What a gem! I never heard of Newbiggin, it looks amazing and I never knew that you could see orca in the UK - i googled it - its true!! Congratulations on your 600th parkrun, only a blue shirt ahead of me 😉Thanks for sharing.
My favourite parkrun ❤. I do it regularly. In fact I did it yesterday morning. We always start it with "Feel the rhythm, hear the rhyme. Newbiggin's ready. It's parkrun time! 3, 2, 1, go! Good old Tommy there with his hooter at the start.
Congratulations on your 600. I must say thanks for your wonderful compliments about my home town. It is very beautiful in the winter and the sunrises are to die for. Come back for the dolphins in the summer you would love it.
Well done doing your 600th. Whitley Bay is my home parkrun. I have ran Newbiggin several times and it’s a great parkrun. We are so lucky living on this coast and having so many excellent parkruns close by. Us Geordies will always make you feel welcome , even if you can’t understand the accent at times 😂. I’m really glad your enjoyed it and you make a trip back in the future
You are ridiculously lucky! 😍😍😍 We can't wait to come back but I'm thinking of saving Whitley Bay and Blyth Links for summer so we can maybe spend the weekend! 😃
Congrats on the 600. You are an inspiration. Seaside locations look fantastic in fine weather, even in winter. I also know how brutal it can be when the bad weather rolls in on an exposed coast.
Thanks 🤗 oh my goodness you're not wrong! When we did Crosby and Morecambe we were absolutely hammered by the weather... It definitely makes me appreciate people like Bill on the Hill even more! Although interestingly he said that the week we were there was the coldest he's ever been... It didn't get above freezing and he's in such an exposed spot! 😱
Congrats on 600 again! I loved the energy of this race. Each parkrun really has its own flavor and I really love something about each one. Maybe one day I will take some time off of work and hop the Atlantic and take a parkrun vacation! 😄
Lovely video. Next time you are up that way in warmer weather I’d recommend a trip out to the Farne Islands from Seahouses after your parkrun. The Farne Islands is only a few miles off the coast but it is like being in a different world because you will sea lots of puffins & seals. Perhaps combine it with a trip to The Pastures parkrun at Alnwick or Wallaceneuk parkrun at Kelso
Couldn't agree more! We've done all of that several times although not for a fair few years. It's just an awesome part of the world. Just stayed in Alnwick for a few days as it happens! 😍😍😍
I started visiting the North East and came across Newbiggin-by-the-sea and its absolutely the best seaside town there is the view of the sea and beach is spectacular and there’s always an ice cream van in the church car park during the summer
That whole area is brilliant, the Metro Centre is a brilliant shopping centre, the coastal road all the way up to Berwick from Whitley Bay, Harry Potter castle and Scotland is on the door step you can get to Edinburgh in good time. It’s the coast though just been 15 mins away at most is really good whereas living in Yorkshire it’s at least 1.5 hours to get to a coastline
@@Tims75312 exactly that! We've just spent a few days in Northumberland and ran to Alnwick 😃 absolutely love it and the coast is so stunning all the way along! Sunrise has been spectacular!
This was really great. When I'd visit England as a kid my grandparents were in the North East.....I love the accents. I've passed the Angel of the North many times and Newbiggin looks like a good place to live! Congrats on 600...that is amazing. Still laugh at Poppy's finishing kick and no way she was letting you have a "win" for your 600th.
I know?! Can you believe it! I laughed when I watched it back and I was so happy she wanted to run with me and then laughed so much when she said it was just so she could beat me! 🤣 I love the accents in the North East too, they just make me smile! 😃
I've already posted "Arbitrary!" to you online around this since, given I couldn't do it in person; have been saving Woodhouse Moor but I'm sure a landmark to visit will pop up another time :) Congrats on the 600 (though know it's a few more now!) and glad things worked out so nicely on what was a really icy morning!
600 puts my 60 to shame!! Well done. Have to agree that the north east does have some incredible coastline, I went to uni in Newcastle so know the area well. Now I'm about as far from the coast as is possible in the UK so don't get to run coastal Parkruns, I may have to make that a 2023 challenge when Warwick is off.
Not at all... You're already a 10th of the way there! 😃 Living in Leeds I always feel really far away from the coast to I really crave going there. To get to do one of my favourite things while at the coast is such a massive bonus! 😃
Happy 600th Nicola - fantastic achievement. Something very magical about running next to the sea. Have to say I saw the 'Spikey Mikey' and thought "is that it?" so not surprised your review was less than enthusiastic
Being a southerner it's unlikely I'll visit a lot of these northern videos so it's great to enjoy them through your videos. Well done on the 600, I'm aiming for those lofty heights 😊
We are lucky to have a great choice of parkruns around here, it used to just be druridge Bay (which is lovely) but it's amazing to have such choice. I just completed my 70th parkrun. Congratulations on 600!!!
I was thinking of aiming for Druridge Bay but then decided as the forecast was so good that I really really wanted a coastal run 😍 Druridge Bay is definitely still on my list though 😃
Well done on getting to 600! Laughed out loud at Poppy wanting to run with you "so I can beat you at the finish". As for coastal runs, Gdynia (home of the very first parkrun in Poland) goes up and down along the seafront and is worth a visit for international tourists
Congrats on the 600 & the great vlog. The parkrun started on the beach when I did it but now I want to revisit & try the new route variant because your enthusiasm for the course was SO infectious! 😀
The water was freezing. But I can not, not get in the water when I'm near it!! Just the most friendliest pr ever! I really missed it this pr morning 😏 please can we go back in the summer to see the seals?

I'm keen to do Newbiggin very soon, not least because I want to see the Jack Charlton statue in Ashington!

Lol... Yes how could I not?! Another Place is one of my favourite beaches to play on so I had to go do the parkrun there. They'd even put a high-vis on one of the sculptures! 😂
Yes dogs definitely make it more complicated... But they totally add to the experience so are worth the hassle 😉🐕🐾 it's definitely more complicated when we have blue with us!

I live in Newbiggin and have done the parkrun several times. Greatest place on earth!
Couldn't agree more 😍😍😍😍😍
600 parkruns, if I've worked it out properly, it covers 11 yrs well done 👏 ✔️ 👍 😀
Yup... Correct maths but it took longer because of the pandemic etc 🙃
@NicolaRuns well done nicola. Your a credit to parkruns.
