't work.
A second option can be the engine. You can alter the magnet's power with it.
The maximum range of the magnets is 32 blocks, but the forces applied at this distance are usually very weak.
I will try to tweak the forces but I can't change it that much because I don't want to break older creations.

Darquos Leblack yea the projectile is attracted forward by a first set of magnets and when it passes those magnets a second set turns on kinda like a maglev (look it up on Wikipedia)
Bumper car challenge? You can put up to 3 rows of the same polarity magnets around your vehicles. You can do a race. Then you have a demo derby afterwards where you try to flip one another over or push them out of the arena.
i think this is you first mod review and it's pretty good and way more interesting to watch than other people since you try the mod with us instead of experimenting first, and that's just way more satisfying and fun that what others do. and a think you should do a multiplayer monday with this mod, like a rocket league style of game that all car have magnets and need to push a magnet ball all the way to a goal

Idea for Multiplayer Mondays!
Build magnetic cars and build a magnet minefield. You have to get the car through the minefield without getting stuck in place by the mines!

The magnets dont work becouse their in the same creation
the rope is causing the issue just put the magnets on a static structure instead of something that will move with the momentum of the magnet which as you could see throughout the video causes it to launch around

N means north and S means south like you said, but could it be that the magnet symbol means the front of the magnet is North and the back is South? Would that explain its weird glitchiness when you were trying to pick it up?

You could make bumper cars with this, with a floor of spaced out + magnets and cars with a few - magnets.
The gun you tried to make is called a rail gun, they use magnets. Search up how one works and base a creation off of it.

make a proper railgun, like with magnets all around the projectile that are set to activate right after it passes next to them so it gets realy fast, or just dump a truckload of magnets in the back, maybe put a sharp mod saw on the front and shoot stuff with it.

You can fix your result with the suspension with more magnets. It did have a slight effect on the suspension. You can see a slight gap when they repelled eachother and it would open and close the gap when you turned the switch on and off.
Make a floor of magnets then place a metal platform with the bottom covered in magnets so it hovers and try steer it

The "rope" of bearings you created wasn't quite meant to go with the magnets.
They want to attract, but when they do there's not stopping them from flying away.
You'll want to keep them both stationary on the object.
Scrap Mechanic wasn't made for this (Obviously) so you'll have to work around it if you want it to function.

Some kind of magnetically fired/attached spudgun missile/drill could be interesting.
With the picking up with your flying vehicle. Wait down the magnet.

If you connect the Magnets to a Motor, you can change the strenght of the magnetic field with the Motor indicator :)

The solution to wanting more magnet blocks next to each other would be to have an engine on the block and making the receiving magnets weaker than the magnet on the truck.
The magnets might have a force when they gets turned on but not after a while

You should use the magnets to make soccer. As long as everyone has the same polarity, you can push the magnet balls with the cars and won't get stuck and stuff. 👍
